  1. There’s been a lot of statistical research showing that the average ‘scores’ of a large group can often be a really good estimate. So, based on 1 point for a forecast of first, two for second etc, the league should finish: 1. Dumbarton 2. Stenhousemuir 3. Forfar 4. East Fife 5. Peterhead 6. Stranraer 7. Spartans 8. Bonnyrigg 9. Clyde 10. Elgin City But some of the rankings were close. You have no doubt that Elgin will be bottom, well behind Clyde. Bonnyrigg should be comfortably eighth. Not much separates Peterhead, Stranraer and Spartans. Ditto Stenhousemuir, Forfar and East Fife. Dumbarton are comfortably ahead on average. All of your top four were predicted winners by at least one contributor. Similarly, your bottom four were all predicted to finish last by at least one contributor. The team with the biggest discrepancy between the highest and lowest predictions is unsurprisingly Spartans, with a second and some tenth forecasts.
  2. You can take the teams out of the juniors but you can’t…
  3. Well perhaps they should, and at the same time build a small stand, some cover for visiting supporters, concrete the grassy banks, new toilets etc. Visit Kelty to see what can be done.
  4. Not before time IMHO. The ability to apply for a temporary waiver is reasonable but should be codified e.g. giving a club three years to meet the ground requirements on first qualifying for promotion to the SPFL (with no further waiver if relegated during that time and then winning a second promotion to the SPFL.) And ‘grandfather’ rights for existing members should also time expire.
  5. Good post! (And I’ll resist the temptation to point out that the comma should either be a semi-colon or a full-stop )
  6. Guess it’s an improvement on this time last season when they looked a bit fat
  7. Agree with those saying it’s far too soon to make predictions, but based on signings to date… 1. Dumbarton 2. Stenhousemuir 3. East Fife 4. Forfar 5. Stranraer 6. Peterhead 7. Clyde 8. Bonnyrigg 9. Spartans 10. Elgin
  8. Two more signings: James Dolan (Ayr Utd, previously on loan to Cumnock) and Kyle Fleming (Albion Rovers)
  9. He would no doubt argue that we would have won the tournament if B teams had been in the SPFL
  10. Or given recent developments, Celtic C, Hearts C and Rangers*B
  11. Employing the same PR people as Boris and Mad Nads
  12. but hope the LL had a watertight contract with Rangers* to ensure that they have to pay up for 23/24
  13. He’ll score the occasional spectacular goal for you, but you will lose a lot of balls into the river.
  14. Pleased, but surprised based on what I’d picked up a few weeks back on perceived benefits compared to the LL. Perhaps they didn’t want the ignominy of being the only SPFL supporters other than Celtic and Rangers*. Now time to reform the tiers 4 & 5 structure to address the concerns that were initially pushing Stranraer (and others) towards ‘yes.’
  15. There’s no need to simplify. We know which one is a new club
  16. So when’s the earliest season we could have a local derby between Caledonian Braves and Caledonian Locomotives?
  17. Well isn’t it obvious that the only reason Scotland beat Spain recently was because of the B teams’ addition to the Lowland League? Clearly if we promote them to the Conference League we will win the next World Cup
  18. Pre-season friendly at home to Connah’s Quay on 1 July.
