  1. I'm going to see him at the Grand Hall in Killie on Thursday night. Saw him at the Glasgow Academy last October and he was amazingly good - his set's got a very good mix of his solo stuff, Smiths stuff and he even does Getting Away With It by Electronic. I know during this week he's been playing a cover of Crash by The Primitives, so there's every chance he'll be playing that too. I genuinely cannot wait to see him - I love just about everything he's ever done.
  2. I remember one of my old lecturers told my class that he was in a pretty serious accident and that his wife had prepared a funeral playlist on behalf of him, and when he found out he liked half the tunes but wouldn't have liked the other choices she'd made he was a wee bit ticked off - so he made his own just to remove any doubt. That got me to the stage of making one too, but I lost the bit of paper mine was on. Anyway, I'd probably want And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda by The Pogues, an acoustic version of Don't Look Back In Anger and There Is A Light That Never Goes Out by The Smiths played at mine. I'd better remember what the other tunes were on the list too just in case it happens soon!
  3. Ryan Adams' cover of Bad Blood. For someone who really isn't into Taylor Swift, I've got to say I'm right excited to hear the full album on Monday. http://pitchfork.com/news/61239-ryan-adams-covers-taylor-swifts-bad-blood/
  4. I'm trying to find somewhere to park the car that isn't on-street near the Garage on Sauchiehall Street tonight. I don't want it to be too far away since I've to lug an amp and guitar stuff to the venue. Are there any good car parks nearby or will I just have to put up with feeding a meter as close to the venue as possible?
  5. Don't worry, we've managed to decipher that already without you telling us
  6. I like old, defunct flags. Here's the flag of the Greater Chinese Empire, with FIVE stripes. If you like striped flags, this is the flag for you
  7. I normally stay sober for it, but it was merited with how mad my other work was during the day. What a daft shift it was Nail on head sir And I'm having a ribena at present. It's rather nice
  8. Having a Newcastle Brown Ale while working. One of the few benefits of working in a pub but not being behind the bar. As per it's going down rather nicely.
  9. A guy I know from school on his twitter who likes Celtic and Arsenal was laughing about Arsenal getting more support on their Asian tour in Singapore than Killie get at a home game. Two points: 1. Well, duh, they're a major brand in world sport, it's probably to be expected and 2. Maybe if more people like him got off their arses and actually went to see their local team every so often - I don't know, every other week, for example - rather than get the bus up to see Celtic win yet another game, there's less chance of that I do like the guy, but he's too quick to put the boot into the diddy teams.
  10. I had one a few nights ago that I can only remember in small bits. I remember being in a Tesco with my girlfriend and we were in the cereal aisle and I wanted coco pops but she wouldn't get them and instead thrust crunchy nut corn flakes into my hand instead and I was raging because I really wanted coco pops. Then suddenly I was outside on a large bouncy castle that my mate said was run by Craig Levein. Man, dreams are weird
  11. Well, technically anything's a possibility! I don't want to get too carried away this year - especially not after our false start last year before we visited Celtic Park. While top 6 would indeed be brilliant, I think 7th is a fairly realistic goal to aim for at present. Given that some of our fans (particularly on killiefc.com) will be expecting, nay - demanding - us to finish in the top 3/4, I'm happy just to aim for doing better than the dross of the past two seasons.
  12. Looks like this guy's had a good day of business then
  13. I saw a suggestion similar to that on twitter last night Cardinal, Half Man Half Club Orange
  14. Given that this event is apparently about defeating misconceptions and opening themselves up, would it not have been a good chance to do that on a public forum such as Scotland Tonight, no?
  15. The fact that such an event is happening at all in the 21st century is beyond bizarre when so very few of those in attendance will have absolutely no idea what they're marching for. In other news, Fashanu-AFC really isn't very bright at all, is he?
  16. Platini saying UEFA will consider boycotting the World Cup in 2018 if Blatter gets his fifth term. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/28/michel-platini-uefa-boycott-world-cup-fifa-sepp-blatter Will Platini stop at nothing to ensure Scotland fail to qualify for another major tournament?!?!?
  17. Rather enjoyed Neon Waltz last night - place was about 2/3rds full but given it was a Monday night I don't think that was too bad a turnout. Good sound too, even if the singer's voice is very quiet. Managed to lift a setlist too, that'll go on the wall.
  18. Managed to get tickets for me and the lady to Neon Waltz at the HAC in Irvine for Monday. Not sure what to expect but we'll make a decent night of it anyway.
  19. My pal who I was standing beside at ER has Losa's tap from that day. I was convinced I'd be in with a chance of catching it as a taller gentleman, but as an even taller gentleman my pal caught it and refused to take it off until the next day. Edited because I cannot spell to save myself sometimes
  20. Managed to get 2 out of the 5 Maximo Park tickets I was after in the presale there. The site was such a cocktease - I almost had 4 when the site crashed a belter on me. Looks like I'll be up early on Friday morning to sort that out then.
