Saw a belter of one last night. Saw my pal with his pal from work's newborn wee girl on my twitter feed last night - the wee girl's been called "Baeli". I think it's supposed to be pronounced as "Bailey" but bloody hell.

I absolutely loved it. Brilliant to see him live, he's probably my favourite guitarist ever. Brilliant to see songs like The Headmaster Ritual get played - Getting Away With It was my highlight, even if he did get a bit angry at his guitar (tech).

I quite fancy drowning in a vat of something alcoholic. Drowning is apparently quite euphoric and if I can drown in Newcastle Brown Ale then I'll be quite happy. As for how my remains shall be stored, I don't want to be buried or cremated. In Paris Match in Killie there's an old Citroen on top of the toilets with a mannequin in the driving seat, and I want the taxidermist to sort it out so that I can replace said mannequin.

Hoping it comes on Monday in time for Germany's first game against Portugal now! Paid considerably less for it than some of the ones I had seen going for around £150-£200 on ebay, pretty satisfied with it given the photos I saw of it. West Germany = Best Germany.

Shah's Palace's spicy chicken pizza is fantastic drunk/hungover scran. Best I've ever had was in Berlin, had one with fried egg, bacon and black pudding on it. Scrantacular.

I know the drummer too, he's fairly well-connected it seems. MrCat, take it you did Commercial Music then? I must've been one of the years below you, I graduated last summer. Was playing the Dirty Weekender on Friday night with my new band, Point Blank - really enjoyed the Friday and Sunday nights. Alabama 3 were fantastic, great guys to have a laugh with before their set too. Missed the Saturday night but would have liked to have seen Herculean (since I know their frontman), Losing Ground (who are pals) and Fatherson (used to play shitey wee venues like The Cell, The Space Place and The Ark with them years ago). I love the Dirty Weekender, great acts every year and a good excuse to get pished with some guys I rarely get a chance to speak to. Just hoping it happens again next year, suspect the promoter will have taken quite a hit to get some of the acts to come and play.

Finished Reheated Cabbage by Irvine Welsh last week. Funny stuff, a collection of short stories from the 90s with one newer story put in at the end. Worth the £3 from Fopp.
