  1. Whether we are better or weaker than last season remains open to debate until the squad is finalised and season commences but: Cove for example, who i thought had better players than us last season, look to be miles ahead of us this year and to me look favourites bearing in mind their midfield could be Fyvie (FA cup winner) Draper (Scottish cup winner) Vigurs (nearly 200 premier league games) plus Jamie Masson & Blair Yule. Any of these would get in our side.
  2. There's was always the concern that Agnew's legs have gone and a lot of EF fans seemed to think that but too early to be writing anyone off yet. I'm been totally unimpressed with Quitongo but we'll see when the real action starts.
  3. Hard to judge with all the subs and the diabolical stream but O'Connor (right sided centre back) looked to have ability but an area of the team that would not be priority. Lyons & McDonald not sure of and Scally would be a definite no as another lightweight forward is not what we need. The 1st sub striker was a big guy but again not sure of but the 2nd sub striker (I believe the commentator called him Miracle Okpoah?) who started yesterday would be an emphatic no. Dean Ritchie, why?
  4. Trialist has just been subbed and i would doubt he will be seen again. Utter gash!
  5. There looks to be an imbalance in the squad from midfield to front as we look tiny with Gal being the big guy. I echo the sentiments regarding a striker but he needs to be able to provide an aerial threat a la Jimmy Lister!
  6. Scott Walker has it all to prove to me as I only seen an average hard working player but perhaps he will improve. Squad looks to be short on pace too which is a big problem. Agreed that we are desperate up front although Gal is a handy player to have around with a decent goal scoring record, but definitely a penalty box striker. We need to push the boat out for better though if we have any ambition for promotion.
  7. Agreed, I thought McCann's limitations and physicality got exposed in the Morton games. Having said that I would have preferred him to stay as he is pretty decent at league 1 level but I'm convinced he would struggle in the Championship. Good luck to him though as no doubt he has had a substantial wage increase. Turner didn't have his greatest games but he couldn't carry the team on it's own, again!
  8. McLean is a strange one and yes he has looked good against us but it seems that Montrose fans are a bit split about him. Stands out because of his height but Mo fans think he ain't that good in the air and a bit timid. Apparently he is not lacking in self confidence though and believes he should be at a much higher level!
  9. I would concur although so are most at our level and i've no idea who fits the bill.
  10. Get back to me in December lads and good luck.
  11. You've not seen Buchanan lately have you? Have you ever seen Mackay? Ok, fit guy whose effort can't be questioned, average in the air for a big guy, will put in a tackle but simply can't play.
  12. Josh Kerr just about the only player who has received unanimous approval. What an achievement.
  13. Not the season just ended but it seems he was the previous one. Not that it matters but it probably is just about last chance saloon if he wants to return to full time. "Frizzell initially joined Dumbarton on loan from Kilmarnock in October 2019, but a serious knee injury ended his season early and forced him to spend almost a year on the sidelines"
  14. Ah perhaps Adam Frizzell is over his injuries and can produce something like this
  15. I'm firmly in the "he's a dumpling camp" and never thought he would go up a level as i was delighted when he didn't sign a new contract for us. He's fit, athletic and has a long throw but other than that he has no other attributes especially with the ball at his feet, simply can't play. As has been mentioned his brother is to be avoided at all costs.
  16. Perhaps true as not a lot of us have seen them play much: Agnew - Top player at this level but has father time caught up with him. Great left peg and hopefully we can benefit from his set pieces. Success Wardrop - Done really nothing to date but suffered due to injury. He did catch my eye in the last game we played against Dumbarton, looked a strong player. I'm hoping he will be a real find and a quick google tells you that he seems a clever chap. Success Watson - Experienced player and seemed well liked by EF fans. Success Quitongo - Again not really set the heather on fire and Dumbarton fans don't seem to rate him. Worried Allan - Worrying that he hardly played for the side that was bottom of the league but it seems the Forfar fans were bemused by this. Worried I understand the frustration as we are all looking for a couple of marquee signings that are guaranteed to do well and excite us, lets hope there still to come.
  17. I'd be happy to keep him as he currently is a very good league 1 left back who can help us get promotion but i'm not sure he can go much higher. Thought he struggled physically against Morton.
  18. Frizzell is a strange one as he must have some ability as he racked up quite a few premiership appearances with Killie but seems to have lost his way. Didn't look the fittest guy in the world to me.
  19. Best news non signing news to date and i will be shocked if any of them move up a league. Reasonably fit athletic guys but no ability.
  20. Think a fee would be involved as he is contracted for another year at Raith and he said "his phone hasn't stopped ringing" since he was made available. Miles ahead of McCann in my book but probably now outside our wage structure.
  21. I'm neither up nor down with regards McCann as i thought he was one that was found wanting against Morton. Perhaps league 1 is his limit.
  22. Threw me of the scent when we mentioned "young " winger as I was thinking 19-21 year old. Remember him playing last season, never looked particularly fit to me.
  23. Of course you are assuming that all the players you mention will accept new terms. I would expect Currie, Kerr, Fordyce & McCann may attract interest from elsewhere, the rest probably not.
