  1. How much do you think Anderson is worth? He is 25 and scored a grand total of 6 League goals last season. So what sort of fee are Livi looking for?
  2. You should maybe read Cosgrove's trilogy of Detroit 67, Memphis 68 and Harlem 69 where he goes into great detail on the history of black Soul music and its effect on American society particularly in those years. Cosgrove has interviewed countless black soul artists and spent a lot of time with black soul artists. His knowledge of black music in America is probably second to none to anyone in the UK. He also has a huge personal collection of black soul music. I am quite sure he could provide a program on Blues singers without doing any research.
  3. Hope we sign Mcmenamin and if we don't yea I would take Bruce Anderson. However he only scored 6 League goals last season so for Livi to want an inflated fee we should move on. Unlike others I would take Fletcher over Main assuming Fletcher's fitness is ok for another season. Unlike Main he is a natural goalscorer and like Main he is a physical presence, just slower due to age. Ayunga is also be a great physical presence. I wouldn't be disappointed if Main signed on again but we need a goalscorer.
  4. In the last 6 months we have sold 4 players, 3 of whom were not getting a game. And the income is helping finance hopefully first pick players. Quite a turnround for us.
  5. Tait has hardly kicked a ball since October when he had a groin injury which didn't clear up even after surgery. He did appear to have resolved the injury near the end of the season however he would have lost a lot of fitness since then. Good luck to him whatever he decides. Certainly well respected down Paisley way.
  6. Totally agree. Just pointing out that he did get game time last season but he was never going to shine in a wingback position. He needs a defender behind him.
  7. Jay Henderson did play last season. His last appearance was up at Perth when he came on as a sub for Strain (injured) and was roasted.
  8. Apparently Bolton were offering wages no better than us for Baccus and his place in the national squad was under threat with this sideways move. Good to hear. And I doubt Hibs would be offering £500k for Baccus (inc add-ons). https://www.ftbl.com.au/news/hibernian-on-alert-as-baccus-backs-out-of-bolton-deal-597448
  9. If Fletcher signs for us it isn't for the money but for the glory! https://insidefutbol.com/2023/06/27/st-mirren-and-motherwell-battle-for-steven-fletcher-after-dundee-united-exit/608408/
  10. Hope we are at least asking about Behich at Utd. Excellent left wing back that we so badly need but probably out of our price range.
  11. Henderson would demand a development fee so that is where the money is coming from.
  12. When he returned from the World Cup he had a niggling injury but still played although not showing the form he had displayed prior to the WC. Didn't think it was anything serious so strange if true although he played for Australia v Argentina only 2 weeks ago with no mention of an injury. Anyway, have a good season and hope you get the promotion you are looking for.
  13. International clearance, work permits etc all take time. Baccus was known about long before the scarf pic.
  14. Just read that Aziz Behich wants away from Utd. Please, please use the Baccus money to sign this guy. Him on the left and Strain on the right would give us a great balance.
  15. Scott Burns now reporting Baccus going to Bolton with significant add-ons and an undisclosed 6 figures.
  16. We recently sold Ethan Erhahon to Lincoln City (who you play first game of the season) for allegedly £350k plus add-ons. I am not making a direct comparison here however Baccus is now a first pick for the Aussie national team and at only 25 is at his peak and has several good years in front of him. Unfortunately we have a habit of selling good talent for peanuts so maybe you'll get him in a cut price deal. I'd be gutted though at such a low price but I am now used to it. Best of luck in the season ahead but hopefully for us, without Baccus. And I am probably being jealous here but the money being spent on players in England is crazy, however they seem to want players playing in Scotland for next to nothing. We had Thiery Small on loan from Southampton for a few months last season and at 18 you can see the guy has talent but he was sent off twice in his short time with us and made mistakes all over the place yet Southampton allegedly paid £3m for him. Yet we'll accept maybe £400k for a full internationalist in his prime. Frustrating.
  17. Not in the least worried. We have been actively chasing some players but missed out on a couple of targets. Reckon we already have a couple ready to sign but with the manager being on holiday no announcements as yet. We need players better than we already have - no point in signing players just for the sake of it. Not in the least worried about who Killie, Dundee and Ross County are signing as we aspire to be back in the top 6 this season. Whether that happens remains to be seen but that is the standard we should be aiming for.
  18. We should remember that a lot of youngsters from the recent past were playing when we were in the Championship. It's easier to get picked and look half decent against Arbroath than it is against Aberdeen. It is a big step up to play as a youngster in the Premiership. Reid will be an excellent player in the future but he wasn't going to get picked ahead of Baccus, O'Hara and Gogic two of whom are full internationalists.
  19. Before the last game against Sevco at Grayskull Baccus was dropped with the manager stating that Baccus had picked up an inury at the WC and had been playing through it on his return. Hopefully we will see the real Baccus next season if his injury has cleared.
  20. Aye, well done. And it was great to see Clubs polling fans for their views. Not that many years ago the fans' views would not have been sought. So well done all those that told their Clubs to vote no.
  21. St Mirren have now voted no to a Conference League (I am happy to say).
  22. Well I am very disappointed Joe has gone as he was the best defender we had. Gallagher is 2 years older but I do not see any mention of him being past his best. Joe is rarely injured (unlike Gallagher) and poses a threat at set pieces as well as having the longest throw in by anyone in the squad. He is a model pro who doesn't throw toys out the pram and I would happily have let Fraser, Dunne or Gallagher go before Joe. Is he replaceable? Of course he is but still the best of what we had. Gallagher is very good when he is fit and not suspended but Joe provided the best bang for your buck.
  23. The manager recently said that he offered Joe a 1 year contract but Joe wanted 2 years which Robinson wasn't prepared to do. Joe is 2 years younger than Gallagher and doesn't have the injury problems Gallagher has had. Joe can also play on the right when Fraser has his mad moments. And Joe has the greatest threat at set plays than any other defender we have. While I like Gallagher when he's fit Joe would get my vote if only one of them was to stay. But Taylor, Gallagher and Joe is a decent backline.
