  1. Trump had no case merely the tactic of creating as much confusion as possible, thankfully the jurors saw thru it. My only worry is that Trump obviously plays by different rules and this will obviously be spun as the work of an "establishment out to get him" - as if The Don wasn't the uberchild of the Establishment.
  2. That's not my gripe from my initial post I've been plain there is an element of self interest in my POV. What amused me was the Falkirk fans feigned amazement that there could be a playing advantage to having these pitches, their absolute denial that there was any self-interest in their POV and to top it off the Celtic Clubshop jibe.
  3. The latest in a long line of non-arguments - according to Goodwin's Law (sic) you lose.
  4. Fair enough you've found a paper with a different opinion to mine but that's not outright proof that the "advantage" doesn't exist as I say just a different opinion but I see again you've ignored my EPL point - there's a clear and obvious reason for this. As I've said if the vote goes to allow plastic pitches I hope we install one as my main gripe is the hypocrisy of Falkirk and their fanbase, Is there a "Days Lost" prize cos I'm sure I'll be winning it today.
  5. And the EFL not allowing artificial pitches? My main argument however has always been the hypocrisy of Falkirk and Falkirk fans re the accusations of self-interest.
  6. ......and yet somehow the Dutch managed to as I've shown earlier in the thread.
  7. It's clearly not as I've so very clearly shown in a coupla posts.
  8. The EFL don't allow artificial pitches you said that their situation was different from the SPFL due to finances - in what way is that disagreeing with my argument that the pitches are beneficial to the home team? The quality of football in any individual game is less important to me than the result and it's quite clear that "astro" benefits the home team - this is not a fact that just occurred to me this season.
  9. Individual matches can go one of three ways, you accepted in your previous post that there is an advantage to be had in playing on a plastic pitch, quantifying it is more difficult, trying to do so over the single games mentioned above literally pointless (sic).
  10. Fairy Nuff but there's plenty of posts in the past coupla pages questioning/denying there is an advantage.
  11. Yeah, but it does give you one. I'm quite happy to see us vote in our self-interest it's no different from you & your clubs current bleating - we've been shafted by top-flight self interest in the past. ************** It's taken you quite a while to pull out the community asset argument so it's clearly not your main concern.
  12. There has been a general shift away from the use of artificial pitches in England too. They were once used by a number of big clubs – they became a sort of fashionable accessory in the 1980s in particular, but they are now expressly prohibited at the top level: the Premier League Handbook, which contains all of the competition’s rules, states that ‘no league match shall be played on an artificial surface.’
  13. I don't know, I've often argued we should install one. My main point however is the hypocrisy of you/your club accusing other clubs of self interest. Oh and red do away, I care not a jot!
  14. As I've already posted. Artificial Pitches and Unfair Home Advantage in Professional Football by Jan van Ours :: SSRN Your Home/Away record this season is merely an anecdotal/strawman argument.
  15. I've already shown that these pitches give an unfair advantage to the home club above, so let's not pretend your club's argument isn't based on self interest too.
  16. ......and there were no other factors involved in these relegations, are we meant to assume these were the only teams relegated during this period - strawman argument.
  17. That's a false equivalence as there are more grass pitches.
  18. Familiarity. Artificial Pitches and Unfair Home Advantage in Professional Football by Jan van Ours :: SSRN
  19. Because it's quite clear from results that having a plastic pitch gives you an unfair advantage. I'm assuming Dunfermline have one too. Sure we're voting out of self-interest just the same as the salty tears of self interest from the clubs with plastic pitches.
  20. If I was you I'd be more worried about your ex-Saints central defence combo for next season!
  21. Many of these other teams were living outwith their budget and would eventually default on their debts. The only top flight side to make a profit that season - IIRC some of the others losing over £1M! You said it man! Incidentally it is over 100 years since Morton finished as high as fifth in the top flight!
