  1. Thank you. I had a feeling at least one of you would understand my logic.
  2. Have I got the wrong Dungdee thread ? I was merely pointing out that teams like Dundee are stifling and boring. They try and neutralize the other team and utilize the bully boy mentality. United on the other hand actually try and play football. They afford the other chance to beat them at playing the beautiful game and not boring or subduing the other team into submission.
  3. I would take a point gratefully. It appears that both teams are struggling to adopt to a new squad. Unfortunately Robbo has not really changed our system too much and we remain one-dimensional and predictable. Cant see us having the dogged defence and hit on the break effect that we had last season. There again United appear a better team than Dungdee and perhaps that will actually suit us better. Our defence looked disjointed and unfit. Lets hope that Coll and Tremarco return quickly to their usual standard. I really hope that we chuck the hoof to the headless White tactic and play more to the width of Doran and Walsh. Play more to the strengths of Keatings and play Carson in front of the back four.
  4. Are you Johndo in disguise ?? You are learning Grasshopper or was it the Voddie ?
  5. In the group that I attended games with there were Cellic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Dundee, Airdrie and Hibee supporters.
  6. History Lesson - I was referring to the Caley and Thistle fans who decided to go and add to Uncle Roy's coffers after the merger. I think that you will also find that many of the pre-merger Caley and Thistle fans had allegiances to "bigger teams" - mainly the Old Firm and Aberdire. Only warning in regard to any historical research is to avoid the Fairy Tale titled "Against All Odds". These posts are looking like the perfect ending to the 18/19 thread !!!
  7. The ones that went on to attending Victoria Park were. You should be proud of your noble footballing forefathers !!
  8. Think that either you and I could have patrolled the hole between our non-existent midfield and the lone and ineffective White being fed by misdirected hoofs from our besieged defenders. I bet he ended up with a sore neck but no sweat stains. Anything is possible. Some contestant teams actually beat the Eggheads.
  9. Yip - Hellgin Shittee and the S*****o were the "enemy" for many years - especially in my 70's "heyday". I too stayed away for almost the first three seasons but the "bug" bit and although I still refer to the team as Caley I am ICT through and through.
  10. !8 year old fledgling midfielders are rarely central midfield apprentices. Robbo described him as "an attacking midfielder" ?
  11. Curry is injured again. MacGregor should be ahead of Curry but is probably still in the pecking order behind Doran and Walsh. To me the big question is up front. White is NOT a target man. He is simply awful in the air and lacks mobility. Todorov beats him in both but White is evidently the better "box player" or "goal taker". I presume that Robbo will persevere with White but I can see a fitter Todorov taking over. And where do you play Keatings. I don't like see him playing deeper or in the so-called Number 10 role. He needs to be the second striker off the target man. To me Keatings and Todorov make more sense. And what has happened to the back five. They looked like they hadn't played together before ?
  12. Interesting quote from David Dowling yesterday - "The first day of the new season is always something to look forward to. Fab start for Brora Rangers beating Caley Thistle Colts 6-0 to go top of the league after day one. Lots of very tough challenges ahead but great to start with a win."
  13. It's a money maker and will appeal to more than usual.
  14. Yes I could appreciate that and I am shure Uncle Roy is chuckling as well.
