To be a little cynical, I believe part of Livi fans desire for him to do well is not fully founded in him being that good, it is more that he has been our only real youth prospect for the past 4 years or so. Looking forward to having a flow of youth players coming through that we can get behind.

I completely agree with this. I just don't think he's Premiership standard, and his style doesn't fit with ours anyway. If we can get a fee for him, I'd let him go.

  2. Maybe my Livi bias is kicking in here, but I still think we've performed better with Dykes as a solo forward than Adams. Adams is clearly the more gifted player, but in a one-up-top system then Dykes knows how to play that role very well. He's more powerful than Adams, is a better judge of when to hold the ball up and when to run in behind, and (I can't believe I'm saying this about Lyndon fucking Dykes) is a better goalscorer at the moment.

Adams is clearly the more gifted player however, and if we can find a system to play to his strengths then I imagine we'd be a much better team for it.

Seems rude not to ask you chaps what your opinions are of Alan Forrest, since we appear to be keen on him.

On his day he's brilliant, however, I'd say he was a bit inconsistent. Has a tendency to try to do too much himself and ignores team mates. Can be lethal when cutting in from the left wing onto his right foot, it became his signature goal and it surprised me that teams didn't seem clued up on that. Should do well for Hearts and I would expect him to be in and around the national team if he does as well as he should

^^ I agree with most of this, clearly inconsistent, great on his day (which conveniantly seems to happen a lot more often when he's looking for a contract). No danger is he getting anywhere near the national team set up however, I'd be surprised if he even becomes a consistent starter for Hearts.

Kevin fucking Clancy, pick any game he's officiated over Livi.

Following on from this, mine was Chukwumeka's 7 minutes against Aberdeen. A game where Clancy had given out 11 yellow cards and a red (in a game that wasn't particularly dirty tbh), and Chuk comes on after 84 minutes to be the legs up top. The boy didn't even move. Aberdeen were all over us for those 7 minutes (as we pretty much played with 9 men), Martindale does his patented sub off a sub, and suddenly we look like a unit again. I was raging.

The hounding of Callum Carson on twitter after that by members of the club was pretty poor form as well. To Caleb's credit, he put the work in and looked a decent player for the last couple of games of the season. I'd happily have him back again on loan, I reckon he'll improve and be decent. Definitely a little surprised that he wasn't just shipped out of the club after that Aberdeen game though.

“I had a small fracture in my foot and got an operation. When I was coming back I just felt something wasn’t quite right so I got it checked and they discovered another fracture so that set me back.

“Once I got over that I was fine and now I’m back playing and just want to spend as many minutes out on the park as possible.”

He added: “I want to get back to full fitness and just help the team out and hopefully have a great season, personally and the team.”

A fully fit Keaghan Jacobs is more than good enough for the top of the championship. He hasn't been fully fit in 18 months however.

Thought the second half was OK, I’ve seen many far worse games. Decent point, clean sheet, plenty of effort. Thought Greive was just pipped for MotM by the performance of the West Bank linesman in that second half - he was quality.

Oh, and after the game, following me spotting the Livvy team bus at Braehead earlier in the evening, had a word with the Livvy bus driver - they have a pre-match meal at Tony Macaroni in Braehead XSite when through here for games. Part of their sponsorship deal. Cracking bus by the way. Smart as hell.

Last season, we had pre-match meals in Tony Macaroni up in Aberdeen, some random complained about it to the media, and suddenly we weren't allowed to do it any more. IIRC that coincided with our worst losing streak while we've been in the last 5 years.

That's a shame, esp Sibbald, think he'd get into the team once he's fit, but illness and injuries have really knackered him this season, expected McMillan to leave because he deserves to be playing regular games and wont get that at Livi. Best of luck to both of them, except when playing against us.

Sibbald was class when he was fully fit. Covid seems to have caused him significant health issues, and I understand why he's moving on. I wish him all the best, and he'll easily get another Premiership club if he can get fit.

McMillan deserved more game time than he got IMO. He'll go to a Raith/Caley/Thistle type team, and be the best player in their squad.

As much as it's sad to see them go, I don't think they'll be huge losses. Considering how little either has played this season they won't be leaving huge gaps in the squad. Shinnie is an all round upgrade on Sibbald and Kelly seems to have replaced McMillan with Brandon coming in too

Hard disagree with this point. I think a fully fit Sibbald is a better player than Shinnie. It's entirely fitness related with Sibbs IMO
