I also thought Andy was going to lose yesterday. Gulbis was hitting big and Andy kept hitting his forehands short, which sat up nicely for the Latvian. Both players were guilty of outbursts as the pair were getting increasingly frustrated, as was I. Andy didn't play nearly was well as he can, but did enough to win the match against a stuffy opponent. Which is why he's part of the 'big 4'. Another test today for him in the shape of Mardy fish. Fish has the better of him this year, 2-0 I think. In both those matches Andy was on poor form and was very tentative. He said himself yesterday he is playing a lot better now and enjoys playing againt serve and volley players. Murray in 2 for me. Edit - This is the first match on the centre court again today. Roughly 5pm our time.

That was a strange match. Even though he won it 6-3, Murray didn't really seem on top in the first set. The second set was a bit like his second set against Monfils last week. It just goes to show if you lose your confidence and hit weak shots to ball-bashers like Chardy, you'll get punished. I think Chardy's medical time-out was the break Murray needed because when play resumed, he destroyed his opponent and the third set was pretty routine. The talented Latvian next for the big lad, I reckon he should win in 2 though.

Andy plays Jeremy Chardy today in the second round of the Cincy Masters. Livescore says serve-off is half 6.

Murray seemed to lose his way at the end of the first set - Monfils broke him and nearly again but he managed to close it out. The second set was a total write off - Murray looked off the pace both physically and mentally. The third set was more like the Murray we know. He needs to sort his head out if he wants to win in New York in a couple of weeks. Agree about Nalbandian, the chubby will mutilate Murray if he plays anywhere near as bad as he did in the second set.

He seems to have changed his forehand style. It appears to loop up and he jumps slightly as he hits it. Meaning it always lads short, thus making it easier for his opponent to hit a winner. I didn't see the match yesterday but one of my mates described his forehand as 'disgusting'.

Murray through to the quarters at Indian Wells after beating Nicolas Almagro 6-2 1-0 ret. Didn't see it as it was the evening match but the draw has opened up nicely for Andy what with Federer and Djokovic out. Got to say though, Nadal is looking awesome.

Did anyone see Marcus Buckland's potential schedule for the season? He wanted the Aussie Open to be held in March with a 'Sydney 1000' just before it. He also had Queens down as 'Queens 1000' stating 'tennis needs a grass court Master 1000'. Basically he wants a Masters 1000 right before a Slam.

Caught the final set, Tipsarevic was making some ridiculous shot and angles. It was one of those sets where you just knew everything Murray threw at him, Tipsarevic was going to deal with.

Beat some Russian lad 6-2 6-3 yesterday in the first round of the Dubai Championships. More unforced errors from Murray than usual.

Murray is in the papers today saying he expect Federer to be winning slams until he is 33/34. I have to say I agree with him.
