  1. Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. Heist-gone-wrong thriller by Sidney Lumet, starring Ethan Hawke, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Albert Finney. To be honest, when I'd seen the reviews I expected a bit more. It was a good story and the performances, as you'd expect, were magnificent (Seymour Hoffman in particular as a yuppie slowly disintegrating into madness) but it didn't grab me, it wasn't engaging enough.
  2. Yeah, I'm just worried that it might affect my credit rating. I missed a payment on it about 18 months ago but paid up when they gave me a call. I haven't bought anything on it in over a year, just waiting to get a chance to chip away at it.
  3. Apparently Egg are closing the accounts of about 10% of their credit card customers. I am surely a target Haven't receieved an email or letter yet, but I only pay off the minimum each month adn was planning to settle up on my bonus this year.
  4. I collected all my change together in a bag and carried to Meadowbank Sainsbury's and the fucking change machine was full, meaning I had to lug it about the shop while I bought stuff and home. I asked the gormless little cunt on the checkout when the machine would be emptied, he didn't even say "Sorry I don't know" he just mumbled like a twark.
  5. Grizzly Man, documentary about Timothy Treadwell, lunatic or visionary who lived cheek to jowl with grizzly bears in Alaska for 13 summers claiming to be protecting them from poachers, hunters, the Park Service etc. Directed by Werner Herzog I think I have a lower opinion than Herzog on Treadwell. He seems to be a complete egotist, filled more with a sense of his own importance than anything else. The fact is that he probably endangered the bears as they were desensitised to humans, making them easier targets for any poachers, although very few bears are poached in Alaska. His ranting about how he hated the human world was classical egotism - he was a failed athlete and actor who seemed pretty pissed off that he hadn't done anything that matched with his inflated opinion of himself. Some of the footage of the bears themselves is absolutely breathtaking, including an amazing fight scene between two males - youtube link here. Treadwell seeme dto think of himself as a bear and tried to remove himself from the 'peoples world' into the bear world. This ended when he, and his girlfriend, were killed by a grizzly in his 13th summer. He had previously left but returned after becoming frustrated by a sdispute at the airport. His girlfirnd wanted to leave but they were attacked by a bear and killed before she could.
  6. Reporting Scotland, what a fucking absolutely shite c**t of a programme.
  7. I went partially deaf in one ear about eight years ago, so went to the docs and a busty Australian nurse syringed me better.
  8. If a dentist says you should get them out, you should get them out. Provided he's talking about wisdom teeth and not anything else! It doesnt' massively bother me, it needs done and the chances are if they stay in they will give me problems in teh future.
  9. My wisdom tooth is growing in behind my jaw bone, I'll have to have them all out. Probably cost me a minimum of £200. Chances are they will have to chisel out parts of my jaw bone to allow them pull the tooth out with pliers, can't wait
  10. I remember when I was a kid Clach playing with their 50 year old manager in goals because they had no players and losing the first 20 games of a season (or something like that). Compared to then, they are doing pretty damn well. I don't know if using them as an outlet for youth players would be very productive - since we've gone into the SPL we've sent players on loan to lower league clubs rather than Highland League. Rory is at Peterhead, Garry Wood at Montrose, Alan Morgan went to County, Zander and Ally Ridgers to Elgin City. The standard between what's needed in the SPL and Clach is too wide for us to get value out of it. We did send a few players to the HL when we were in the SFL I suppose.
  11. My fucking tooth is trying to burrow out of my gum whilst simulatanously tearing my jaw to pieces, it's fucking agony.
  12. Wisdom tooth is hurting. Cannot open mouth. Dinner was awkward.
  13. The Lives of Others - 9/10, brilliant film. Amazing performances, real acting rather than Hollywood mugging.
  14. Live on Youtube. Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
  15. Fargo, bought it last night on Film Flex. Brilliant film, haven't seen it in a few years. For what is an extremely bleak, dark story very, very funny. "Yea? Yeaaa!" I wonder what William H Macy needed the money for, what a performance by him as well as the rest of the cast, Steve Buscemi, Frances McDormand especially.
  16. I have loads of books to read: A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian - Marina Lewycka Tokyo Year Zero - David Peace Cold Granite - Stuart McBride I started reading Mao: The Untold Story by Jung Chang but found it pretty boring to be honest. I think I will start Tokyo Year Zero today.
  17. I just don't pay council tax and buy all my petrol from IRA run illegal stills.
