  1. Weird game of football. Even though we lost 4-1, I'm actually not too disappointed. Hibs have sorted their shit out, and look a decent outfit again. Youan is up there with the best non-OF players in the league at the moment, him & Boyle next season could be a solid front line.

Didn't think we looked too bad. We were the better team up until the equaliser, and then mentality issues seemed to kick in. Fitz sitting off for the 2nd was criminal, but I'm blaming Devlin for both of them. He's had a shite season, the sooner Brandon is fit and fighting him for the spot, the better.

Shamal had his weakest game in a Livi shirt as well. Flapped at a couple of crosses, dreadful distribution, and even though there was a deflection he should still be doing better for the 3rd.

Other than that, there were some real positives. Anderson and Omeonga had a great press. Nouble was causing all sorts of problems in the first half. Holt showed us exactly why we missed him in the centre of the park.

Sending off was harsh, whoever it was that 2-footed Obileye should have walked, and I'm surprised the 4th wasn't ruled out for a foul on the keeper(although I haven't seen it back yet, so all 3 of these opinions might be absolute shite). (EDIT: Wasn't 2 footed, but it was dangerous. One of those orange ones. And there wasn't a foul in the 4th, if anything Shamal clatters Nisbet)

United midweek now looks like an important game. Got to stop the rot, and with the way the heads went down after the equaliser then there's some work to be done.

Players expect a raise upon each contract extension and it's possible we can't even afford to offer their current terms again. The covid financial effects have hit now, Martindale has said, so the budget is down on what it was one and two years ago.

Shinnie will likely be let go as he's older and features less than the other three mentioned. We'll be lucky to find the money for one of Holt or Omeonga. I hope we can but be braced to lose both. Devlin might be prioritised of the four. Managing to finish Top Six and the extra prize money awarded for that could make the difference here.

Sean Kelly was signed after being released by a third tier side. That career background of player is one we can actually afford without caveats. The others mentioned come to Livi at well below their earning potential. They do so in exchange for increased exposure, as Martindale said in the report there. We can't keep these players long term as they come to the club thinking it can provide a career bounce.

As far as I'm aware, Omeonga and Shinnie are on high wages. Both haven't provided enough to justify keeping them on that salary. They've both been good players, and assets to the squad of course, but as high earners then they're first out the door when we're needing to be more conscious about finances.

Holt may well fall into the same bracket. Devlin as captain is slightly different, but he could move on and get more money elsewhere, and I wouldn't blame him for that.

I'd be surprised if any of the 4 are here next season.

  3. My favourite moment was when Nouble pulled out of the tackle before Shinnie was near, Shinnie dived anyway, somehow the freekick was given (and then his brother was booked for dissent). Then, 2 minutes later, Devlin catches Shinnie quite high on the shins, and then for some reason Shinnie spends the next 30 seconds shouting like a hard man as if he hadn't deserved his shit for diving.

And after all that, I'd probably still give him man of the match. Aberdeen's pressing was just better than ours. We deserved nothing from that.

  4. Big game. A decent run in the next 3 games and we can almost secure top 6 before the international break.

Anderson being fit has a big impact on our chances, but I don't see him fit. I know Martindale said the injury wasn't bad, but I've been hurt before.

    I suspect we'd have better luck with a Nouble-Guthrie-Bradley front 3 instead of a Kelly/Dylan-Nouble-Bradley one.

  5. Tierney is missing out quite simply because of how well Zinchenko is doing. They're different types of players, Zinchenko has a phenomenal ability to link the play from left back, he's a much more technically capable player than Tierney.

Tierney's still the same player that he was and will excel in a team that plays in a way more fitting with his capabilities. I expect he'll go in the summer.

Rangers set sights on Shamal George deal after scouting mission (footballinsider247.com)

This would be a weird one, he's not been here too long. He's looked decent but you'd think there's better to come. He's not even a year into a 4(?) year deal so you'd be imagining we're looking at 2m+ just for the hassle of having to replace him after one season. Given we paid a fee for him, Colchester likely have a sell on % too, we pushed the boat out a bit to get him so surely would expect a similar experience in selling

Would be a little weird, but not too out there. I genuinely think he's been the best keeper in the league this year (with maybe slightly amber tinted specs on), and Rangers are desperate for a keeper. He'll be cheaper than a lot of other options they have.

If Rangers offer 1.2m? He's gone. Although we're certainly in a good negotiating position.

Genuinely thought we'd see De Lucas if there were going to be any changes. That's a lineup you'd expect against Aberdeen or Hibs....fantastic

Martindale has been quite forward about how much he wants a Scottish Cup run, so I'm not surprised to see the best team out there. Looks pretty attacking as well with Pittman, Kelly, & the front 3.

    Boyes has a bug apparently

  8. Isma may well end up as a decent signing for Raith. It didn't work for him at Livi for a collection of reasons (One of which being that he's still overweight 5 months into the season), but there's clearly still a player in there. He doesn't have the energy needed to work in this Livi team, but the technique is clearly still there.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him be your player of the season. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him get 2 games for you and rot on the bench.

  9. I feel like there are some rose-tinted specs floating around re Sarkic. His kicking was phenomenal, but he also was prone to a blunder every now and then.

Konovalov's cat-like claw away of Brophy's header in the home match against St Mirren in December is the best individual save from a Livi keeper in recent times.

This is an interesting question. I think I'd give it to Max's free kick save from Barisic.
