Did you want the forum to see my answer ( pal ) or do have a contribution to make ?

Peter Murphy has resigned a number of players for next season. Excepting of course Owen Moxon
who has signed for Carlisle Utd. Plus new players which Murphy has no doubt got lined up this looking
good for Annan. New pitch being laid as we speak shows how Annan are preparing. All the best lads!
I was getting hopeful there when i saw resigned FFS

Nope, can't agree... Celtic being utterly annihilated by Feyenoord on 1970 is fact not utter nonsense. Celtic being comfortably beaten by Porto in 2003 is also fact. The utter nonsense is the post that prompted my reply. A predictable and slightly tedious howl of hate from a Celtic fan who must know that their team will in all likelihood never again reach a European final.
In that case Kenny you were indeed annihilated in the league this season and last Wednesday.

It’s a sad state of affairs when we are being trolled by a munter from fookin Bonnyrigg. I fondly remember the days when we were trolled by munters from Dundee , Dunfermline and Berwick. If you told the young uns these days, they wouldn’t believe it.
This is where Bonnyrigg Rose belong to actually, sorry.

He saved Bristol from relegation and established them as a Championship club. Sunderland are a basket case and they still placed in third when he was punted.
Face value, despite supporters moaning he's about as good as any of the diddy clubs could attract imo. Seems an alright guy too.
Bristol City sacked him FFS. Good luck

Done better than Ross at Sunderland and McInnes at Bristol. Better track record down South than Neilson and Alexander also.
Hecky had no experience of the Scottish game when appointed. I'm actually quite happy at the calibre of appointment in comparison to Aberdeen and also Maloney. Fucking should have been Alex Neil in November though.
The Sunderland fans did not like him at all got called streaky there and Bristol ( wins a few followed by hammerings)

They were underdogs against us and against Airdrie. Fair play to anyone who thought QP were going up after winning 11 of their 36 league matches.
Anyway, hope you enjoy Bonnyrigg.
Pity the Edinburgh City keeper had a worldly, deprived you a visit to Annan.

Congrats guys, brilliant achievement.
Buying a promotion hardly equates to brilliance ?

I mean, I'd take pretty much anyone on the list above Strachan Jr. He only ranks ahead of reappointing McGhee & Rusk for me!
Most guys have their own academies tbf. Derek Soutar had a coaching academy, as did Matt Lockwood and James McPake. Doesn't mean I'd want any as manager! I'd maybe take KT as a youth coach based on what you've said, but definitely not manager - it's too big a gamble and another McPake-esque appointment. As I say, he might go on to be a top manager in the future but it'd be a nonsense appointment at present for us as he's completely unproven.
He's apparently in talks with Raith in any case so hopefully they beat us to it.
Please take Peter Murphy please please

I was at the game and couldn’t really understand the “Willie Collum is a disgrace” and “Arbroath had 12 men” stuff so I rewatched on iPlayer to check my maroon glasses. Michael Stewart was mental. He should be dropped for a while to calm down. For the straight red the defender put his arms round Jack as he fell and brought him down - a pretty obvious red and one that VAR would never overturn. The two yellows that got Duffy sent off were straightforward too. For the second one he flew in studs first with both feet off the ground and clattered Bobby.
Caley defended well but deserved every card they got.I thought Arbroath would beat St Johnstone I don’t think ICT can ( shame )

We owe Annan one for a South Cup Final they stole off us thanks to a hopeless refereeing performance the season Annan got into the Scottish League...
I wouldn't mind it too much if Annan beat us, it's a good trip down there and we've enjoyed some interesting tussles over the years. The first time I went to Galabank City lost 7-4 in a ridiculous East of Scotland match, there was the time Big Fozzy hit the electric wires that used to hang over one corner with a shy, there was a backs to the wall win down there with a patched up squad etc.
cowdenbeath is certainly right about Peter Murphy being underrated.
Please someone take Peter Murphy ASAP ( Keep McMenamin though )

No i have thought it through.
Teams such as Kelty and Bonnyrigg have been the trailblazers but it will start to level out now.
The top current lowland sides know they have to keep up.
Would Darvel beat Cowdenbeath like Bonnyrigg did? I’m not so sure.
Surely its all about money and whoever’s dosh is bank rolling them and when it runs out ? Because it will at some point

Conspiracy theories, betting irregularities, dodgy ref, dodgier decisions, poor pitch, slope, limited seating, walled dugout impairing view, goalie wiggling his belly. Is this The Blue Brazil getting their excuses in early in order to make this weeks ref aware, and preparing a list for a likely protest when the result goes against them on Saturday.
Time to get real folks and realise that your clubs time in the SPFL only has 90 minutes of life left. You should be talking/ moaning about the demise and lack of ambition from your club, board , managers and players over many years and you will drop through the trap door this Saturday unlikely to return for a long time .
C’mon The Rose
Granted she’s gargling but not over until she sings careful ( Joey Barton might be sitting with Donald )

Strange argument that one. Teams from lower leagues "batter" teams from higher leagues regularly in cup competitions. A team finishing 4th out of 10 gaining promotion is farcical.
Almost as strange as why mention this now when the situation was in place before a ball was kicked this season ?

Agreed. A team finishing 4th out of 10 teams has had an average season and should not be rewarded. It makes a mockery of the season.
The very fact that City battered Dumbarton makes a mockery of your argument ? You after weren’t the second best team, and Dumbarton were worse than second bottom of league !.

My first game watching Queens in the 70s the pitch was the envy of many many clubs. I watched Queens play Rotherham on under lights Tommy Docherty ( manager) said it was one the finest.

Just watched highlights and really enjoyed them!
Was at game yesterday and it sure was a game of two half’s. Forfar dominated first half and thought we were lucky to go in
only a goal down. But an inspired substitution by Peter Murphy changed game and we were right back into things.
Kept in second half by some inspired goalkeeping by Greg Fleming. Then a stonewall penalty Cooley put away by Tony Wallace.
Onwards and upwards Annan!
Also watched the highlights, why were the Forfar support booing at the end ? That was a penalty every day of the week.

Did a quick rough and ready comparison of Johnston’s and Gibson’s records this season and worked out roughly what would have happened if either had been in charge for the whole season. There is a bit of rounding involved, so not exact. Plus we don’t know how Gibson would have got on had Fitzpatrick not been injured.
Anyway, Johnston maintaining his record over a complete season would have produced
P36 W6 D10 L20 F38 A60 Pts 28Would have finished bottom.
Gibson would have produced
P36 W10 D6 L20 F29 A42 Pts36At 1 point per game, we’d have roughly the same record as Dunfermline and most likely be in the relegation play-offs.
There hasn’t been a dramatic improvement. Whether Gibson would have done any better with his own players is the great unknown.
Maybe second bottom is the best we could have got anyway given the budget. A Livi or an Arbroath doesn't happen all that often. If you swap Dunfermline and Arbroath in the table as it stands, teams would probably end up roughly in line with their budget.I’m thinking Newcastle and now Burnley, tho beit on a different arena ? Have ours in in heartbeat
