  1. He could be useful why, because he's on a lower wage? Even on that wage he contributed zero. So it's still a waste of a wage in my opinion because we've seen absolutely nothing from him to suggest he can even make our team in front of Callaghan.
  2. Gotta hand it to Scottish fitba' - just when you're feeling "what's the point" along comes another batshit crazy story to stoke our collective fires again! I shall order popcorn and watch this with interest
  3. At last an overhaul of our central midfield area! Delighted Sure Walker is onto pastures new now?
  4. JAVIER MAS was the guy. Made one substitute appearance for us at the start of the season. Found fame by adding CHERANO to the end of his name - or not!
  5. Considering the "double album" trepidation effect, the quality is evident throughout and is a consistently strong album. Love "The Joke's On Us" and the song that starts with the tremendous couplet Ancient Rome; We built that fucker stone by stone
  6. The scarf is a disgrace and won't make us much money anyway 'cos the weegie Barras cants outside will be selling same for cheaper. " 'erra scarf for 2 pound "
  7. Yeah, not headlining TITP on its 20th anniversary despite having a new album out would lead us to assume Reading/Leeds have them on a UK exclusive. I'd put my mortgage on it anyway.
  8. If we lose Brian Graham in January maybe, otherwise we are too strong up front to be relegation candidates.
  9. Heard Lies a couple of weeks back, sounds brilliant and on a poppier Crystal Castles vibe. Singer looks about 12 though in that YouTube clip - bit weird!
  10. Seconded, OMD are brilliant and not ones to be hidden in playlists
  11. 1 - Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman 2 - Flying Lotus - Los Angeles 3 - Boards Of Canada - Geogaddi 4 - Altern8 - Full On:Mask Hysteria 5 - Depeche Mode - Violator 6 - Burial - Untrue 7 - Future Sound Of London - Lifeforms 8 - Kraftwerk - Trance Europe Express 9 - Zomby - Dedication 10 - Soundclash Republic - The Birth Of Shiva Shanti
  12. So was I. It never made my list as I took a firm line with the criteria so was glad others did too. Screamadelica is a wonderful album but not for this thread (was convinced folk were gonna put in Kid A too!)
  13. Yaaas! My #1 album was the overall #1. As the countdown progressed (slowly ) I thought it had missed the boat so I'm delighted other voters had the taste to pick it. Brilliant write-ups throughout Colin - I jotted a few paragraphs along with my votes but nothing of the scale and knowledge from yourself. To all those who haven't heard DNBWMHM yet, or not for a while, give it a blast. A more fully-formed, sprawling journey of a record would be hard to find for your ears. It was a bit of a game-changer back in the beginning of 1994. Maybe you had to be into dance back then to appreciate it as much as i do.
  14. You've just reminded me I saw them at the Arches too! Checked the ticket and it was 6th birthday & final night party April '98. They were the special guests that night. I guess it wasn't Slams' final night though!!
  15. Anyone see Daft Punk at TITP '97? My memory is slightly hazy but I do recollect the Slam Tent going bonkers when Da Funk came on - I think it was a DJ set they did. In fact that day/weekend the Slam Tent had; Green Velvet Death In Vegas Global Communications Daft Punk
  16. Same. I gave Discovery a blast but it's no Homework. It may hang together as an album but Homework has much better highs for me.
  17. I own 100 shares in Raith Rovers FC Holdings ltd Oh yes, I'm a player! With a certificate and everyfink.
  18. It won't happen - bob carruthers has done one with the cooncil cash
  19. PAPERCLIP PEOPLE'S Secret Tapes Of Dr Eich was soooo close to my top 10 but I must admit to not hearing much else by Carl Craig up to now. I will invest in this album!
  20. I have 6 definites on my list so far (with brief summations) and will finish & PM by Sunday methinks.
  21. He's not a centre half though, positioning is suspect. I'd be inclined to place him where S Anderson plays, he can tackle a guy at least. Walker/Mensing/S Anderson with Graham/Spence up front and 1 other between Smith/G Anderson as an interchangeable 4-3-3/4-5-1 is maybe worth a try? We must realise we dont have the pace or indeed the talent to play through midfield (when have we ever in the last half decade) so its essential at least to have a tackler in there. Its got to be Ellis and Hill at centre half though.
  22. Current form can be rectified by placing Ellis at centre half and getting Mensing in midfield.
  23. I'll remember to send a list in by due date this time!
