Found a quite interesting documentary about Tommaso Buscetta , the first major Sicilian mafioso to break Omerta and star in the Maxi trial , speaking out against the Corleonese and the terrible toll on his family for becoming an informer. It's called Our Godfather and worth a look for Mafia buffs.

Stalingrad by Anthony Beevor is on YouTube as an audiobook. Great listen for all day driving jobs or long journeys.

Che by Jon Lee Anderson
Birth to death biography of the Argentinian revolutionary. From growing up in Buenos Aires and travelling around the Americas during his Motorcycle Diaries phase discovering the hardships of the peasants being basically used by large American companies to getting involved with Fidel and fighting in the Sierras.
He certainly doesn't seem to have spared himself any hardship and was a extremely difficult and tough leader and foe . His revolutionary auditors/judges and his willingness to use firing squads seem to be passed over now and are discussed in detail in the book.
The later days of The Congo and then finally Bolivia show how his ideas about sparking revolution with just raising peasant armies didn't work well enough without buy in from the local left wing parties. Essentially betrayed by the local Communist party and finally tracked down and assassinated with help from the CIA , it certainly leaves a bad taste regarding the USA's attitude to aiding regime change in the Americas to aid business and build a bulwark against the threat of communism.

Great choice Shadow, everyone loves that one, pretty close to perfection, enjoy!
That one looks so much better than the blue one they released recently , that just looks dull as dishwater.

Replying to an old post, but that's not a Radio Room dial. Radio Room dials have an offset red or black cross across the face.
Looked it up and you're correct f**k knows what it is , I still like it

Not have to pay any tax on it?
eta. nice, like the nato.
Thank you.
Amazon included a import fees deposit , cost roughly £150 for the watch £30 for import and £8 for quicker delivery. Only European Recraft seller I could find wanted €330 , the robbing fecker.

I must be one of the only folk who thought 'Fear City' was bland shite.
I found it interesting because I recently finished a book about the New York Mafia and the RICO act and it's author , Robert Blakey and his struggle to get prosecutors to use the law correctly , Five Families by Selwyn Raab , was good to out names to faces.
It was more about the lawyers than the Mafia I thought which some might find dull.
Michael Franzese must be making more from these talking head gigs than he did during his time with the mob , he's been in all of the recent documentaries.

Watches this the other night. Decent watch , although the story's been told and retold.
The thing I took away from this is the fall of Rudy Guiliani from top prosecutor and basically the first person to correctly use the RICO statute and the leader of the team who took down the New York Mafia leadership to an absolute embarrassing pro-Trump nutjob.

Is it just the photos or do you wear your watches tight AF?
Just the way I've turned my wrist to try and get less light and reflection. I tend to wear them reasonably loose but tight enough so they don't fall down , if you know what I mean.

Star Wars
Saw it as an excited 7 year old in the old Kelburne cinema in Paisley late 1977 or possibly early 1979 , loved it ever since.

In timpsons make them an offer , I got a lifetime one for my Tissot PRC100 for £15 , think it depends on how busy the particular shop is.

The Vostoks are a great watch for the money , especially buying from Russia rather than the premium you pay for UK sellers.

Just watched this on Netflix.
First episode was great , good premise and a bit of a twist with Van Helsing being a nun.
Second episode , decent with another twist on the Demeter take.
Third episode : can only agree with what others have said , absolute dogshite , what a waste of a decent start and two good lead actors.

Been rewatching Buffy The Vampire Slayer on Prime. Some decent seasons and some absolutely cracking individual episodes.
The Wish , Doppelgangland , Hush and The Body are all excellent and the later The Gift
The all-singing episode , Once More With Feeling is far better than it should be.
Also one of the best theme tunes going.

Saw this in a shop in Tenerife a couple of years ago , where do you even begin to try and explain that something like that was still in use ?

At the crossroads between Maxwellton St and George St in Paisley is a horseshoe and memorial to where some local women were burned as witches. The local legend was that if the horseshoe was taken away the town would suffer bad luck until returned.
