  1. This new marketplace thing on Facebook is a great way to spot some absolute rockets, if that's what you're into. Or, also a good way to see pics of tidy burds in dresses...
  2. I wonder if he would have looked better in the Sens lineup under Boucher as he prefers a bit more speed than Cameron. Not sure it was a great idea binning him considering how terrible phaneuf and ceci have started. But, he was awful for 2 years. Maybe a player in there after all, he was a first rounder I think? Got to agree with you on bishop. OK, we got a terrible terrible return for him but he was and still would be 3rd choice. He should be second choice at tampa, but living off his playoff form 2 seasons ago. You seem to have a good amount of tampa hate. I like this. Can't say I share it, I save that all for Habs, Bruins and Leafs!
  3. I see that Patrick Weircoch has 4 points in 4 games with Avs this season. Just, how? He's dump.
  4. I like the sound of that session! Keeping the 1km efforts under 4 mins is good, and does give a long recovery! Our mile efforts session starts at 6 x 1mile with 2 minute breaks. The the next week, 2 of the miles are replaced with a 2 mile effort. By the 4th and final week, you do 3 x 2 mile efforts. Meant to build pace towards targeting a 10k pb, so we'll see how it goes at the Jimmy Irvine in 3 weeks!
  5. Do it. Track running is great, and interval sessions are really good for building up speed. Me and a couple of guys from our club have been doing 6x 1 mile efforts on Wednesdays for the last few weeks with 2 min recovery. Hoping to see some benefits in upcoming races. It's bloody hard!
  6. I was a bit the same when I got into NHL a few seasons ago. I wasnt fussed about Clan, but went just so I could watch the sport. I don't get upset if they lose or anything, and I find myself cringing at some Clan fans who get dead upset about it. Except when it's Fife. That's different. I assume they all support Raith so I want them to lose.... I have a soft spot for the Sharks, might say them or Nashville are West coast teams I like watching. Sens in Defrost tonight. Not played well yet but 2 wins from 2.
  7. I had a go at the short course cross country's the last 2 weeks. Both 4k, West district at Kilmacolm and Renfrewshire at Bellahouston. Ran terribly the first week and a lot stronger the second week. Quite enjoyed the experience though. Great to see Calum Hawkins running Kilmacolm. He was just flat out sprinting! Can't do the nationals at cumbernauld this Saturday as there's the small matter of Morton at Hampden! Anyone here done these or planning any XC?
  8. Unblock Us costs about 4 quid a month and allows you to watch every game through NHL.tv including playoffs
  9. The 40 minute pacer passed me at the riverboat casino (8.5k?) as I started much nearer the start line than him. I had found a rythym though and I wasnt for trying to keep with him. Our gun times were probably quite close, dont know how to find them though.
  10. Great running!! Your old pb would be very similar to mine. I was in no shape to go for it today but I did get round in 40.31, under my 41 min target. Serious knee pain from 5k. Old injury coming back to haunt. Just had to grin and bear it. Kept all my splits within 10 seconds of each other and a nice sprint finish. Hard not to go for that last 400m. Great theatre!
  11. The day before a half I prefer to have the big carb meal at lunchtime, something smaller for dinner and then porridge Sunday morning. I'm always paranoid about stomach issues... Good luck to everyone running tomorrow. 10k GSR for me, but not in shape for a pb. I'll take 41 now.
  12. Sometimes they do learn that things are shit and give up. Although I fear they'll say it's because the rest of the crowd aren't as good as section N or something so that's why it didn't work. As someone pointed out, at least 'Castle Clan' seems to have gone.
  13. Paisley Bushes? If so, I'd recommend it. Love the course. Also played renfrew and it's good, but I found it a bit of a slog off the whites.
  14. Good luck! Kilbarchan relays for me. I made a mess of them last year by doing parkrun in the morning and a full lap warm up to learn the course. I was done in before I started and struggled round in 18.50 (only 2.7 miles!!). Aiming for 17 mins this year. Anyone else going?
  15. Think about all the things that make you cringe about Braehead. Now put them all together. Now imagine something worse.
  16. Wins since introduction of Clan chant = 0. Just saying.
  17. The Brendon Brooks song last year lasted like 10 mins and was ear bleeding stuff. This Clan chant has been set up by Section N, but hopefully they realise soon that it doesnt sound good at all. I go to the games to enjoy the hockey and the atmosphere, just wish the DJ would concentrate on music and none of the sponsored icing shit. The new DJ doesn't 'get it' yet either. Hopefully the results pick up a bit, but at the end of the day I won't get upset about it and boo etc. What's the point? I'll save that for Cappielow...
  18. Looks like I've booked all the same races as you! I'm throwing my hat in the ring for a bunch of the XC relays etc as well with the club. Also looking forward to the Houston relays on Saturday (worst ever race there last year and need to make up for it!)
  19. Not done the Jimmy Irvine before but I've signed up this year. It's the week after the southside 6 so we'll see how the legs are!
  20. First clan game of the season for me last night. Good first period but died after that. Looks like a poor recruiting summer for us. Oh and that fan chant from section N before the game is so embarrassing. Not quite "team of Brendon Brooks" levels of bad, but up there.
  21. Drumchapel is indeed one hilly b*****d! Not knowing what to expect, I targeted 21 mins, which is 2 mins slower than pb. After one lap I realised that was a pipe dream. Made it round in just over 22. The hills are horrible, but added to that are the downhill sections. They are so steep and gravelly that I had no confidence to run down them fast to regain some time. I'd go back, just to try post a better time. Less than 30 at it though, can it survive on those numbers?
  22. A hilly b*****d of a run that! Probably not as bad as Drumchapel, but good luck all the same!
  23. I think I am approaching PB fitness, and PB at Greenock is 19.05. I think I can break 21. That's the target anyway. I say that, I haven't actually seen the course... Worst I ever done was Tollcross on a frozen morning and they went onto the alt route. XC route on grass up and down hill. I was 26 mins and beyond gubbed.
  24. I am planning to give Drumchapel a go this Saturday! I've been told that it is a killer and I should allow for 2 mins on my time. The first finisher was over 20mins last week...
