  1. So hose also having a "rest" this week are Nell, McInally & Brown, Dell (or is he injured), Grey, Gilchrist, Wilson, Watson, Thompson (although not going to SA due to his wife giving birth) Price, Hastings, Dunbar, Jones, Seymour, Jones and Kinghorn Not that i am going to read anything into that of course
  2. Anscombe is a seething mess in that, the ref tell him its up to Cardiff to change strip if they are unhappy but at no point do Cardiff decide to change the strip. IF it was that bad surely they could have changed at half time or at any point during the game. Glasgow as the away side turn up with their kit, and its up to the home side to change if there is a clash, as the home side should have access to another kit. Seemingly the kits were submitted to EPCR and they decided there wasn't a clash.
  3. In if TV had movie ratings sort of way, that Arrow is kinda PG, Titans is more 15
  4. Just watched the first episode of Titans, which is the new DC series based on Teen Titans. Much darker than the other DC series (Flash / Arrow etc), and I would say head and shoulders above anything else DC universe with the exception of Wonder Woman. High hopes for the rest of the season if it carries on in the same vein.
  5. It was last season i think. I had thought they were the same people as the ones leaving the boxes in Fear... but dont think it was in the end.
  6. Never heard of Skinner, all the talk of the Exeter 2nd row getting called up was that it was Ollie Atkins who we capped for Scotland A. Suprised about Thompson as he had said he wanted to concentrate on playing well for Scarlets, although I suppose the carrot of playing at the world cup was too much to pass up.
  7. I can see both sides of the argument with Glasgow, On the one hand we seem to have gone backwards since winning the Pro12 as it was under Townsend, and apart from getting to the quarters once have not managed to compete with the big boys in Europe. Its also been glaringly obvious we cant grind out results, and under Rennie now in his second season in charge we are not seeing any progress. Its been obvious to everyone we need some beef up front, but we made no moves over the summer to rectify this. On the other the budget at Glasgow is dwarfed by teams in the Premeriship and France, and in Ireland also and we dont have the finances to buy our way to a better squad. We already have one of the biggest squads in world rugby, due to the fact we lose so many players to internationals and we simply cant afford the same quality as everyone else. On the game of the bits I saw, we actually fronted up will in the forwards, and didn't go backwards in the scrums, defended excellently, it was more in attack were we had issues, and again is down to a lack of composure, or looking for the killer pass when just taking the tackle and recycling is a better option. Plus we obviously had some poor decisions go against us, but you have to make your own luck at times. Dunbar going off was a blow as he usually gets us over the gainline which gives us momentum which in turn makes space for Jones, and the back 3. I like Fagersson and think he is going to be a big player for us, but would maybe be better at 6 rather than 8. We dont really have anyone else (and haven't since Strauss left) that is a big dominating ball carrier in the forwards.
  8. I dont think they would be able to make any changes for the lowest level - ie take the license off of someone as they have moved the goalposts significantly. As the majority of the licence is back office and prodecures and with Glasgow Uni groundsharing with Airdrie, I cant see what changes they could make for Glasgow Uni to lose theirs?
  9. Haven't finished the 2nd, buts its been slightly better. We may still see the Iron Fist again as talk of a 2nd season of Defenders.
  10. I think price just shades wriggles worth, and DTH will get the better of Maitland, Jones v strettle with be fairly even, our centres are better but obviously Farrell is way ahead of hastings
  11. We've got the better set of backs, but we are really going to struggle up front unless we can keep the ball moving and away from their pack

  13. I stopped using kodi a while ago, and have been using hte Morpheus app (since terrarium went down) which has been excellent for TV and Films, had problems with both Kodi and Terrarium buffering but had no buffering at all with Morpheus. Only down side is that it doesn't mark which episodes you have seen off a box set which can be annoying as i tend to forget where i've got up to.
  14. What annoyed me most about the episode was the glass floor at the museum, it was so obvious what was going to happen. Surely there must have been another set of stairs to take the things down. Also quite liked the evolution of man skit at the start. Got to agree 4 or 5 seasons ago Gregory getting hanged would have been a big deal, now it was a pretty meh moment.
  15. Girvan were the same if i remember, although historically an SFA member, they still had to go through the licensing process which took some time, to keep their access to the Scottish Cup
  16. Im not seeing how binding like that is any sort of advantage, if anything its going to take longer to break from the scrum having to get your arm out first
  17. So we are going with 5 forwards and 2 backs on the bench, granted Horne and Matawalu can cover all the backs positions it could leave us short, I have been less than impressed by the bench selections so far this season, from 2 scrum halfs one week, to 2 Hookers, to now only 2 backs.
  18. To be fair to the SRU, having a 3G pitch is probably the best option, it should minimize the possibility of games being off due to bad weather, waterlogged pitches etc as postponed games have a huge impact financially and calendar wise, and also having a fast pitch suits the way Scotland, and Glasgow want to play, There's nothing worse than having a cracking set of backs that never get the ball as you are playing in a bog. I haven't seen any complaints about Murrayfield, but there does seem to be an issue with Scotstoun. May be a case that they need to lay a new pitch at some point soon, or get some in to look at it. Granted the Glasgow players never seem to have an issue with burns etc, only the opposition
  19. I've had worse, usually end of April / early September, when pitches are rock solid as they haven't seen any rain in weeks. If there are patches without grass they can be like hitting concrete You wont see it in hte professional game as the grass pitches are watered and kept soft, but the majority of club pitches are a nightmare to play on at times. You do wonder why at time why games get called off for frozen pitches, when they are just as hard at the very start / very end of a season.
  20. To be fair it would have been a lot worse if it was a bone dry pitch. He basically face plants into the ground then has jones land on top. Artificial pitch or not it was going to leave a mark either way. Slide your face for 5 or so metres on any surface and im sure the results would be similar
  21. He's had his pish patch while at Brighton, he's a spanish sensation again now
  22. Just caught up on the Glasgow game, again silly mistakes costing us. For me the issue is price taking the ball out of the breakdown and taking a few steps before passing which is putting pressure on Hastings, who is then holding on to the all rather than pass, which is probably the safest option if you are under pressure. If Price just gave him the quick ball straight away we could have had Dunbar and Jones more involved. Thought Hastings did well, but again should be looking to pass earlier. Thought Thompson did OK as well when he came on at 10, was suprised as he can play fullback so thought it would have been a straight switch, Davidson is a big unit also but didn't see enough to form much of an opinion. Kebble is mom is a good shout, we really could have done with him being fit last year, so hopefully we see more of him this year. If we can get as close to full strength as possible we can give Sarries a game. The questions are around who plays 2nd row (probably Harley but he is too lighweight), and the backrow. I thought Fagerson did OK, but again is a bit lightweight, so would probably play Ashe, Sarries will target Wilson as they know he can be riled up easily. Horne has to start, and the backline will probably be Hastings, DTH, Dunbar, Jones, Syemour and Jackson.
  23. Thats a short sighted view, Spain and Germany for example are huge markets that they should be looking to exploit and if they were at the same level as Georgia they would have already replaced Italy in the 6N's. Spain are not far off (and their women's team were way ahead of Scotland and it was criminal they were kicked out the womens 6N's) and Germay were making progress until the Wild fiasco kicked off. The only way they are going to improve is playing games against the top Tier 2 and lower Tier 1. If we were in a situation where you had a 24 team world cup with proper competition to qualify, plus 10 or 15 teams in with a chance of winning rather than the same 4 of 5 teams you would be able to sell the TV rights for more, hence helping the Tier 1 countries. The tier 1's are trying to keep the pie to themselves, but if they shared now thier slice would be smaller, but of a much bigger pie. In 5 to 10 years you could have Russia, US, Canada, Japan, Spain, Brazil and Germany knocking on the door of being Tier 1, thats what the target should be as they are markets with huge potential and could generate huge amounts of income for NZ / Aus / SA etc.
  24. Although it will give 2 of the smaller nations (I am they are going to include Italy in top 12 even though they aren't ranked in the top 12) some game time tier 1 teams, it excludes the rest from getting any. So at the moment US and Japan would get to play the big boys but Romania, Georgia, Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, Canada etc all miss out. If they want to try something new they should go back to proper World Cup qualifying. Say semi finalist automatically qualify instead of top 12, then everyone else in regional qualifiers. You could even have the tier 1 coming in in the last round so only 2 or 3 games but would improve all the smaller teams just getting the chance to play against them.
  25. So 2 SH's on the bench last week, and 2 Hookers this week. I know its only the kings and we should be running up a decent score, but this sort of thing looks amateurish
