  1. That’s got to be an improvement on what we have surely?
  2. There’s no argument with our current squad that Cuddihy should be playing every minute. Who are the four from Gretna? Ewan Cameron, olly McDonald, not sure of the other 2.
  3. The amount of late goals and penalties conceded this season is an absolute farce. That’s the last 3 games in a row we’ve given up a winner to the opposition after 80mins. It’s just a lack of bottle throughout the team. Also don’t want to single out Paul Kennedy as he’s generally been fine but why can he never play 90 mins?
  4. What exactly are this recruitment team bringing to the table? It’s bad enough they refused to speak up at the fans forum when given the chance but that aside the players we have recruited are mostly garbage. How much of a salary are we paying these guys because whatever it is, it’s money down the drain.
  5. He’s excellent and he can yours for the bargain price of £50,000. Cash up front and no returns.
  6. Thicot is an absolute horror show, hope we never see him again. Also what was the point in pursuing the Slovakian lad, with all the waiting for work permits etc for him to barely feature. We could have not bothered loaning out Cassidy or plucked another of Gretna 2008s ‘stars’ to fill a space on the bench if that’s all we wanted. There in no way Sula can be worse than Thicot surely.
  7. Same old shite that’s been the story of our season again today. If you’re starting the match with (at least) half the team nowhere near good enough then the results are no surprise, even if we out do ourselves in how we manage to get them. From that starting team today Parry is done (but far from the biggest issue). Lyon, Thicot, Cameron and scullion are all nowhere near good enough. Not convinced by the young boy at left back either. Which leaves you Peter grant, Kennedy, Cuddihy, Allan and Kurtis Roberts who put in a shift and at least looked like they could play at this level. Duffy is a horrendous appointment too, as I said at the time. The team and club are absolutely fucked. Led down this route by a board with no-vision and no ability to do the job. I dread to think where we will be in 5 years time.
  8. Why was broadwood such a millstone round our necks when two lowland league teams can afford to play there, one in particular with no support to speak of? That just seems an easy line to excuse our failure to compete. I wonder if season ticket sales include the £5 child ones. That’s a great offer and a lot of people would buy that as it costs £5 to get into a single match for a child anyway. Could be wrong on attendances as I haven’t crunched the numbers but it doesn’t seem all that busy and stand looks particularly empty in some of the highlights seeing it from the far side.
  9. While most of our time on here is taken up arguing over the arrangement of the deckchairs on the titanic, this is the question that needs discussion. It’s looking to me like leaving Broadwood has been a colossal mistake, especially with nothing but pipe dreams in place. At least half of our support these days is from Cumbernauld and the surrounding area. The move to hamilton seems to have crowds down considerably, the hardcore are still there of course but a lot of the walk ups and occasional fans are gone. Can any business afford to so recklessly lose customers in the current climate? There is little prospect of making this up short term but have we even tried? Reduced entry for Accies season ticket holders / free entry for under 16s if accompanied by an adult, have we thought of anything to try and boost numbers at NDP? To me all our home games seem like matches at a neutral venue these days, it’s grim. It looks increasingly like we bailed out early to try and paint it as a victory for us instead of sitting tight another season and seeing what options arose. We were told by a few previous managers that broadwood itself was a selling point to players too, a very decent facility for clubs at our level, now we just a homeless club playing out of hamilton. If the move to crownpoint does come about it will be owned by Glasgow city council I assume and rented by us so how is this going to differ from our arrangements at broadwood? I can’t see GCC turning over pitch hire fees etc and all the extra community based monies to our coffers. What exactly are we bringing to the table as by then it might not even be ‘an SPFL club’. The financial projections for the next couple of seasons are grim and I again come back to us continually being told all the revenue streams we couldn’t tap at broadwood were holding us back. (Remember the mighty Annan and their social club being held up as a model of success). We are selling our own pints and curries pre-match at NDP are we not? Yet still it seems we cannot compete with even the top half of league 2. What is the vision for how we push the club forward? Answers on a postcard to the board please.
  10. Ending a run of 11 defeats with a draw that feels like a defeat. #progress
  11. Wait a minute, I thought Broadwood was a financial millstone round our neck and now that we are free of big bad NLC and serving our own pints pre match we would be much better off and able to at least compete with power houses such as (checks notes) fc Edinburgh and Montrose.
  12. Aye, you’re right. He consistently signed great players, it’s a mystery how he managed to lose 9 games in a row with such a great squad.
  13. I honestly can’t believe this, we’ve sacked Danny primarily for poor recruitment and employed the guy who signed some of the worst players I’ve ever seen. Bad enough the same shite players like Lyon reappearing now the same shite managers. I’ve tried to persevere through this shit show of a season but this is the final straw.
  14. Just relegate us now, and I mean directly to the lowland league. What a circus of a club.
  15. Can’t believe anyone is seriously suggesting Duffy. Are we wanting a return to the halcyon days of John sweeney and Pat scullion. Absolute dinosaur.
  16. Would rather see us go for a young up and coming manager rather than one of the usual dinosaurs that get trotted out for every job. Maybe a manager from the lowland or even wos leagues that has had success and hungry to progress in the game.
  17. At least at Broadwood we were only behind a boys team and a BMX competition…
  18. Having watched the highlights the first goal we conceded is very disappointing. Euan Cameron could have booted the ball up the park but loses it cheaply and Lyon absolutely done at RB. And it takes a couple of unlucky deflections in the build up too. As I thought at the time, there is f**k all wrong with Peter Grants goal, to see a foul on the keeper there is a joke. Kennedys first booking is a farce, but the second was stupid, the boy was going nowhere. Still not convinced Cunningham was offside when played through. Nothing wrong with the alloa winner, just incredibly disappointing to lose a goal (and the game) with virtually the last kick.
  19. Reckon we are going with Moore for the foreseeable unless something gives with the Danny situation.
  20. Can’t quite believe we managed to lose that today. Felt we were the better team for long spells and rarely under pressure from alloa. Kurtis Roberts played really well when used in his proper position centrally for once. The standard of officials was terrible throughout, almost laughably one sided. We had half a dozen bookings which eventually (unsurprisingly) led to a red when there wasn’t a bad tackle in the game. You are allowed to challenge a goal keeper in the air from a corner, somebody needs to let the ref know. Peter grant had a goal ruled out for nothing I could see, Ross Cunningham given offside when slipped through and still trying to get past the defence. A collection of baffling and frustrating decisions. Felt most of the players were playing for the jersey today and that’s all we can realistically expect, it’s not their fault that the squad is inbalanced and some players just aren’t good enough. That’s down to the recruitment. Giving certain players abuse from the sidelines isn’t going to make them any less shite I’m afraid. Finally, fair play to Peter grant for acknowledging the fans at the end and trying to encourage his team mates to do the same. We are on a horrendous run but hopefully if we keep playing like today we can pick something up soon. Our season is now basically a head to head with Peterhead for 9th and a chance to stay up via the playoffs.
  21. Surely questions need to be asked about that new 2 year deal he was given in April this year. What was that based on? We were on a run of 2 wins in 14 games when DL signed his new deal. We had literally just been spanked 3-0 at home off Peterhead. We only managed 3 wins in the full league season that weren’t against Alloa or East Fife. We are now left in a position where we are paying him for nothing for (potentially) the next 18 months. The decision making at board level is consistently terrible at this club.
  22. Be interesting to see if there is any discernible difference under Moore. He’s been an integral part of the recent train wreck surely?
  23. Anything other than a defeat would be a pleasant and unexpected surprise.
  24. Fraser Mullen, he’s looked decent tonight. But 6 years at a consistently dreadful Cowdenbeath side before signing for pollock. [emoji848] He wouldn’t be any worse than Lyon, that’s for sure.
