  1. Off the post with two sitters, stokes missed from a yard out hooper through on goal.

I've already mentioned those first three - the only three good chances I remember in the game. I don't remember Hooper being through on goal at all.

We didn't play brilliantly but we defended pretty well, restricted their chances (bar the last five minutes of the first half and last ten minutes of the second half) and took our chances when they came.

All from a side who have hit 9 past you in the last 2 league games.

    Nah not fortunate at all.

Irrelevant. We also pumped them 2-0 at home earlier in the season and missed a last minute penalty to draw with them at Parkhead. None of these games had any bearing on the others.

Saying that hearts were unfortunate with the equaliser but then got a penalty in the 90th min.

As a neutral I would say you were fortunate. Hopefully we get the same fortune on Saturday and considering the breaks you got in the last derby at Easter Road we are due a little fortune in a derby.

There was a degree of fortune, obviously. But extremely fortunate? I don't think so. As for the second sentence, i sincerely hope not! Although we were worthy winners at ER last time.

  2. Celtic didn't create any decent chances in the first 35/40 minutes of the first half or the first 30/35 of the second half. I can think of 3 good chances they had off the top of my head; Ki hit the post twice and McDonald made a good save on the line. I could be forgetting some but IIRC the rest of their attempts were half-chances at best. Their equaliser was also offside.

    It was hardly extremely fortunate.

  3. i have to admit hearts fan are being a tad over confident for this final from what i have saw on this forum  that might come back and give you a right sore bite on the arse

It doesn't matter how confident we are, if we lose Hibs fans will milk the f**k out of it, and rightly so.

My initial reaction was of nerves. Hibs haven't won the cup in 110 years, they haven't beaten us in 10 games and now they have the opportunity to end all of that in the biggest derby ever. It almost seems as if they are destined to win.

However, the more I think about this game, the more confident I am. Guys like Beattie, Skacel, Webster, Zaliukas, Black etc. aren't just good players, they have a lot of character. They know what the game means and when the derbies come round they have always stepped up and put a performance in (maybe too early to say that about Beattie, but everything so far suggests he's that sort of character). We also have a manager who is very tactically astute, says all the right things and won't let the occasion get to him. I just can't see them bottling this, they'll be right up for it.

Of course it's a one-off game of football and anything can happen. The O'Connor/Griffiths combo does give me some concern, as well as the possibility of Zaliukas having one of his 'moments'. But this is a brilliant opportunity to win the cup for the 3rd time in my life and I think we'll do it. You can guarantee I'll be a bag of nerves on the day, though, and the game itself will be an absolute ordeal.

    I can't wait. cool.gif
