  1. He certainly would after she'd thoroughly kicked them.
  2. I've been anxiously trying to convince them not to come along. They've invited themselves, but I'm not keen. I go out on the piss to get away from her You've changed, man.
  3. It was an 18 month deal we gave him. I'd imagine he wouldn't be courted for a while yet until he's had a bit of time to prove that it's not a temporary upturn in fortunes.
  4. Looked a brilliant player when he first broke into the Sons team at 16. Hasn't looked as good since 'Well loaned him back to us, though he is much more built than previously. Wouldn't mind hanging onto him, but I don't see him playing SPL football.
  5. Is that right? I thought he got a 2 year deal last season, so this season was his last? If so then I'm happy with that, hopefully he'll go out and get regular games and come back to us next season. It's unfortunate that he's now 3rd choice centre half as he was previously a first pick, but he's still relatively young and going out and playing every week will be good for him.
  6. A player I really like, perhaps even more so given that he's local, came through our youth system and has played various positions for us. Sad to see him go out on loan, particularly given that this'll likely be the last we'll see of him, as with Nicoll and Lyden. I hope he does well at Annan and I hope to see him back at the Rock at some point. His partnership with Lithgow last season was crucial to us getting promoted. All the best, Martin.
  7. As I said the other week, Mark's got ability, but is still somewhat raw. For all we are likely to be paying him I don't have a problem with giving him a 6 month deal to see how he develops. In all likelihood we will get a (more or less) completely new squad next summer anyway due to the new manager factor and the nature of short term part-time contracts.
  8. Some wee guy just tried to post "you're a w****r" on my profile wall I've no idea who he is or why he's decided to post it, but he's correct so fair enough.
  9. Total shite. Is he someone who's been at Arbroath?
  10. If we're going to stay up (huge "if" obviously) then I'd let Lyden run down his contract at Clyde and move on. No point giving players contracts when they're not going to play and aren't ready for football at this level yet. If we go down then I'd want Nicoll back, of course. I'm sure Murray and co will be working on a longer term right back scenario to at least cover us until the end of this season, but the arrangement with Devlin gives us time to do so and cover until they get it sorted.
  11. I assumed that Buchanan and the other trialists were playing to give Murray a look at what's available. No harm in seeing if there's anything better than we have floating around. Since Nicoll and Lyden are on deals at Clyde until their contracts expire then I doubt we'll be seeing them back. We can extend Devlin's loan for another 2 months after January if necessary, so we have a bit of time to find a right back who can play there for the last part of the season.
  12. Everyone's welcome to stay at mine. But the usual house rules of stocking and suspenders for all will, of course, be in effect.
  13. Where Facebook suggests pages that your friends have liked, I just got the suggestion "Jimmy Savile; C. Muir likes this"
  14. I like him, but concede that he could be more industrious and defensive. However, I wouldn't object to us taking a punt on him as a squad player and trying to develop him. If it doesn't work out then no harm done. I don't think he'd be in the starting XI if he signed anyway as Murray was using him as a sub before his loan expired and seems to prefer Gilhaney and McDougall on the wings (and has them playing well).
  15. Ibis Hotel on the South Side is £39 a night.
  16. You'd be easily recogni... You know what, I'll just leave it.
  17. I was talking about the one with no toilet lights on. When I asked the bar staff "how much for lightbulbs?" the skinhead guy who was calling the shots whilst having a pint complained to me pointedly that they don't usually have to bother turning them on for their usual customer numbers.
  18. She thought it was a vodka and coke. Then I had to argue the toss with her and another bird to get Mrs M's drink changed. You just know they thought "toffs".
  19. Yeah, always been a centre forward. Reserve line ups are always weird and often have players out of position, sometimes from lack of numbers, or to challenge them, or just to accommodate someone elsewhere. I'm sure he will play again.
  20. Buchanan was wasted at centre mid so hard to tell. Right mid shite. Lamont decent, same as usual.
  21. I don't know, I can think of one particular South Side pub that wasn't exactly thrilled by our custom last time.
  22. Surprised Nicoll's been loaned out for the rest of the season. Murray's comments at the recent meet the manager event seemed to indicate that it would be a short term loan for fitness to aid his recovery. His deal is up in summer so I hope this isn't the last we'll see of him.
  23. Uninspiring, rake thin centre-half / right-back. Made his first team debut about two years ago and still isn't a regular. Best of luck to him if he's coming to you. I spoke to someone in a boozer before Christmas who said they knew him, I said something along the lines of the foregoing and their response was "Yeah, that's him". Could be a decent player, but he'd need to go out and play at a decent level regularly to find out as he's going nowhere at Sons. I saw him for the ressies a while back and he looked lost, but in fairness Jack Ross (in his 50 minute cameo) was the only player who didn't look lost that night. Nicoll's class in the battling midfield role and if we're going down this season then I truly hope that he'll still be with us for next season.
