Unless Sprangler is miraculously available then this has to happen for me.

Phillips is the only player we have capable of winning duels but we need more than that.

I wouldn't even be against the idea of having McGowan, Sprangler and Phillips as the midfield if we had Wright and Carey as wing backs.

Then Kimpioka and Sidibeh up front. You don't need Clark as a number 10 under some sort of pretence of making us more robust if you have a dogs of war midfield.

Win the ball and either get it wide or in behind. Simple game.

Don't worry, Levein has said MacPherson is going to add the midfield presence you desire.

Just heard Leveins post match interview.

Absolute nothing there, just a monotone acceptance of the whole situation, then a half hearted, still monotone, claim we can win 3 games in a row and it's not that bad really.

They were even putting the boot in on sportsound.

Interesting to hear he didn't think there was much between the teams. Must have his eyes closed the second half.

It's genuinely annoying me he's got his socks half down his shins while stinking the place out.

    I'm getting old.

He's pulled them up now, thank god.

Can tell he thinks he's a player. Awful. Hopefully he's not out for the second half.

Having no full backs available has made it more open than I expected but it's good to see us carry a bit more threat. Would have been a great finish from Benji too.

Looked really shaky defensively though and a real let off with the Macdonald header though.

It's 4-4-1-1 for sure, but with two left backs and nobody playing on the right of midfield, so on paper it's a 5-3-2

It's a shame Sprangler is injured as I'm not sure a proper 4 man midfield works with the other CMs, which is why I think Smith/Max and Gallacher go central a lot defensively.

It switches when we don't have the ball though. Robinson shuffles in and Gallacher drops back.

Big game for us, 3 points a bit of a must.  Really hope Hibs have downed tools and have minds on their summer holidays.

                        Mitov

    Keltjens Gordon McGowan Gallacher

        Wright Phillips Smith Carey

                  Sidibeh  Clark

I wonder if he'll be tempted to start both Kimpioka and Sidibeh given the kamikaze defensive line Hibs deployed at Easter Road. Think it will be three at the back again.

It would be a big boost if Wright's available.

    Excuse my ignorance.

    Who are BRFC?

    Berwick.

Talking of loans, I was interested to hear a few United fans saying McClelland has been looking decent the last few games since returning from injury.

Hopefully there's a player there. Would be one less player to find in what should be a busy summer.

I said as much a few weeks ago,  it's easy to play against and you don't have to have coaching badges to see it. Couple that with having defenders out wide who don't stop crosses and ones in the centre who don't track runners. It's a shite state of affairs.

The massive problem we have is whats the alternative? Jaiyesmi and Wright injured and Connor Smith - what a signing he looks btw - is nowhere good enough. No width at all. Would rather see May or Carey in Clark's role currently.

A worry Phillips going off. Not really getting the indifference of some fans towards him leaving as he's streets ahead of most the rest at the moment.

Goal from a cross is it?

    Shocked.

Can't decide what's worse the defending once the cross comes in or the non attempts to stop it coming in.

Lucky not to be further behind. Difference having Kennedy and Armstrong running vs Gallacher and Robinson playing endless static one-twos. That said at least we've seen those two; Max and Clark may as well not be out there.

  9. A couple of breaks with VAR somehow not giving a penalty for the Mitov incident and a dreadful touch by le fondre but defensively fine.

Sibedh has done well occupying the centre halves but need more from the other attacking players. Two wing backs need to be better and braver on the ball too.

Interesting to see what's going on motherwell - doesn't sound like the threat of playoff worrying investors too much there.

Hopefully we get some update soon with what's going on at saints.

  11. I think the most depressing thing about that was saints were nowhere near the worst they've been this season.

Probably deserved something from the game but the lack of cutting edge is painful. Every side coming to Mcdiarmid knows that they can let us have the ball and we're never going to do anything.

Dundee are competent and I mean that as a compliment. It's half the battle in this league.

If Saints want to make anything of the direct counter attack up to Sidibeh then they need to target Welsh more.

We've seen quite a few attempts at quick balls out to Sidibeh over a number of games, has he got on the end of any of them?

Saints could play all day here and not score.

Need to be better with the ball, Phillips seems determined to give it away unusually often. Robinson should do better at the goal I think but it's one of those that come from defending so deep. Good ball and run though. A lot of our problems have been self inflicted though.

Being a Scottish football 4th official must be a depressing gig. Trying to justify incompetency whilst two managers like McInnes and Warnock (for example - not that Beaton has been too bad today) are screaming in your face about it.

Tbf to mcinnes, thought mcgrath was a bit lucky there. Wasn't even mentioned in the commentary!
