  1. Yes, and they have probably burned a lot of bridges with the leagues and association that would have to sign off on it since then because that appears to have now completely died as an issue. The LL said a collective GTF to the required rule change at their AGM last year after there was no Club 42 playoff despite threats of the top LL clubs being excluded from the League and Challenge Cups in future.
  2. Thought they were alleged to have heated the two in question on a radiator before putting them into a bag? Can well remember trying to convince older relatives that it almost certainly had to be fixed and being told not to be so daft because the SFA would never do something like that. Odds of 1 in 6561 or is there a flaw in how I am calculating it?
  3. You could still get licensed next season and be eligible for promotion, if it doesn't happen this season. Only champions can get into the playoff, so no way in for the next best licensed club if the champion isn't licensed.
  4. Technically, they don't know that the 18 games have been completed in time yet. https://spfl.co.uk/news/ken-ferguson-steps-down-from-spfl-board ...A spokesman for the SPFL said: “Given that there are a number of uncertainties, including whether League 2 clubs will play 22 or 18 games this season, we are not in a position to announce dates for Pyramid Play-Off ties this season. Whilst we understand that this lack of certainty will be disappointing to supporters of Brora Rangers and Kelty Hearts, it is important that we are entirely fair to all clubs, including the SPFL club that finishes bottom of League 2 this season. Our approach has always been to apply the Rules that have been agreed by all member clubs, as well as the Pyramid Play-Off Rules agreed between the SPFL, the Scottish FA, the Lowland League and the Highland League, and we will do so again this season.”... If lawyers have been brought on board by certain clubs you have to follow the rules to the letter.
  5. The finalised post-split fixtures will be announced next week, ...
  6. Hopefully the holdup on naming fixture dates is mainly related to waiting for this evening's set of League 2 fixtures to be completed before providing the fixture dates for the four extra games in the two five team sections.
  7. You need to say mainline train station for it to work. https://www.libdemvoice.org/lib-de-mp-wheres-my-nearest-railway-station-in-norway-16495.html {yes I know it should be Bergen in the link rather than Oslo}
  8. With the exception of the Western Isles, the Lib Dems seem to do a better job of working out how to have a candidate viewed as representing local rather than a generic central belt driven culture. For example, if you want to represent Shetland knowing how to pronounce Lerwick, Whalsay, etc like the locals do among themselves is the sort of small thing they tend to manage to get right. There is also the way they try to resonate with rather than being affronted or gleefully amused by how many Shetlanders are ambivalent at best about being Scottish because of the Norse history angle. Maybe they get better candidates because it's one of the few areas where you can have a stable career out of being a Lib Dem politician. Jo Grimond vs Jo Swinson on career longevity terms basically.
  9. If the SPFL's lawyers tell them the same thing the SFA one's did I wouldn't count on that. There's no obvious get out of jail card this year unlike last year when the games could not be played for lockdown related legal reasons at the timing when they had to be played.
  10. Where would I be without P&B. Binge watched S1 a few weeks back. Great to hear there is a second season now even if I saw a youtube clip recently from an ex-Mafia capo called Michael Franzese who says he knew Chin Gigante and that what's in this show is way off in historical terms even though it's very well done.
  11. Have tuned out the latest music trends since about the mid-90s so have definitely turned into what I used to despise. Ed Shearan was a bit of a mystery to me when he appeared on Game of Thrones.
  12. Looking at it from a Salford City angle probably. His family also were heavily involved with Bury over the years so despite who he played for he's likely to be a diddy club man at heart.
  13. I was thinking quality as well as quantity when I wrote that.
  14. Well that shows that one of Brechin's main sponsors knows that the fix isn't in at SPFL board level and casts a new light on Ken Ferguson's departure. A move like this was to be expected. If I were a Brechin fan I'd be asking whether a bit more effort on signing players would have been a better use of his finances and energies.
  15. You could quickly come up with a reasonably strong new top six in England in support and interest terms so the threat is more credible there. Suspect this is a game of brinksmanship to get a Champions League format more to their taste.
  16. Completely made up nonsense. The rules were changed two years ago so that newly licensed clubs have to reach tier 5 before they gain voting rights at an SFA AGM so the issues some SPFL clubs had about protecting their interests have already been addressed.
  17. According to the Ken Ferguson website story the delay was partly because they had to confirm that 18 games could actually be completed by the middle of this week in time to issue dates for another four after that. There had also been reconstruction plans in the works that might have eliminated the need for the games. If all they are doing tomorrow as stated in the website story is assessing the eligibility of Kelty and Brora against SPFL membership criteria, it should be a formality and the Club 42 playoff should be announced for May 8th and 15th immediately after Brora vs Kelty games on the 24th and 1st.
  18. They do actually. The north region and what remains of the east region are probably going to be HL feeders from next season onwards and a lot of WoS clubs have retained SJFA membership with a view to future SJC participation. How long that will last remains to be seen but the SJFA is almost certainly still going to be around next season.
  19. Difficult to see any possible justification for cancelling the playoffs this year that could stand up to appeal so odds on it's happening. Last year it was legally impossible to play the games when they needed to be played so the two scenarios are not in any way comparable.
  20. No mention that the SS wing of the descendants of the Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg family got an invite and that he is widely believed to have had an affair in the 1950s with Princess Alexandra who is also there I take it?
  21. Even Brechin Vics can sign players to the same professional registration forms that Brechin City use.
  22. The ironic thing about this post is that regionalising things below the top tier of WoS would be the pyramid concept approach.
  23. ^^^an insight into what this guy's attitude is towards ex-junior clubs from former coal mining areas like West Lothian.
