  1. Webster has been painful to watch. Looked great in his first week, beating Lewis, and since then it's been a disaster.
  2. Andy Murray in 'actually winning a match' shocker! Well, he won the first set 6-1 v Stepanek, and is currently a break up in the second.
  3. Good stuff Blue, very helpful. Had a solid return from laying against top 5/10/making the cut on the Masters, so I've got some funds to play with and try out some things. Going to try it out on maybe one league at first with a few quid on each outcome, and then if it's working for me, increase the number of teams + stake. About the NBA and MLB, I've always thought with the way those sports are structured, that it would be more difficult to make an educated prediction. What I mean by that is like how there are so many more games per season in those leagues than there is in football or the NFL, and players will often be rested, or only play a small part in games. I've seen NBA games where the team is up by 30, only for the losing team to claw back a lot more points in garbage time because the winning team has long since benched all their starters. Is there a way around things like this or is my assumption that this makes it tougher to predict winners just wrong?
  4. Ah, let the teuchters have their time. It's obviously a FAR better place to put on sporting events than Glasgow. That's why they get so many of them.
  5. Whitlock-Barney has been a great match. Both averaging well above 100.
  6. Wade - "I've got 6 titles, I wouldn't swap my career for his" GIRUY Lewis.
  7. Completely flat atmosphere for this match. Then again, with two clowns like Lewis and Wade, it's hardly surprising.
  8. Cheers Blue, sounds like a lot of work. I assumed it would take an awful lot of funds to properly back and lay all outcomes to a level where you could make a decent profit, and that seems to prove it. It's going to be a long time before I have the £1000s lying around to do that One more question about it; when you're backing and laying with your margins, and are having to reduce them through the week, is there a certain point where if they don't get matched, you'll just give up and leave them unmatched, or will you always try to reduce them to a level where they'll be matched, even if it means minimal profit? If that makes sense.
  9. Ah right, so that's why the lay option for some of the players are blank. I thought that was because no-one had been laying them, not because there is currently no-one waiting to back him. Right, cheers. If you don't mind me asking, what sort of laying do you do? I assume seeing as you're posting here it's football-related, but do you find more success in match odds, or scores/goals markets? I've been paper-trialing the scores market (0-0s) and whilst it seems to look potentially profitable, I've only done it very briefly, and I'm not sure if over the long run it would work yet.
  10. I've recently started laying on Betfair, and whilst it's been easy to do on liquid markets like Premiership and Champions League football, I'm finding it difficult to find matches on the Masters just now. This will probably seem like a stupid question to regular Betfair layers, but I don't understand why my lays aren't being matched. Example, Jhonattan Vegas to make the cut. £50 has been backed on him to make the cut at 1.7, and £40 on him at 2.02. However, if I try to lay £20 at these stakes, it won't match up, even partially. Why is this? The lay market apparently has no-one in it, at any price, so how have the people who backed those prices been able to do so, and why can't I lay? Apologies if I'm being a big gambling newbie, but help!
  11. Betfair rules: "a game must be played in its entirety (90 mins plus injury time) to stand as a valid bet" I had a fiver on Schalke, so I'm disappointed as well, but we're not going to get our money.
  12. It actually wouldn't surprise me if this was serious.
  13. Falkirk on a double, Slovenia on a 4-fold.
  14. I never said your logic behind why they gave out the free bet was wrong. I was just making a joke about why their tactic isn't going to work on me, and you replied with "missing the point slightly", when in fact I wasn't missing the point, but rather choosing to pretty much avoid the point. What you said actually makes perfect sense. I'm just not sure how they've come to conclude that I follow one of their "patterns" that would classify me as a losing gambler. I believe I've made 5 bets on that site in total, with 3 of them winning. 4 out of 6 when you include my RVB to beat Anderson in the darts tonight.
  15. Unlucky for them then that I was only there to make use of their free bet, and they've just given me another £20 free from which I won't be investing the majority of the winnings if it comes through.
  16. Welcome to Paddy Power Here at Paddy Power we appreciate our customers. To prove it, we have given you a free bet Thats rights, a no-strings attached £20 freebet! No need to deposit, no need to place 17 bets on obscure matches in the Premier League of Outer Mongolia. Just enter a promo-code as explained below and you will have a free bet to place on ANY sporting event of your choice. All we ask of you is that you enjoy it! Your bet expires on March 25th, so hurry up and check below for details on getting your hands on it! C&P from my email. All I had to do was put in a voucher code. Only thing I can think of is that I had a fiver on Celtic today on there and obviously it lost. Might be something to do with that, but I'm not sure.
  17. On the subject of bonuses, PaddyPower just randomly gave me a £20 free bet today. I've only been signed up for a few weeks, have made use of their £50 free bet when joining, and £5 casino bet. I've actually profited from them since I've signed up, and now they're giving me this. Can't knock that kind of bonus.
  18. I had County-Queens down as a draw today. My other 3 draws came through. £135, cheers County.
  19. Duh, because only people from the greater Glasgow area are scumbags and delinquents. The rest of Scotland is full of perfect, law-abiding citizens who would have no part in such disgusting behaviour.
  20. Jenkins in the main event.
  21. Glasgow makes the PDC a lot more money than any of the other places they could put on the card instead. It'll be back next year with Anderson v Barney.
  22. I've kept tabs on what I've deposited/withdrawn and when from each of them. I've been working my way through them all one at a time, which isn't hard to keep track of really. Bet365, Victor Chandler, William Hill, Ladbrokes, Paddypower, have all been done so far, and I'll be doing Betfred, Skybet and maybe 1 or 2 more afterwards. As far as bonuses go, I forgot to mention before that William Hill's offer is really good. It's only a £25 free bet, but the odds of your qualifying bet and free bet only have to exceed 1/5, whereas for most of the others it's around evens. So you could basically stick your £25 on something that's guaranteed a win, and then be more adventurous with your free bet, and potentially win a decent amount.
