  1. Yeah we've been shocking at Fir Park. A win here, giving us 9 points out of 12 with the only loss being the narrow loss to Rangers, would put us in a stunning spot at this point in the season. Particularly when we haven't even played any of the 'weaker' teams yet.

Having said that, no way it's happening. Fir Park is a nightmare place for us. Fitz to get sent off after 10 minutes in what will turn out to be his final appearance with us and a 4-0 defeat.

  2. I think if Fitz goes, we need a replacement. There's a chance he goes on the last day of the window, which would be a disaster for us. No idea what our best CB pairing is without him, Ayo & Cancar at the moment? Parkes might have had a shot if he was fit, similarly with Boyes. Bitsindou played there at Albion Rovers, but not at all convinced he'd play there consistently.

  3. Class game, class result.

    - Nouble's goal was piss poor from Hanlon. No idea how that boy got a Scotland cap. Kenneh doesn't exactly cover himself in glory for it either. He could have had a hat-trick on another day. Decent save from Marshall in the first after he broke through again, and his effort just before the second was inches over. Not sure he's staying past January if he keeps this up, but he's 27 now and subsequently we wont get 1m for him. Would 750k take him away? Not convinced at this point.

    - Having watched it back, I'm still convinced Boyle was a dive and Cabraja should have walked. Montano could also have gone though on another day.

    - Sean Kelly going from a meme character to a deserved starter in a new position is not what I expected back in March.

    - Porteous is such a pain in the hole, but I'd love him if he played for us. It didn't work out for him when he went flying at Montano when Porteous himself got booked, but you can see what he was trying to do. Decent shithousery that would have worked with many of the other shite refs in this country.

    - We'll miss Fitz when he goes, but Ayo was MOTM today IMO.

We really need to be smarter at grounds such as this in future because as much as we want to play the fast, free flowing football we are known the country over for, teams like Livingston are never going to allow that, Wether it be physically or by their great leveller(the pitch).  Livingston perform the “dark arts” of football so well, very streetwise, very physical (I feared the worse when melkerson went off injured)

Fair enough there’s not much, if any, actual footballing ability in their side but they more than make up for that with the blood and thunder aspects of the game. As we’ve seen It’s a god Dam effective game plan in This country whereas Hibs are more suited to a European style of play.

I also think our manager and players really underestimated Livingston today and paid the price for it. Just because we haven’t heard of any of their players, doesn’t mean we can just turn and beat them. This game was a cup final for their team and fans. There was a real carnival atmosphere in West Lothian today, the  whole town was out for This one.

This post is a masterclass in subtle trolling and I love it

The wage difference between the OF and the rest and the different fan base sizes are a convenient excuse for failure by everyone else.

The inconvenient truth is that no other team challenges the OF because those plying their trade at other clubs up here are simply not professional enough and they don't work anywhere near hard enough.

An endless stream of players who move from Scotland to England have told stories of their shock at how much harder they had to work at their clubs down south.

Our clubs can't even be professional enough to be ready to play teams from the Ireland at the end of July. There's the problem in a nutshell.

There's also a cultural "we canny win" attitude up here.

That's why it's been 36 years and counting since anyone else has won the title.

So it's a lack of professionalism, a lack of genuine effort and a losers mentality. Fix that and we'd see the OF being challenged in no time. There's really no excuse for this state of affairs.

Probably the worst take I've ever seen on this website

These hypothetical Livi fans that don't have any pals who are season ticket holders might not exist, you're right. Regardless, The Wrong Car actually changed my mind with his replies. Deciding on the fly to enforce the new policy for a specific match isn't feasible. A policy like this needs established parameters from the offset and "all category A matches" is the most reasonable line to draw.

They definitely exist, I'm one of them. Moved out of Livi nearly a decade ago, but still manage to make 5/6 games a season whenever I'm back. If one of those ends up being a Celtic/Rangers home game, I'm fucked.

Well, theoretically fucked. I know a couple of season ticket holders who I haven't spoken to since I left that I'm sure would sort me out if I got in touch out of the blue. Failing that, I've posted on enough Livi groups over time, I'm sure someone would take pity on me. Either that or I've emailed the club often enough over the years to buy stuff/sort out other arrangements, I'm sure if I contacted the right person at the club we could make it happen.

Bit of a pain in the ass that might discourage me from going, but I'm sure I'd still make it if I was determined. Personally, I think this policy is overkill, but they were never going to please everyone. Let's give it a go for the rest of the season and see how things work out.

  7. I got the impression that Sibbald really struggled to get back to his best after a nasty bout of covid. A fully fit Sibbald is a starter for us IMO, but it's been more than a year since he was fit.

Calculated risk for United if they sign him, but probably worth it as there's a quality player in there. Sibbald always came across as a good guy, hope it works out for him.

  8. Didn't see the game, but the reports leave a lot of questions 😂

Max is still here, but for how long? Is his head in the game?

Are we having issues getting international clearance for players if we're playing signed players as trialists?

    Just how unfit is Esma?

Are Bruce/Jack ready for the start of the season?

    Where's Parkes/Omeonga/Penrice/all of the newbies?

Why are we in a white kit again?

  9. Good comments from fellow fans.Right let's get down to the nitty gritty here.Bruce goes for relative megabucks. What have we got left striker wise .Imo zilch.Id hoped someone decent would come in if he got injured to help us.Hasnt happened. Look at the current options. Is it just me or am I whatching a different game. From wingers, mid field to the back yeh fine. But up front[emoji2369].Bruce goes,we have a problem.Livi fans know what I'm saying. I'll leave it there.

Can’t say I agree with this. Goncalves will be that guy. If Bruce goes, yes we need to replace him but we’re not so reliant on him we’re screwed if he goes.

Might be one more  addition yet, sure he said there was 2 more signings he was looking to make. Squad is looking pretty good though, particularly if Max and Fitz stay, reckon we're stronger than we were last season.

Fitz in particular would make us a lot stronger. Without him, we're using 2 of Obileye, Parkes, Boyes, Cancar, which I'm not fully confident on at this point
