  1. There's a touch of 'Livi firing Kenny Miller'. Probably a little too soon, but if looked at as a 'The board have realised they've made a mistake hiring him in the first place and will now hire appropriately' then there's probably some sense to it.

Difference being that Livi had a competent board at the time

Not been a fan of Kelly but he was excellent, so was Lewis when he came on for an injured Penrice.

Agree that Kelly was excellent, but Lewis was pretty poor IMO. I'd probably go as far as saying that if Penrice hadn't been injured we'd have won that game.

At the start of the 2nd half it was quite clear that Well had noticed that Lewis was poor in the air, and many attacks started by launching it long towards Lewis. I suspect Martindale noticed this, and this was a part ofthe reason why we went 3-5-2. If we don't do that, I think we win the game.

I was convinced the pitch invasion was going to see minutes added on, but the goal must have been so close to the end.

You never want to see a pitch invasion but surely a 93rd minute goal that means something significant is worth celebrating.

Yeah, I don't mind the pitch invasion at all. If it had been the other way around I'd have been on the park

  4. Frustrating game. Were well on top for 70 minutes, but somehow fucked it. Theme of the season tbh.

We seem to have dropped a lot of points at the death this season. Off the top of my head, we've done it against County, St Johnstone, Aberdeen and now Motherwell.

We can moan about the penalty all we want (I'm also in the 'seen them given but not stonewall' camp), but the bottom line is we're not in the top 6 because we fucked it ourselves. 1 point from 12 in the final 4 games before the split put us here, not bed refereeing decisions.

I know we've still got 5 games to go but the season is pretty much over here. It's been a decent season, after I thought we were getting relegated in December. Shame to come so close.

Time to get some of the fringe players in who'll be here next season and see what they can do. Boyes should be starting every game from here on out IMO. Lewis, Forrest, Bailey and Soto can sit on the bench, time to look to the future.

Also Sean Kelly was really good in the centre of the park o_0

  5. Soto seems to be a clearly talented player, but not one who's used to our system at all. Very good with a clever flick, but we don't need that, we need someone who can hold the ball up while the midfield catches up, or someone who can run in behind to a ball over the top.

His baseline seems very good though. He'll be a success if and only if he is a fast learner.

Surely not? Hopefully Rangers do sign him then.

Not just his best, his best by an absolute country mile. He's been way off it in every game I've seen him play.

Tbf, he clearly has something. Wouldn't be too surprised if he came back next season. Seems a little bit like JET last season, in that there's clearly a great player in there if we can somehow get him to play a tune, but not sure the attitude fits with what we already have.

  7. Hearts have just had our number all season. If we make it into the top 6, I'm sure they'll do it again.

Could have been 3 down by half time. We were much improved once Beningame went off, but still not enough to ever look like getting out of the game.

Hearts are 3rd for a reason, they're a good side. A win against Saints in a fortnight will put us in a great position.

With St Johnstone zeal happily declared, I do feel for Zander Clark. He's been excellent for a honking Saints side this season and has now returned from injury. I'm not sure why he's been binned for these games in favour of howler machine (and yesterday's man) David Marshall.

Marshall might be on the downside of his career, but he's a level above Zander Clark, even now.
