  1. Hmmm...you might have a point there, I often wondered why Clach sort of faded away.
  2. They'd need to get relegated first. We can but hope. ETA: Beaten to it as usual - should have read the whole thread first.
  3. Don't exactly see the correlation, but well done nevertheless - on both counts.
  4. The Highland League has lost Inverness Caledonian, Inverness Thistle, Ross County and Elgin City (arguably their 4 biggest clubs when they left) and Peterhead, no lightweights themselves (in HL terms), and it has survived, thrived maybe. Granted there were no TV deals predicated (allegedly) on the big 2 meeting 4 times a season (for the "big two" perm any 2 from Caley/Thistle/City/County) so it's not exactly analogous, but Scottish football will survive. I don't believe we are hurtling towards 5 teams going into admin "within the next couple of months". That would mean all 5 teams were in such a parlous financial state that they required to have a home game against (old) Rangers within 8 weeks of the season starting in order to benefit from their "massive" travelling support and so avoid admin. That just does not make sense.
  5. Are these runners-up totals computed on the Charles Green "200% profit" Calculator?
  6. A quick glance at the picture and I thought it said "Orangers Ticket Centre"!
  7. I agree - but when he was out of the side/off form we kept waiting for him to come back/recover form - now he is away we can't say "When Cahill comes back...". Might rejuvenate the team. Anyway, he's gone!
  8. Just because they play in green and white hoops doesn't make them a "big" team!
  9. Not for a Belfast Orangeman it wouldn't be - mind you, maybe not every fortnight!
  10. They won't be sending in bulldozers, then - it'll be the boys in the space suits.
  11. I didn't read it all, only 3 pages - it's real shake your head in disbelief stuff.
  12. That's the way it was up until 1976 - it probably stemmed from the fact that DU "only" got promoted in 59/60, and were probably not expected to survive too long, so the Dons v Dee New Years Day derby just continued. We used to play Saints on the 2nd, when, I presume, the Dundee derby took place.
  13. By the time this is posted no doubt it will have been answered - Dundee have replaced Sevco in the SPL, so Sevco will take over Dundee's fixture in the Ramsdens. If Dunfermline had gone back up Sevco would have taken over their fixture. Stranraer are unaffected in cup competitions by Sevco. ETA: Should have waited until I had read 4 more posts!
  14. Patrick Collins is usually worth a read, although he has his own pet hates, chief among which is/was Terry Venables. Can't recall who his present bete noir is off hand. ETA: I don't think he writes for the Daily Mail, just the Mail on Sunday
  15. Current standings in "First to1000 Posts In This Thread" race: wunfellaff 992 Claymores 989 pozbaird 982
