  1. Niang not a player I'm familiar with, but positionally a sensible signing as he can reportedly play 8, 6 and 4. A couple of strikers now please.
  2. A headhunter and a hipster. Schizophrenic you
  3. I heard he's started watching Fulham and is voting for Reform.
  4. I am (also) a Killie fan, but I'm not displaced. I'm from Clydebank! Unless moving to Jamestown counts as displacement, in which case: guilty as charged.
  5. Don't make the mistake of replying to BSF, he's a halfwit Rangers fan. We all stopped reading and responding to his posts ages ago. One of those "empty vessels making noise" types.
  6. I don't think we need worry too much about the plastic team tenants. They'll have signed some St Pat's lads because Diamond was managing St Pat's before Broomhill. No big deal. They'll probably be lucky to survive as a club long enough to fulfil their lease with us, or will be off gallivanting again soon enough. Mildly irksome, yes, and not great for maintaining the pitch, but they're not worth getting riled up about.
  7. Defensive cover and a player who's already well bedded in. I doubt he'll be a first choice when everyone is available.
  8. Gary Locke proving he is an absolute puddin as a manager. Not that he needed to as he'd already proved it at Killie, but he fancied plumbing even further depths at Raith.
  9. Three good bits of business there with the addition, the re-signing and the sale. Happy Friday.
  10. That'll be because I don't play golf.
  11. Mainly played midfield enforcer for us, but can also play LB, left of a back three and central defender. Relatively quick, very physical and will tackle and do the dirty work all day. He's a bit too keen to charge into tackles and can be hot headed. He's a very limited passer of the ball, but makes up for that with aggression and work rate. He's a useful player for L2. The kind of guy you want on your team making the opposition shite themselves and making your ball players look good, but who'll get booke and give the ball away at times also. The type who probably needs to be starting every week in a settled role in a settled team to see the best of him. A Kevin Nicol type in some ways.
  12. Shiels being back is excellent news
  13. Recruitment is something Farrell and co are very good at, so I don't have any worried about how the squad will shape up.
  14. Surely Ross McLean's contract is purely a formality/technicality and he'll be released from it? After all, isn't it that he's unable to play due to work?
  15. Squad update: https://dumbartonfootballclub.com/squad-update-3/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR3z3ByG62_02XEjfbL4CFygiL_EUEeQlKN-WDbx4SfyqE2LpxUwN_WYPPY_aem_AQmnTI1KtjCt4yEi0wha1lXi_TsYliEFhyzl09ANfGMBvn5AjxM1REoEoCC6YgdHMBfcKdE_7z2EmTZT7FBorn8L
  16. If anyone has a free weekend and wants to watch a non Dumbarton game, go to Bankies or Yoker. The club secretary of Vale is an absolute w****r.
  17. Down at the stadium today and the new Trust director is busy making moves and being proactive in the background. The lad's doing good work behind the scenes.
  18. A win for football. A loss for the type of people who use Instagram and go to Wayne Lineker's club on holiday. Lovely stuff.
  19. So that puts to bed the very, very silly notion that we only ever take a maximum of 500 fans to big games.
  20. I think the club put on 10 buses for Cowden. Plus everyone who made their own way. We outnumbered the home crowd about 3 to 1.
  21. We took far more than 500 to Annan, Cowden, Airdrie, Celtic and Spartans. All of those were 4 figure attendances of Sons fans.
  22. Just got home from the game. No voice left. Knackered. No words. Pouring a dram to toast the Sons of the Rock.
