  1. Aye, we'd be far better just randomly plucking a poster from P&B. I thought the ref was fine last night. Taggs tussle with Morrison was a good one IMO.
  2. I missed that flair incident. Agree, having a big crowd at the Indodrill is Great. Not so good when you are driving back to Falkirk and their are road works leading to a half hour delay though. Still the prospect of the Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon I got at Morrison's to celebrate Taggs cool penalty kept my spirits up.
  3. Really enjoyed the game and very pleased to get a, deserved, point. Tremendous effort from all the Alloa players, with the defence looking as solid as it has all year, Durnan making a real difference. Similar to the cup-tie I thought we didn't allow Falkirk to play with our pressing and direct approach, even if we overdo the latter at times. Obviously their subs made a big difference, as you would expect, while we could only bring on Adam King and the two young lads; credit to Rice for giving them that chance and they both did well enough. Good to see Doyley back in an Alloa shirt. He may not be the most talented footballer in the world, but he brings an energy and positivity to the team. Will be interesting to see what happens when Strachan is fit. Personally I would go with the same back three. How much has Daniel Church come on this year? Really grown in confidence and provides so many dangerous crosses; although I feel Sammon, McIver etc could read those better at times and pull off more quickly to the back post.
  4. When I parked in Morrison's yesterday I checked the lineups on BBC Sport and they had Doyley in Strachan's position. I thought, "surely not???".
  5. Right, how are we going to fit Doyley into the team? Answers on a postcard to Chipper Rice c/o Alloa FC, The Indodrill, Alloa.
  6. And win the Challenge Cup once in four attempts.
  7. I expect we are likely to avoid the on P&B consternation bringing them both back in would cause (where do they play, who drops out for Kev in particular). If LD wasn't fit enough to make the bench on Saturday then doubtful he will be fit for tomorrow. Unless he just wasn't well Saturday. Don't know why Cawley missed out? If it was work and he is available for this game then I would start him, likely at Coulson's expense, well though he seems to have played at the weekend. Clearly this is a real test. We played very well in the cup-tie and still lost. Falkirk seem to have achieved more consistency, in results if not always performance. On paper they have improved their squad in the January transfer window. Looks like the only changes they MAY make to the cup-tie starting eleven are Donaldson and either Allan or Burrell in. Either way I hope the game is as entertaining as that game and hopefully we can take something from it.
  8. Can't really see how that could be classed as negligible. Although I don't know the specific definition of "neglible" if there is one in the laws.
  9. Indeed. That was the season he broke the space bar on his keyboard!
  10. You could just as validly have said after the two previous Saturdays "if Saturday is anything to go by, we have a very good chance of making the top four". I get the frustration at Taggs and Church in the back three and personally would prefer to see Andy or Durnan in there. I also disagree with other aspects of the line up - I think when LD plays behind the front two we can be exposed in midfield, both from a ball retention and defensive shape point of view. Overall though things ain't that bad and certainly I don't have major complaints about Rice so far. As has been said, he can be properly judged at the end of the season. ETA Airdrie were outstanding a deserve great credit, I think, irrespective of how we played.
  11. I'll be very interested to see how Euan does at QP in the Championship. Don't think I've ever seen a player whose body language could be so poor, laughably bad at times. And yet often he was unplayable and looked like he was going to score or create a chance every time he got the ball. I don't know QP's formation(s), so it will also be interested to see where he fits into the starting eleven, if indeed he starts regularly; he might better suit coming on when games are more open as he is very quick. I really hope he does well and maybe earns himself a full time deal.
  12. Looking forward to this one. We've been decent the last two and a half games, so hoping we can continue that form. Obviously no one can predict BR's starting eleven with complete confidence, but injuries permitting I wouldn't be surprised if we started with the same eleven as the Falkirk Cup tie. In any case, a difficult one to predict, but expecting a good ninety minutes.
  13. Will be sad to see him go, probably my favourite ever cyclist. Hopefully he can go out with at least one big win. Very difficult these days with the number of incredible young talents competing, especially when you are past your best. Maybe that's why he's decided to move to MTB.
  14. No club would be stupid enough to hire both of them.
