Watched The Two Escobar's on Netflix. Showed the rise and fall of football in Columbia and it's link to the various cartels. It also follows the story of Pablo and Andres Escobar , the drug lord and the footballer from childhood to both assassinations. When the drug cartels were rolled up , the money for players and foreign coaches disappeared , leading to a downturn in the national team too. 8/10

The Exterminator Chances are if you had a video early to mid 80s you've seen this. A revenge thriller in the Death Wish / taxi Driver mould that includes a mobster being fed into meat grinder. Didn't hold up as well as I remembered , but , along with The Warriors and The Wanderers this was essential viewing for teens in the eighties. On the horror channel on Virgin and worth a look if you see it on the schedule. 6.5/10

The seethe on Kurt Sutter's twitter around this airing in the US was tremendous.worth looking up. One of the best characters in the series without doubt.

Mean Streets Scorsese's film about a rising gangster who needs to choose between his friend , Johnny-boy , or his mob boss uncle. Some familiar faces in it from other Scorsese work and The Sopranos. Enjoyed the performances from De Niro and Harvey Keitel. 7/10

Hearts And Minds A American documentary on the Viet Nam war from 1974 , which if it was made in the last decade you would swear Michael Moore made. Shows up the racism of the American war chiefs.

Following Comdr_hadfield , a Canadian astronaut on the International Space Station. He's tweeting pics of the earth from the ISS as he orbits , some amazing images.

Watched an hour of Twilight , when it was on the other night . That was all I could manage , it's truly one of the worst films I have ever seen ( and I've watched Vanilla Sky ). The acting was some of the worst committed to film. What happens when a vampire is hit by sunlight ? They ignite or crumble , right ? No , they go a bit shiny apparently.

I loved it too. I think going by the imdb scores , people were expecting another Apatow easy access comedy because of Rogen , but , got a darkly funny character study instead. Rogen was immense in it , I thought.

Good night on channel 5 tonight. Bad Santa and Superbad , one after another. Bad Santa 8/10 Billybob Thornton in fabulous form as the foulmouthed , safe cracking Santa. Superbad 8/10 McLovin. That is all.

Said on stv that they can claim up to 90 days wages. If it goes against them that would surely be quite a hit depending on the players.
