  1. Yes, although that will now have expired. Not sure if he’s out of contract at queens.
  2. If that was my friend lying there I would probably have stayed beside him and been more concerned with that than gesturing up to fans or squaring up to folk in the dugout but he’s obviously a bit of a weapon. Not sure what triggered it off initially but surely he could have ignored any shouts instead of behaving like he did given the circumstances. The incident itself was awful but nothing at all to do with Gibson, hope Rico has a speedy recovery.
  3. Dreadful end to a dreadful season. Deservedly relegated on the park and a rudderless shambles off it. Worrying times. Don’t get what shouting f**k off at the few, clearly gutted players who came over to the fans at full time achieved but each to their own. There’s plenty of places to direct your anger but Kurtis Roberts and wee Scullion were hardly prime targets.
  4. Whatever happens tonight we need things sorted ASAP. Being involved in the playoffs already means we are a couple of weeks behind most clubs in terms of contracts and recruitment. Duffy is notoriously bad for last minute shopping too, I’m talking 7 signed players on the eve of the league cup campaign type situation. If we are planning to replace him I hope something is lined up to happen immediately (but I doubt it).
  5. If we can get an early goal Annan might start to shit the bed. Tell me there’s a chance someone…
  6. I think some of the younger guys could be worth persevering with scullion, Cameron and olly McDonald have shown some ability at times. Given they’ve been bedded in for a season and we will likely drop a level they could do a job. In saying that I wouldn’t be too disappointed if they leave. McLean is done, more than a few goals recently have been from balls over him and running in behind. Let’s just see how tomorrow night goes first as that may have some bearing on the budget.
  7. Our only hope now is that Annan shit the bed. Frustrating to be 2 goals behind as we were very much in the game until the second goal, which shouldn’t have been given. Tired badly towards the end and nothing on the bench.
  8. Blatant foul from that mullet nonce ignored, although Hynes should have cleared quicker. Could be curtains if we concede again now.
  9. It’s hardly an unhinged take to suggest a guy who busts a gut for the team is a preferred choice to a guy who looks like he can’t be arsed being there but managed to score a couple of tap ins. All about opinions though I suppose.
  10. Put as big, strong and fit an 11 as we can muster on the park Tuesday night. The idea somebody floated of going to 3 cbs to bring in McGeever is a good shout, as our full backs aren’t great. All about keeping the tie alive going into the second leg IMO, something Dumbarton failed dramatically to do. Something like this: mullen lyon sula McLean McGeever craig hynes cuddihy Roberts salkeld docherty
  11. I don’t disagree with a lot of what you are saying, tonight’s performance was a shocker but we were much better and more composed in the first leg so tonight was a surprise in that regard. Our home form has generally been better in the second half of the season too. Docherty puts in a power of work for the team usually, he was just back from injury tonight. He’s not a natural goal scorer but can’t fault his effort and attitude. I find Rennie far more frustrating, he is so lacklustre most of the time. Yes, he’s won us the tie with both goals but he doesn’t offer much in general play at all.
  12. Seen some East fife fans raging about the ref and sending off on Twitter. A clear elbow and only surprise it wasn’t a straight red. Also why were they then booing the victim of the elbow assault, absolute weirdos.
  13. Our away form is particularly abysmal, we’ve managed 6 points away from home all season and three of those were on the opening day in Dumfries. As such I would be reasonably happy with a draw tonight, given that our home form has been decent in the second half of the season.
  14. A 10 team league with FOUR b-teams is just a non-starter. If they absolutely must be in the pyramid (and I like many would prefer they were not) it has to be in a bigger league like it is now in lowland league to dilute the number of times you need to play them and to reduce the impact of their erratic team selections on the sporting integrity of the league. The problem is that playing at lowland league level is not a high enough standard to develop players for the best teams. Of course the conference league idea does nothing to address this which begs the question, what is the point? If they are determined to force in b-teams (at a better level) it needs to be part of a wider review. Something like a 12 team premier, 16 team championship and the remaining 14 teams forming a division with 4 b-teams would be the best of a bad bunch possibly. It would avoid relegating everyone in the pyramid, in fact it would effectively promote everyone by removing a tier. It would also be a must to introduce automatic promotion/relegation between the third tier and highland/lowland league. However, none of this seems better than just loaning players out to a decent level IMO.
  15. So jumping ship to share with hamilton hasn’t helped in any way and we’d have been better sitting tight at broadwood until something concrete was in place. Glad we’ve cleared that up. In terms of budget I have no doubt our attendances would’ve been better at broadwood, some games this season at hamilton it looks like we’ve had about 2-300 despite what the ‘official’ quoted figures claim.
  16. So if leaving Broadwood was such a step in the right direction, why is the projected budget for next season so low then?
  17. Agree, hence the reluctance to say just go for it and implode early on.
  18. 0-0 would do us fine, they’ve not got much to play for and a couple of players suspended after last week. Keep it tight and see how the game (and Peterhead’s game) pans out.
  19. It’s funny how it’s worked out as McGeever has been good for us too, although injured for the last few games. A proper no nonsense cb and a big improvement on Peter grant imo.
  20. Great goal yesterday, I was already out of the stand and down at pitch side, didn’t get a clear view of how it flew in so didn’t appreciate it was such a well hit first time finish. Sula did very well despite that big lad pushing him in the back to get a flick on. Battling performance and although we weren’t great we were always in the game. To quote Danny Lennon we’ve competed well in most games but had made a habit of always managing to lose them. It’s been nice to break that over the last 4 games. Next week will be a difficult one but hopefully with Dunfermline not having much to play for we can sneak a 0-0. It’s not impossible that Peterhead will beat Kelty next week and leave us with a very uncomfortable final day if we take nothing.
