  1. Parenting is not easy, for a start every kid is different in loads of ways, even doing what is correct or what you think is correct isn't always the right way for a particular child, the worst mistake I made was preparing one of them too well for school, unfortunately closed-mindedness, over eagerness, ego or some other shit had me thinking I was doing what was best for him, I was wrong big style.
  2. I wouldn't underestimate what a 14 month old understands, they're all different but some understand well before that age.
  3. Why would attendances increase? Games arent televised at 3 on a Saturday anyway, so taking away the TV deal doesn't affect those attendances at all. It would increase the attendances of Motherwell when they are playing one of the big 2, I'm not suggesting the playing field can be levelled but the gap could be lessened. Personally I don't think there's any way that we could see a level playing field, any ways of doing that would involve clubs forgoing cash in some form to benefit others, won't happen.
  4. It wouldn't, certainly not if the Champions League money still went to the Champions. I was thinking of it more as lessening the chances of getting to the group stages and all the other clubs home attendances against the ugly sisters might increase as the fans can't just switch on the telly.
  5. Having no TV deal would probably even out the playing field a bit.
  6. Not quite the same, but I remember Ayr cantering the league in 87/88 and scoring 95 goals in the process, never managed a goal in our 3 games against St Johnstone.
  7. We're just waiting for a frog with a winning Euromillions ticket to come along.
  8. The post was about someone thinking of someone they don't know, on here is no different, one of the 1st words that's used in a reply to someone having a catastrophe is sorry, that's a fair enough response if you know each other, pretty meaningless if you don't.
  9. No, people that don't really know who they're responding to.
  10. You see similar on here and elsewhere all the time.
  11. I thought you worshipped at the altar of similar politicians.
  12. Good luck to them if they are, at least they'll be paying their local paper shop.
  13. I've a fair idea how much of a shit his dad will feel at some point in the future.
  14. Being bad with your hands is not something to shout about Derek. Have a good day and hopefully the good cheer will arrive on the 30th,as Dougie Morton would put it, Ayr for Europe.
  15. Just tell yourself he's selling it to get the kid his dream toy.
  16. Can't say I've got much of the Christmas spirit myself but I'll just get up and see where the next 2 days take me. I'm pretty sure the good or bad of the next 2 days will be decided by how my kids(grandkids will all be fine) handle their 1st Christmas without their mum, they've managed remarkably well so far but who knows what'll happen.
  17. Personally I think that's why the suicide rates for young guys is so frightening. I only found meditation because I had told someone about the shit I was dealing with and they suggested it to me, it was just absolute hocus pocus nonsense to me in my closed-minded state but I agreed as I trusted the guy and nothing else was working, some of the most dramatic mindshifts in my whole life occurred due to how and what a bald lady in a gold gown was saying. Needless to say I don't think of her as just a bald lady with a gold gown anymore.
  18. If you could find someone that enabled you to get those things out in conversations I'm sure you'd get even more out of it. Easy to say not easy to find that person.
  19. Even for those who have no mental issues.
  20. Just watched coughgate, how does pipe think that's ok, even if it was a genuine cough it wasn't a spontaneous one that just happens in a flash.
  21. Fortunately I OD'd the time I tried taking something, won't do that again. The bottom line highlights why men can struggle so much when dealing with life, from our earliest days people are telling us to stop crying and be a big boy.
  22. Getting things out in any form is very beneficial to anyone with problems of any kind, I used to force myself to to do what would be classed as public speaking(just a therapy to me) to help me recover from compulsive gambling, I used to be absolutely bricking it but I gained at least as much as I gave.
