  1. Anyone running the National XC in Falkirk on Saturday? My name is in, thought I'd give it a go for the first time. Although, I rattled my toe off a door frame last night and I'm now hobbling about...
  2. Anyone ever accidentally deleted a run on your watch? Done a speed session with the club tonight and got in the car, looked at the watch and it said "activity discarded". Touch screen to blame, but not sure how I managed it. Raging.
  3. That is scary bad. Constant rumours of Avs and Sens trying to make a trade. Apparently the asking price for Duchene or Landeskog is Cecil, a 2017 first and one of White/Chabot (top 2 prospects, both have potential to be amazing). As much as it would be nice to get shot of Ceci, the prospects have to stay. Can't see them finding middle ground.
  4. The signing of Weird Cock and the Avs current predicament are not unrelated.
  5. What I heard was that they have a sponsor, but were dropping Clydebank. Not sure if they'll replace it or go with the 3. Shame because Clydebank can be a fast one.
  6. Rumours are that the Balloch to Clydebank half, Clydebank 5k and Clydebank Polaroid 10k all not happening this year due to not being able to access the Playdrome ????
  7. In fairness, sky don't talk about averages during a game if they aren't good.
  8. One of the more exciting games I've seen. Clan done brilliantly considering they had 13 skaters, and not all of them were fit.
  9. Impressive. There was a guy who done Linwood and Greenock double header pushing a buggy and completed both under 21 mins!!
  10. Anyone watched the documentary on Netflix about the Barkley marathon in Tennessee? That is absolute sadism. 130 miles with about 30,000 feet of climb? 40 people start it each year, less than 15 people have completed it in 25 years! Brilliant watch. The guy who organises it is mental.
  11. 960 miles. If I'd checked a few weeks ago I'd have tried to get to 1000!
  12. Taking the board off is pure filth from barney. Fucking superb. Beautiful [emoji7]
  13. After all these years, it still amazes me that Phil Taylor cannot fucking count.
  14. Mainly because of the way he looked, yes. That and he failed to make it pro at about 5 other sports before making it at darts. Nobody likes a show off.
  15. If you go back about 5 years in this thread, you'll find a fabulous treasure chest of Osborne abuse. Those were the days.
  16. There's a few that have fallen off the face of the earth in recent times. Newton, Andy Hamilton and my favourite, Colin Osborne. All wanks. Happy days. Met Chizzy a few times and played him once (lost 4-0...) and can confirm he is not a nice person. Him, Bunting and Michael Smith always played in the same leagues in St Helens. Bunting and Smith are 2 of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
  17. I just switched it on, why are the crowd against Gurney?
  18. Standard hasn't been brilliant here but very tense!
  19. "don't take me home" makes me pine for the days of "stand up if you love the darts" or even "boring boring tables". Muted TV it is.
  20. It was a fun night. I particularly enjoyed the double major powerplay, including 2 full mins of 5 on 3, where the score ended 1-1 over the 10 mins! Cowicks punch was stupid. Not sure how the refs thought that cross checking to the back of the head from the caps boy was just a minor though...
  21. Our club handicap race got a good shoutout on the Scottish Athletics Facebook page tonight https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1277186765658594&substory_index=0&id=139993569377925
  22. It is a lot of volunteering work aye! Thankful that only 6 of 12 club races are handicapped, but the next one is only 3 weeks away. Just seen the final results for our handicapped race from yesterday and notice that the winner ran 4+ minutes quicker than expected over just 4.5 (hilly and trail) miles. Oops.
  23. See, that's brilliant. Much better format. I doubt we could do that at our club given the reliance on garmins these days! We had the same idea yesterday with the setting off slowest first. But us 3 determine handicaps based on recent form. We ended up with a popular winner even if his handicap was generous. The complaints were ridiculous though. One guy has ran 1 parkrun in 7 months and said he wasn't turning up because of his bad handicap! Hard to judge when you don't bother. I ended up near the back because I couldn't give myself a good handicap or I'd be accused of bias. Nothing to do with running like a fud at all...
  24. How does your handicaps work? I recently took over the handicaps for our club with another 2 guys. The last handicap team quit due to constant complaining. We organised handicaps for a race yesterday and got a fair amount of criticism for some peoples handicaps. It amazes me that they care so much, handicap races should be more fun based.
  25. Haha, wasn't me I went myself... [emoji22] I did spot a group of guys doing this near the front, would be quite rage inducing if I was nearer them.
