  1. May and Middleton wide of Hendry in 4-5-1. Or bring on Sang too and go to a more traditional 4-4-2
  2. McCart to left back and, shock horror, change the shape.
  3. Brown on at left wing back. Keep hammering in those square pegs
  4. Probably says as much about the horrendously low standard set this season that I think that's been a bit of an improvement. Not as passive without the ball at least mainly because May and to a lesser extent MacPherson do more without the ball. Still poor with it. It's the same story needing a centre half to step out with ball or a couple of the midfielders to drop and take it. Neither happening.
  5. I'd agree and, if I had to stick with the same system, I'd pick May and MacPherson over the two they've replaced. I thought May was slightly harshly drop for Cifiti although he's not shown much from the bench recently. Harsh on Sang too. Seems from the outside some players are held to much higher standards than others.
  6. May for Cifici and MacPherson for Crawford
  7. Rovers was the record low home game. East Stirlingshire was away and probably the lowest ever at any properly competitive saints match.
  8. Remember Geoff's comments saying saints would have been fine in those days if half the people who claimed to be at the East Stirling game were actually there. The oddest thing I find about the attitude is that it should be the expectation. I've been going for almost exactly 30 years now and in that time we've spent 10 in the second tier and only once finished in the bottom half of that division (which took some comically bad management). We've also won 3 trophies, had numerous semi finals as well as European appearances. How long does it have to last before thats the expectation? Even if you look the other way in history, you'd arguably have to go back to the 50's to find a comparable period to the middle part of the 80's. Using it as a standard is total weirdo behaviour. The financial position of the club currently means top tier football should be the absolute minimum of its aims IMO. I'm not saying I'm expecting to never be relegated again but even if we go down the clubs in a position where with better leadership you'd expect to be challenging to come back up.
  9. Excluding Hendry, Chris Kane's total for the season is only one goal behind the whole squad's total from January onwards.
  10. To be perfectly honest, it was at lot more structured than the mess when he did it in the Ross County. Not much more effective right enough. Hopefully McCart avoids a ban. One of the very few that can hold their heads up over the last few months.
  11. Diabolical. The game the luck ran out. So few with pass marks and their all not here next season. It's depressing as f**k. We've wasted so much money this season on shite (Bair, vertanian, MacPherson) and shite bags (Crawford, Cifiti, Butterfield). I've not been on the bandwagon but I'm climbing aboard. Get him gone. Can't be watching that another season regardless of what league we're in.
  12. Played it in a league game around then too. Worked really well in that LASK game. That was probably the most mobile line up we've put out. The lack of pace in the current 11 is striking
  13. Have to disagree with some of the posts about Crawford above; still think he's not contributing enough. Yesterday, one of the most important games of the season, and he's barely involved. We were crying out for someone to drop and get on the ball yet he doesn't. He's scored 4 goals and no assists in 30 games for a guy who's pretty much only role in the team is attacking that isn't good enough. He's looked better mainly because he's got two guys beside him that will do the work. I'd still have him ahead of Butterfield and MacPherson but that's damning with faint praise.
  14. A really poor half hour after which I thought we were comfortably better for most the game. Dundee absolutely set up for us to start with just letting the centre halves have the ball and out battling in the midfield. How often did Hallberg and Crawford actually touch the ball in that first half? Sang, although he had a moment near the end, made a difference having someone with both a bit a bit of composure and mobility. Let Rooney drive on from RCB too. Hallberg involved a lot more too but had a bit of an off day in the final third. Issue always in that area that we currently have to play either Crawford, MacPherson or Butterfield neither of whom are either good enough or responsible enough for where we are. For all that, felt that all our good moments aside from the goal were still limited to something from nothing (Cifiti and Hendrys shots being the obvious example). Disappointed as others said that it felt we settled for a point the last 5-10 minutes.
  15. MacPherson, Crawford and Butterfield midfield three behind Cifiti. Heard it here first
  16. Can still drink in the centre and get the 28/29 up? Any nice pubs in Charleston?
  17. Best part of a million pounds earned from Europe this season if you include gate and TV money too. Think how much of that has gone on this horribly bloated sqaud.
  18. Makes sense to take the two players who even attempted to lay a hand on the opposition off at half time. Crawford and MacPherson together at parkhead. Grim.
  19. A self-pitying passive non performance. None of the players in front of the back five look remotely interested in taking any responsibility to try and effect the play with or without the ball. Hallberg and Crawford within 5 yards of the first goal and don't even look to help out. Rooney having to go out to right midfield as Crawford just lets Taylor run off him again and again.
  20. Absolutely appalling decision with the handball. Have to see the penrice one again, but looked really reckless. Not great from an attacking point of view but looked really comfortable from a defensive point of view. Never heard the East Stand celebrate a defensive phase where we push back an opposition like that! Rooney looked good. Thought Hendry should have come off too - looked absolutely done last 10 - can't risk losing him for an extended period.
  21. Both the Hibs and Motherwell games you could see Hendry getting frustrated with Cifici when they were trying to close. May's the one he seems to have the best partnership with, Middletons the one that gives an option behind and Bair is a complete wild card. With Bryson still out, agree with the line up in the last two posts.
