Whether we are better or weaker than last season remains open to debate until the squad is finalised and season commences but: Cove for example, who i thought had better players than us last season, look to be miles ahead of us this year and to me look favourites bearing in mind their midfield could be Fyvie (FA cup winner) Draper (Scottish cup winner) Vigurs (nearly 200 premier league games) plus Jamie Masson & Blair Yule. Any of these would get in our side.

Hard to judge with all the subs and the diabolical stream but O'Connor (right sided centre back) looked to have ability but an area of the team that would not be priority. Lyons & McDonald not sure of and Scally would be a definite no as another lightweight forward is not what we need. The 1st sub striker was a big guy but again not sure of but the 2nd sub striker (I believe the commentator called him Miracle Okpoah?) who started yesterday would be an emphatic no. Dean Ritchie, why?

Scott Walker has it all to prove to me as I only seen an average hard working player but perhaps he will improve. Squad looks to be short on pace too which is a big problem. Agreed that we are desperate up front although Gal is a handy player to have around with a decent goal scoring record, but definitely a penalty box striker. We need to push the boat out for better though if we have any ambition for promotion.

Agreed, I thought McCann's limitations and physicality got exposed in the Morton games. Having said that I would have preferred him to stay as he is pretty decent at league 1 level but I'm convinced he would struggle in the Championship. Good luck to him though as no doubt he has had a substantial wage increase. Turner didn't have his greatest games but he couldn't carry the team on it's own, again!

McLean is a strange one and yes he has looked good against us but it seems that Montrose fans are a bit split about him. Stands out because of his height but Mo fans think he ain't that good in the air and a bit timid. Apparently he is not lacking in self confidence though and believes he should be at a much higher level!

You've not seen Buchanan lately have you? Have you ever seen Mackay? Ok, fit guy whose effort can't be questioned, average in the air for a big guy, will put in a tackle but simply can't play. -

Think you're going to be disappointed! -
Not the season just ended but it seems he was the previous one. Not that it matters but it probably is just about last chance saloon if he wants to return to full time. "Frizzell initially joined Dumbarton on loan from Kilmarnock in October 2019, but a serious knee injury ended his season early and forced him to spend almost a year on the sidelines"

I'm firmly in the "he's a dumpling camp" and never thought he would go up a level as i was delighted when he didn't sign a new contract for us. He's fit, athletic and has a long throw but other than that he has no other attributes especially with the ball at his feet, simply can't play. As has been mentioned his brother is to be avoided at all costs.

Perhaps true as not a lot of us have seen them play much: Agnew - Top player at this level but has father time caught up with him. Great left peg and hopefully we can benefit from his set pieces. Success Wardrop - Done really nothing to date but suffered due to injury. He did catch my eye in the last game we played against Dumbarton, looked a strong player. I'm hoping he will be a real find and a quick google tells you that he seems a clever chap. Success Watson - Experienced player and seemed well liked by EF fans. Success Quitongo - Again not really set the heather on fire and Dumbarton fans don't seem to rate him. Worried Allan - Worrying that he hardly played for the side that was bottom of the league but it seems the Forfar fans were bemused by this. Worried I understand the frustration as we are all looking for a couple of marquee signings that are guaranteed to do well and excite us, lets hope there still to come.
