  1. Given the other issue the SFA have to deal with right now it should be no surprise that issues that could be dealt with later were delayed.
  2. Worth noting that the SoS champion on points per game would be Stranraer reserves so there would be no need for a playoff for a single promoted team to be determined, if the licence can wait until the SFA AGM based on the discretion that the LL board have on that issue. Bo'ness United would be the only promotion eligible club. Difficult to see what they need contingency plans for if it isn't related to the promotion issue.
  3. Yes, probably at least two, yes, yes and probably four, no.
  4. 17 days to get a test result sounds a bit strange.
  5. Stranraer Reserves appear to have won the SoS very narrowly from Threave on PPG so there would only be one licensed champion (still to be rubber stamped at the SFA AGM obviously) under that scenario. So Bo'ness could be a straight replacement for Kelty in numbers terms, if the SPFL takes them and Brora. If not, and the LL expands in numbers terms they might want a second team from the EoS premier to reach 18.
  6. What some people need to bear in mind is that if the WoS is all about club driven decision making like the EoS then it's the former west region clubs who are going to be setting the agenda on what WoS does and doesn't do in the years ahead.
  7. Guess a lot will depend on how many ex-west region clubs steer clear of the SJC, STRUTHERS.
  8. They can use the EoS's Alex Jack and Football Nation Qualifying cup dates at the start of the season and clear any backlog after league and promotion issues have been determined in May and early June. As long as rule changes are made by the SJFA so there are no replays it's feasible without any midweek trips on a rainy night to New Elgin. What people should be arguing over is whether it's sensible to still participate when the SCC is also being played and will provide a higher calibre of competition rather than doing it indirectly with arguments that dream up misleading reasons for why it isn't possible.
  9. They would probably split after 26 games with 36 for the championship section and 40 for the relegation section. Less than ideal.
  10. 14 is also a very awkward number to do a split season with. Think it's more likely to be 12 in League Two.
  11. The contingency plan bit sounds mildly promising from a Bo'ness standpoint.
  12. ...and anyone who calls a scone a bannock, regularly wears a Fair Isle ganzie and a tourie and habitually uses du kaens as a verbal full stop is liable to get quite violent over this. Orkney can play in the NCL at the moment because the ferry crossing from Caithness isn't that drastic, but I'd question whether even that would last if the NCL started playing a normal 30+ game season as they might be expected to as a tier 6 feeder.
  13. The rebranded verson of Clydebank that call themselves Airdrieonians don't own the stadium due to how the bankruptcy of the old club unfolded. Vaguely remember reading somewhere that the Uni team actually do need to play their league games there as well as Scottish Cup games as part of licensing.
  14. FWIW Falkirk and East Stirlingshire both technically play in Grangemouth if you go by the old burgh boundaries with Camelon being the only Falkirk team in the pyramid.
  15. Not officially confirmed but seems a safe assumption based on who has posted about it on here.
  16. Luncarty, Newburgh, Lochgelly Albert, Lochore Welfare, Kirkcaldy & Dysart, Thornton Hibs, Kennoway Star, Rosyth and a youth club called Edinburgh South have applied. Eyemouth are returning after a year out.
  17. Maybe the way things are heading though at the youth level. Today's generation aren't learning the game down the local park the way Jim Baxter did. Everything tends to be organised now and that takes money.
  18. Out on Easter Sunday. I never saw that one coming.
  19. The EoS has its share of clubs that are going nowhere fast and joined because all their neighbours were doing so. Craigroyston almost folded this season, for example, and Arniston Rangers are definitely not in great shape when compared to Bonnyrigg and Penicuik. In the final analysis a pyramid system should include everybody and the clubs that have no ambition to improve and are in a constant struggle just to exist will wind up in the bottom tier.
  20. Newton Mearns is large enough that it definitely should have a club playing at a part-time professional level. Hope they get in. If BSC can play in Alloa in the LL an initial groundshare shouldn't be a problem.
  21. I'm sure there was a statement at one point that stated the WoS teams would play in the SCC and a league cup but haven't been able to track it down when I have tried to find it.
  22. Stick me on ignore like the rest when you cant handle the debate. You were gloating a few weeks back on here when you thought incorrectly that the barrage of abuse from you and your cronies had driven me into having a Dippleburn and Isa Goudie style meltdown. Your posting style didn't drive me away then and won't now.
  23. I'll leave you to stew in your own bile at this point.
  24. Sadly that appears to be what people like Bman wanted. If everything gets resolved sensibly as just happened in the west there are no more "dinosaurs" to feel superior to with a "pointy stick". The main thing is that the west has been able to get in intact and the north should be able to do it soon as well, so the unresolved issues in the east such as what to do about Tayside are no longer holding things back elsewhere. Hopefully eveybody else will have soon moved on and all the crankiness will be confined to the Bathgate-Harthill-Fauldhouse-West Calder-Pumpherston area.
  25. It's easy to talk about not taking part in the SJC on here where it fits the prevailing group think. Think club committee members need to remember that they will eventually have to explain to players and coaches why they are steering clear and that could be awkward if there is no alternative provided.
