The defence badly needs addressed. I don't suppose Bonucci and Chiellini were there as well?

I genuinely forgot Lee Lucas existed.

I've just got a new car and need an excuse to take it a good run. I'd drive Heneghan to Reading myself.

Posted earlier in the thread that I was looking for a car and ended up getting one at the weekend from Arnold Clark.
To be fair, they did offer a cracking deal and I managed to get a car which looked to be over my initial budget but they worked out a deal which meant paying less than I'd expected. Go figure, but I wasn't complaining.
I sold my old car for £4000 and was anticipating using the whole lot as a deposit. Went to an Arnold Clark Volkswagen branch and they were doing a £1000 deposit contribution. On top of that I only had to contribute £2500 of my own money to get the deal they offered so I'm effectively £1500 up.
Pick up the car on Wednesday but happy with how things have gone so far.1 -
Is Anthony Straker under 21 with Northern Irish grandparents?

Looking at buying a car and the likelihood is I'll be going against everything that's been said in this thread and buying from the late Sir Arnold.
Anyhoo (this might seem a bit naive), when dealing with Arnold Clark are they open to negotiation on the sticker price? I'm selling my current car privately so will be going there with a cash deposit and I don't intend taking out any of their shitey service plans or anything like that - simply looking to buy the car and that's it.0 -
I'm just thinking out loud here tbh but my recollection of the playoff season was that we were just a shite team that lost every week because we deserved to, in contrast to this season where I think the general perception is we are a mediocre side that have been hampered by bad luck, officiating, injuries and decision making at times, without ever being quite as awful as the 14/15 team. Had a look at Statto and found it quite surprising that we are actually 2 points worse off than at this stage in the 14/15 season. Prompted me to think a bit more about both teams and I'm not really sure which could be classed as "better".

Pearson Lasley

Heneghan Mchugh Jules

Pearson Clay

McDonald Bowman
(formatting has fucked my 3-5-2)
Obviously we more or less signed half a team on #BaracloughDay and this current team are decimated by injuries making this an even more pointless exercise on my part.
Any team with Tony Straker in it is instantly better.
I'm surprised that we're 2 points worse off now than we were in 14/15. I suppose, in a way, we can count ourselves lucky that there are a few teams this season who are just as shite if not shiter than we are.
Hibs are going to come up (at least) and, I hate being that guy, but I would say they're better than all of the bottom 6 and will probably be eyeing up a top half finish. If we do stay up then we need to recruit well in the summer or this time next year we could easily be wishing for the days of seasons 14/15 and 16/17...0 -
I've never posted a link to Twitter on here so hopefully this works...

There's a video to go along with it. Enjoy!0 -
Best programme ever. Came across it my student days when I was free to spend my time watching daytime telly.
Seems to have gone a bit big time now with them going over to America. I think I preferred it when they bought average cars and Ed sorted them out in some garage in the middle of an industrial estate0 -
I see Nokia released a few handsets in China named the 3, 5 and 6. Apparently they're now being released here with the 6 being the top end model and selling for roughly £250.00.
Dont suppose anyone has any experience with any of them? Due a new phone next month and the 6 looks tempting.0 -
In Coyle we trust.

Can't see us getting anyone who's already at a club.

Happy enough if we give Robinson a couple of games to see how it goes but he strikes me as the type of guy who makes a better coach than an out-and-out manager and wouldn't be the best long term appointment. He didn't exactly do brilliantly at Oldham and I feel he might be a bit "Baracloughesque".
As I say though, give him a couple of games and I'd be happy to be proven wrong.0 -
English team appoints English manager who last managed in Scotland about 7 years ago.0 -
On the topic of Oldham, I saw a stat that Ripley has kept the highest number of clean sheets in League 1. Given that Oldham are fighting relegation that's pretty impressive.
I doubt it would happen as he probably sees his career in England, but if the opportunity to resign him came up in the summer I'd definitely take him back as he's miles better than Samson. Saying that, my gran is better than Samson.0 -
Kieran Kennedy is shite and looks like a p***k. Wes Fletcher is even shiter and looks like an even bigger p***k.

Rangers fans on Twitter really are absolutely raging that we've appealed McDonald's red card. Something that affects them in no way whatsoever.

There's yer Russell Griffiths signed on loan from Everton. I imagine that's Dean Brill on his way then.
Facebook account confirms Brill has left in search of first team opportunities.
Quite disappointed that we never got to see Brill but, as has been said numerous times, if he couldn't get a game over Samson he must not have been up to much.0 -
Just completed the Smolov Jr squat routine - holy f**k.
The Smolov routine is basically a 13 week programme of squatting 4 times a week with heavy weights. Smolov Jr. is the same idea but is only over 3 weeks. Even that was tough so f**k doing the full programme.
I've done strength training for a while but my squat had plateaued big time. Have been deloading this week to give myself a bit of a rest but will be testing my 1 rep max next week so if there's any improvement then the 3 weeks of hell will have been worth it!0 -
Is cover at centre back really an issue? McManus and Heneghan haven't missed a game this season and seem to be nailed on first choice. Ferguson has done well enough when called upon and even though they might not be in McGhee's plans, Kennedy and Laing are both still here and more than adequate back up if they're hanging around.
If it is Franks he's 26 and played 20 plus times for Stevenage this season including on Saturday there. So I can't see him coming here just to sit on the bench, especially as we'd probably have to pay a fee for him.
Maybe that's part of the issue? Mcmanus and Heneghan can f**k up like they did on Saturday but are guaranteed to start every week. Maybe a bit more competition in that area is something that Mcghee feels is needed.0 -
When I played for Wishaw Wycombe we were absolutely pish. The team had won the league cup a couple of years before I joined so all the decent players got picked up by pro youth teams. They were then looking for players so I ended up joining.
The strange thing was that the team I played in was full of decent players but as a team we were hopeless. I'm sure we only won once in about 2 years. In that game we played a team from Shotts in a friendly but we only had 10 players. One of their subs played for us that day and scored a hat trick which won us the game.0 -
Western Sydney Wanderers is such a shite name. It's basically the Australian version of Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers (familiar, I'm sure, to those who played boys club football in the local area).
You're not from Wishaw unless you've played for the mighty Wishy Wycombe.0 -
Would be disappointed if Brill left if it means we're stuck with Samson as first choice for the foreseeable future. Brill might be equally shite but hes never had the chance to show otherwise.

I must be the only one to like Craig Clay and I think he does a job. Maybe he shouldn't be a starter every week but he's a good squad player and, for me, he's definitely contributed more than Pearson has since he came back.
