Kilmarnock v Sevco 5088
Owsley replied to deadasdillinger's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Lovely ending, great Superman dive from the Harry handsome. Well done Killie, well deserved. Hope Steve Clarke works miracles in his new job. Accies end up with a better record at Rugby Park than Sevco. -
St Mirren vs Dundee United
Owsley replied to Ray Patterson's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I bet they'll show plenty of Saints fans in the pre-match build up though. They completely ignored the Accies support two years ago. T hey we're desperate for United to win but with Saints having a decent support they might be less biased this time. United were impressive last night but the ridiculous penalty turned the game. St Mirren are unbeaten in six and I think they'll edge it in two tight games 2-1 on aggregate. -
500/1 for Accies to finish bottom. But will Dundee really lose ten in a row? After a good run at Dens, our recent record there is shocking. Dundee's only home win was 4-0 against us. I've seen enough crazy pick ups in form over the years, up here and down south ( Alloa's four wins in a row, Rochdale's amazing escape last season...Albion Rovers!!!) to not dismiss this possibility. St Mirren have already won at Fir Park when they were shite. They are now the form team in the bottom three. So if both results go against Accies, suddenly Dundee are buoyed and beat Livingston again and Accies face a St Mirren side in front of 5000 home fans. Yikes! It could be down to 27-24 going into the final day. St Mirren don't really care, they'd actually quite like Dundee to stay up for the extra finance. Accies fans turn out in their droves (1300) for the St Johnstone buttock clencher. Our bogey side going back about forty years. We've already had our win against them this season, we never get two. A draw is enough of course but an injury hit side slides to a 2-1 defeat while Dundee win by the same score in Paisley. Dundee finish eleventh on goal difference. And now I've said all that, it hasn't a hope in hell of happening...and I've just wasted a pound.

Kilgallon was a big miss. OK, he's been part of several thrashings but mostly away from home. Last three home games before yesterday, only two goals lost. Hope the injury isn't too bad. I think Ziggy plays better alongside him. Is "Canning's team would never have..." going to the stock response for the next few years. Maybe we could say Rice's team would never have won at Ibrox or won 3 -1 at Fir Park. For the record, I'm glad we made the change but let's move on.

It's The National. If it's not Celtic and Rangers they really don't give a shit.

Congrats Arbroath, well deserved. Backed you pre-season and just waiting on a couple of teams, 99.9% certain for nice wee return. Miss my trips to Gayfield, you never know, could still be going there next season!

Cheers, I'll let them off with that one. Maybe I don't notice it so much in programmes that have plenty of content.

Back in 2012, a few of us contributed some new features to the programme. We kept waiting for them to be used; finally they were included for the last match of the season. It made it so much better but the sales would have been poor as usual as nobody knew it was going to be any better than the usual dross. I've given up on it and tend to only buy one a season as a record of how appalling it is! It seems to be basically two people producing it and one of them has many other tasks to do. I dont know why they can't get some more professional help with it.

Some of these programmes by the smaller clubs, many of them non-league, put Accies' efforts to shame, and that's just the covers. Many years ago, Accies were up there with the best in the land. Now they must surely be the very worst. The same cover design now for three season, page after page of adverts (seven pages in a row in the one I have in front of me), very little on the excellent youth teams that they are usually not shy to brag about. An On This Day in Scottish Football feature that has wasted space for what seems like decades now. A recent banal example " 1956 Berwick Rangers signed full back Harry Airlie from Seaton Delaval". This one has four full pages of this guff, although it was a double issue at £2.50. They also waste half a page on an Unacceptable Conduct warning, which used to be a full page. Does any other programme do this? And what sort of effort is it where the final four pages are all adverts?

Why was Mullin not starting?

Speculate to accumulate...Just not in the case of John Gemmell.

Sportscene Watch 19/20
Owsley replied to Miguel Sanchez's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Agree with this, very similar to McGregor's on Lewis Ferguson, studs catching the player in the shins. Had it been a Killie player and he'd been shown a red, I'm confident that Stewart and Thompson would not be arguing with the decision. -

On Sportscene results, Jane Lewis said Thistle had just scored to make it 3-1, then she went quiet but you could still hear the crowd. Minutes later we were told it was still 2-1. -

The newspaper that supports an independent Scotland couldn't be bothered to mention the Ayr-Dundee Utd match yet had a large report on Arsenal- Man Utd which kicked off later and finished very late, so their usual excuse about deadlines doesn't wash. Had a quick look at their Sunday. Big article on FA cup but couldn't see anything on our three leagues outside the premiership. -
Surely a decent bet would be young up and coming tactical genius Martin Canning. Ex Hibbee. Steeped in Hibbeeness. Worked wonders on a shoestring. Would devastate Accies fans across the globe but that's football.

Yummy Fur - Annan twice. And he's kept us up for three seasons not five. You can't count our first season as Neil's side accumulated such a points total as to make relegation virtually impossible. He might keep us up for his fourth season in a row...might. Some of the abuse has been OTT but his record since last January is indefensible and any other club would have made a change. But I don't want Imrie anywhere near the job. Jim Goodwin or Stewart Petrie for me but that would mean behaving like a normal football club so I can't see that happening.
