  1. Considering we are shite and bottom of the League we are still getting 3k home fans so think we will be going for a while yet.
  2. We supposedly had a left back all lined up but the deal has just fallen through for unknown reasons. Do not know if it was Waters or not. Just wondering if any of you guys had any information if it was Waters.
  3. Jim may be inexperienced as a manager but he along with Gary Teale were first team coaches under Tommy Craig in the Premiership. He was also involved in taking the U20's (who are relatively successful often finishing above Premiership teams in the U20 League). He is quite a charismatic character and very popular (and maybe opinionated) and is a born leader and winner. He has all his coaching badges and his ambition is to manage. And besides that he is still a great player and captain playing every week. His dual role, drive, enthusiasm, and experience would be a good asset to Alloa in my opinion. I do not know who he was up against but a player/manager would a good fit for Alloa for this season I would think.
  4. Congratulations to Goody - a born leader and has done some coaching with us. Think he will turn out well for you guys.
  5. Best of luck to Gordon with you guys. Out fuckwit manager signs him then decides not to play him in a side that is shipping goals and is bottom of the League but lets Gordon go on loan without giving him a full game (10 mins last week). If you want Rae as well then go for it.
  6. Ignore the haters and the folk with opinions that never even saw the guy play. Goody will walk that League. He is a fine player and captain fantastic. Anything else you hear is due to jealousy. I would have kept him at Saints but allegedly he was looking for PT football so he could start a career path outwith football.
  7. Sectarian singing is also a criminal offence but the police ignore what happens in a football stadium so running on to the pitch should be treated the same.
  8. He might have but I would not put a penny on it. He started with only 6 players so had a complete clean sheet and a decent budget. He went on holiday after appointed then went on a coaching course in Prague and by the time he returned pre-season was almost over and we were still scratching around for a squad. Most of the players he signed were binned either in January or at the end of the season there. The months under Murray were probably the worst football I have ever seen from a St Mirren team and that is saying something. But maybe he did learn and I am happy for him to prove it elsewhere but never again at St Mirren.
  9. Out of all the players we released I would only have kept Kelly. He is a good centre half or a left sided midfielder but we played him at left back. He had a decent full season in the Premiership and a poor one (like everyone else in the relegation year). This year Murray played him again at left back but he overlaps so much that his defensive duties are ignored. Rae brought in Irvine at Xmas as the left back and Kelly only started one other game that I remember as a centre half and played a blinder and never started a game again. Good signing for someone in the Championship I reckon. Take him before you even think of Agnew who is a headless chicken.
  10. St Mirren manager Alex Rae says Dundee made a "derogatory" bid for their 20-year-old midfielder Stevie Mallan. "As far as I'm led to believe, it has been knocked back," Rae said of the interest in the product of the Paisley club's youth structure. "We felt it was a bit derogatory from Dundee and it would take a lot more money than that. "It's just been knocked out the park really. I'm led to believe it is done and dusted as far as we are concerned."
  11. Decent player. Got injured and was sent back to Man City.
  12. https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/aberdeen-fc/dons-sign-kenny-mclean-for-275000/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/31094119
  13. Mclean only had six months left on his contract. He had been a free agent that summer but no-one was willing to bid as he had recently been injured. He signed a one year deal with a clause that he would go for any offer over £300,000 which Aberdeen paid in the January. With McGinn we also get 30% of any transfer fee from Hibs and we had a wee problem there as he was taking the Club to Court over Spearsgate. Letting him go for a paltry £130,000 was to move things on. Also to help him as he was being frozen out of football as we were entitled to a large development fee as he had been with us since he was about 5 years old.
  14. Our stadium is not stopping Wee Stevie turning in good performances. Unfortunately I think we gave Irvine 18 months or I would punt him.
  15. You can have Irvine back. Looks totally disinterested.
  16. McGinn was out of contract but we let him go to Hibs for a reduced development fee of £130,000 plus 30% sell-on fee. Mallan has another two years on his contract and his development fee alone if he was out of contract would be well in excess of 100k. And although playing in a poorer League that has to be offset by playing in a shit team. His scoring record from midfield is far better than McLean's or McGinn's and he is younger than the pair of them when they were sold. Hopefully this time we will play hard ball and get a decent fee for a player instead of giving them away.
  17. Cheers Ludo. I read that Dundee did not have allocated seats which I thought was strange so just wanted to check.
  18. Hey guys. Out of interest are your season tickets for a specific seat or do you sit where you want in the stand of your choice? Would you prefer to have a particular seat allocated to you or happy with the freedom?
  19. John McGinn had a poor season for us last season by his standards but he is an outstanding talent and still only 20 with 87 SPL games under his belt, a League Cup Winners medal and Scotland U21 captain. If Aberdeen were looking for yet another midfielder then McGinn would be a better bet in my opinion than Scott Allen.
  20. Rumour around here about Langfield joining St Mirren after his testimonial. Anyone know if its bollocks or not? Cheers
  21. On his game Kenny is as good as anyone in Scotland. He has been playing further forward recently and has scored more goals this season than Guidetti or Goodwillie and the same number as Stokes and half of his have been from midfield in a team at the bottom of the League. 8 Under 21 caps. An absolute steal for Aberdeen at the reported transfer fee. He is at least as good as Armstrong in my opinion and the difference in fees is mindbogling.
