Junior football, what is the future?
LongTimeLurker replied to Burnie_man's topic in Junior Football
Think it's basically a roundabout way of saying that there is no need for the SJFA to be involved and each region should be able to do its own thing. From what I remember the SFA initially claimed that they didn't have the resources to adminster the discipline and hence wanted the SJFA to do it, but eventually stated that they would be able to handle the discipline for four 16 club tier six leagues. Not sure that's still a major stumbling block. Think the main problem by far is what happens in the east where the EoS/LL say that they won't accept a second tier six feeder south of the Tay bridge boundary and won't accept teams from north of the Tay boundary in the LL, the SFA say they won't accept the ERSJFA's new north-south split format at tier six, and the SJFA still seem to be insisting that the WRSJFA and ERSJFA have to enter under their auspices at the same time with nothing being done about the Tay boundary. -
William Hill Scottish Cup 2019/2020

Good to see that common sense is being applied. -
That will get fixed once there is a west feeder and the conversation on crowds would soon become very different if and when the top west superleague clubs start to crash the party.

The Official Former President Trump thread

Try reading up on what this is all about before being so dismissive. Prince Andrew is in it up to his eyeballs where tabloid coverage has been concerned, which makes the death somewhat convenient for the powers that be. -
Monarchy and an Independent Scotland

Allowed to continue if she accepts that the new royal residence is a council house in Whitburn and she is able to get along OK with her new neighbours Rab and Senga. More serious answer would be to be like Canada and retain them as it's too much of a hassle to replace them but largely tune them out. Doubt independence is happening any time soon though. The penny hasn't dropped yet that hard Brexit genuinely could mean needing a passport to go to Carlisle. Seriously doubt Scotland has the bottle for that. -
On a Lowland League forum when the league still has Gala, VoL, Dalbeattie Star, Gretna, the Uni teams and a rebranded version of Edusport? That's really supposed to be a huge step up in quality from something like the old 12 club east superleague format?

You have no way of knowing whether that applies in my case or not. Most people with PhDs don't make a big fuss over it, in my experience. It's what you do over the next 40 or so years of your life once you have it that actually really matters otherwise it's basically just a piece of paper with some writing and a fancy seal.

Definitely entering Waffenthinmint territory with that in terms of being in his own little world with club nicknames. -
There are some depressingly dim people with PhDs in my experience. A willingness to stay in tertiary education longer doesn't necessarily correlate with IQ and there are some disciplines that are surprisingly light in academic terms. Take home message: having a PhD isn't that big a deal in and of itself and isn't necessarily something to boast about.

Don't think it's bad that way but not exactly an expert on the subject. More of an Accies fan when it comes to that part of the world. -
Kelty Hearts lowland league quest

Wasn't meant to be a criticism. Barry F no doubt has a higher budget at his disposal. -

I know Barry Ferguson isn't everybody's cup of tea because of the Rangers angle, but you look a division better in quality from the team you had under the previous manager. He clearly has some concept of what he's doing. -

Wtf? Can understand the need for sponsorship and all that but it's Castle Park you are looking for, if you wind up needing further directions from somebody fae Blantir. -
Cumbernauld was in an enclave of Dunbartonshire on the old county boundaries. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunbartonshire I'm skeptical that BSC would be determined by Alloa's location. Having Dunbartonshire clubs in the EoS catchment is consistent with Clydebank's now lapsed deferred membership for this season.
-
Bit strange. Maybe Glasgow, Stirlingshire and Dunbartonshire counts as EoSFA territory in senior grade terms? Clydebank and Dumbarton used to play in the Stirlingshire Cup after all.

Sutjeska Niksic will be challenging for Linfield, but almost doable because I'd be surprised if all their squad is full-time. Fingers crossed the Blues reach the group stages. The Champions path is a sensible innovation even if it makes life a bit more difficult for our clubs.

Assuming HJ is correct and he is likely to know, I suspect the divide is closer to the ken line (approximately Fauldhouse-Bonnybridge) than the salt n sauce line. Been a while since I've been going to chippies regularly but I think Falkirk, Stirling and Alloa are more salt n vinegar territory? You need to get into Fife and West Lothian before it's definitely sauce.

Not clear given at least one of them is known to be in the EoSFA.

Brexit slowly becoming a Farce.
LongTimeLurker replied to John Lambies Doos's topic in The Politics Forum
Best to stock up on plenty of tinned goods and other non-perishables, just in case. Boris is clearly hoping the EU blinks first, but they almost certainly won't. The Tory right is about to get a reality on how important the UK is nowadays in the big scheme of things, i.e. not very. Problem is they are taking the rest of us with them. -
OK lounging about at a beach resort, not OK at somewhere like the Louvre Museum or on a tour of Auschwitz.

Think we'll be having a general election soon if that trend continues for another week or two and the scary thing is that Corbyn being so dubious on Brexit will probably split the Remain vote between Labour and the Lib Dems more than the Leave vote could wind up being split between the Tories and the Brexit party.

Guess there needs to be a reason for having the alternative forum and the P&B board was going too smoothly for his liking. Think people should give the pyramid stuff a rest until there is another PWG meeting, because right now there is nothing new to talk about and all the known issues have already been done to death on here. The only thing I'd be mildly interested to find out at the moment is whether Petershill and Cumnock had their licensing applications accepted by the SFA Board and passed onto the licensing committee for processing as Dunipace did, but that's a topic for another thread. -
