  1. Will be an Interesting-looking schedule for Dundee (and Aberdeen) after the shutdown.... If St Mirren get into the next round of the cup then we'll have a pretty busy schedule of 8 games in 36 days between 27/1 and 2/3. And that's with our league fixtures up to date. Throw in an extra 4 games on top?
  2. Didn't realise he could play in the middle of the park. After that clean sheet yesterday Robinson might not be keen to reshuffle the defensive 5. I think Fraser might continue at RWB against Celtic.
  3. With Baccus away on international duty and MoH potentially injured might we see Fraser Taylor back in a St Mirren shirt on Tuesday night? CBM will replace Baccus but if Mark is out then...... Ryan Flynn? Gogic is also a possibility if the manager is prepared to rejig the defence. Options in the middle of the park are a wee bit limited.
  4. I thought that there would have been confirmation by now that the game will go ahead. Wonder if the pitch is fine but we're awaiting a green light from the polis.
  5. The game at Ibrox is off despite the pitch being playable. Looks like Aberdeen v Motherwell will follow suit shortly.
  6. I see that a number of buses that would normally go through Linwood Toll are diverting along Greenhill Rd. Will be even heavier traffic around the ground than usual.
  7. The arguments have been done to death, but if you were to start from scratch, only a madman would suggest having the most-congested part of Scotland's most-popular, outdoor, mass entertainment at the height of winter. The reason we do it is because 150 years ago the Victorians set summer aside to play fcking cricket.
  8. Similar situation to the game at Ross County which was postponed on the day of Storm Babet because of safety concerns. Obviously Kilmarnock fans wouldn't have as far to travel but we're in the middle of a named storm again. 5 games due to be played tonight, so will be interesting to see if they all go ahead.
  9. 15 hours of heavy rain leading up to kick-off then 36mph gusts of wind during the game. Similar conditions to the slightly farcical Motherwell 0-0 a couple of weeks back. Hopefully when the ugly sisters head off to the bottom tier of the Super League, we'll seriously look at summer football for this country.
  10. Judging by this footage, he's certainly a better fit to the Ryan Strain role than anyone else we have in the squad. Smart business by the club I think. With a bit of luck he might be good enough to be Strain's replacement for next season and beyond.
  11. Pffffft.... "folk". It's the all-seeing and all-knowing RandomGuy we're talking about here. Bow before him!
  12. Loved that, after the 2nd goal, the first thing Gogic did was sprint like a madman to a ball-boy so that Jonah could do the baby celebration! The CBM injury looked ominous. Seemed to know immediately what it was and you could see how frustrated he was. The transfer window is not far away now. I think one thing we'll see is Fraser Taylor come back from Ballymena and be involved. By the end of the month, he'll have played 20-odd games this season, so should be good to go as a midfield option.
  13. When Strain was suspended for the 4-0 St Johnstone game, Ryan Flynn played 87 minutes at RWB. Of all our reserve players, to me, he seems the best fit out there. Lacks Strain's flair going forward but is an experienced, tidy footballer. Also means McMenamin can play his more natural position further forward. Maybe SR will try that again tomorrow.
  14. Where is Henderson? Bad injury? Haven't seen him in a squad for weeks and weeks.
  15. Yeah, a quarter of the pitch being covered in frost was not too clever. There must have been a few worried members of staff yesterday lunchtime. I just assumed that the USH hadn't been on at all and we'd been caught out by the overnight temperature.
  16. Absolutely brutal, textbook Livi, scrap in the second half. Had last minute equaliser written all over it. Ultimately though one of our best results this season in my opinion. There was a lot of time to dwell on that Dundee result. Then back to a tough game today (missing Strain, Baccus and Olusanya) against a team needing a win. The 3 points gets us back on track and puts the previous result to bed.
  17. Baccus suspended I think. Has reached the threshold for yellow cards.
  18. There's a sickness bug going through the St Mirren staff, looks like at least 2 players out: Concerned Robinson told Renfrewshire Live Sport: “We’ve had a bit of bug hit the club. We’ve had the training ground deep cleaned to give ourselves a chance to stop it spreading as much as possible. Fingers crossed, we’re hoping we’ve contained it. We’re two players down with sickness and diarrhoea and three or four of the staff too who seem to be dropping like flies at the minute with it. Hopefully we can stop it spreading and I’ll probably delay naming my team until Saturday morning. I’m feeling fine. I’m the only staff member now that’s never missed a day’s training - that’s a record to be proud of! Seriously though, we’ve got to try and keep as many players fit and available. It actually hit before the Hibs game. One of the players was sick during the game at half-time, but he’s now come back OK. We’ve got a small squad and we can’t afford to have four or five going down with it. We’ve got a few struggling that fear it might be coming on still. But it happens to every club at some stage, working in a closed environment where everyone trains together and showers in the same place. We’re just limiting the amount of contact we’re making with each other and hopefully we can get through to the international break, which will give them a better chance for time to recover away from the club.”
  19. I thought this when watching Sportscene last night: the game at Rugby Park followed by the game at the SMISA. There were only a few hundred more at our game but you could see banks of empty blue seats in Kilmarnock and the Aberdeen fans weren't even in shot. Away end aside, our ground looked pretty full with fans close to the action. No contest in terms of a football stadium experience. (And that's without mentioning the visuals of the plastic pitch....)
  20. Signed his death warrant with that interview. On the plus side for Steven, he'll be due wages until 2026.
  21. Oh yeah, we'll take it. I was referencing more McLean's reaction to the way his team played. Someone a bit more savvy could have said "we came to the 3rd placed team in the league, with a great home record, more than matched them for the first half hour, they didn't have a shot until close to half time which was the goal. A mistake for the 2nd goal killed us and we were poor after that. We're not too downhearted though and there are some positives like the return of Clark and the debut performance of Jaiyesimi." Instead he's just compounded his club's problems by throwing the team under the bus and coming across like a petulant child.
  22. And our first shot at goal was the goal. In the 36th minute. At home. Against the team bottom of the league. Anyway, we came good in the end.
