  1. We might not be anywhere near winning the league this season, but judging on today's performance neither will you. You'll run out of steam before we reach the half way point. Too many old legs in your team IMO. Not too sure about a gang but were a team and judging on today's showing (especially in the second half) a better team than you.

90 minutes of the season doesn’t decide the league, first half shire looked the real deal, second half too many failed to turn up which was a bit surprising. Hopefully by the time we get to Bonnyrigg in two week our players realise in this league you have to win the battle first before you win the game.
  2. Looking at Shire I know their was investment and yes its exciting for the season. I expected one or two star names from maybe league 2 and to bring in top standard Lowland League type players.  A lot of guys who have been championship and League 1. Not faulting the guys and good luck to the Shire. But if I was a shire fan, Yes I would be excited, but what is the long term future. When I look at Camelon our committees decisions for the long term. Young players obviously building up the youth structure.
I know Shire want back to the League but say they do it next year. Is this sort of Investment going to be their for the future?

No one knows the level of investment and quite possibly we may only have spent a small proportion of it, and the truth is without investment we were going bust anyway so let’s all strap in and enjoy it however long it lasts.
  3. Not as embarrassing as the "patter" from the Shire fans  behind the goals.
On the pitch the best team won, could easily have been four or five by half time. Shire came back into it second half but didn't really benefit from the soft sending off and aside from the deflected goal could only muster a header off the outside of the post at the death.
Don't understand why Ashe wasn't playing in a Cup Final - cutting off your nose to spite your face and Rodgers was a complete passenger for the entire game as BSC marshalled him totally out of the game. Ure getting booked within 20 seconds of coming on was so Derek.
Piss poor organisation as well, anyone could walk in free of charge via an open gate at the Peffermill complex end rather than walk round to the pay gate - counted about 75 folk coming in that way so although the crowd was given as 350 or so I'd think there was probably about another 100 on top of that.

Danny Ashe has a torn hamstring!
  4. Hopefully enough investment for a top 4 finish in the Lowland league next season lads. Get you in the Champions League at least.

This time next season you might be facing the prospect of playing the Shire to stay in the league Neilly, although word on the street is even you canny face watching Stenny these days
  5. BOOM!

    New Funding East Stirlingshire FC

East Stirlingshire’s Board of Directors have secured significant backing for a player’s budget next season as they look to push for a return to the SPFL after their historic relegation in 2016.

After a season plagued with inconsistency and managerial change the board, in recent months, have added international businessman Harry Bell, Asian business associate Sherman Lam, Local businessman and Shire fan Bob Worgan and Falkirk based bookkeeping firm owner David McCready to the Board of Directors.

Harry Bell international businessman and lifelong Shire investor has worked diligently for the last two years to secure this major investment for the Shire.

The move will ensure Derek Ure and Andy Rodgers have the necessary funding to build not only a title winning squad for next season, but one that can realistically return the club to the SPFL.
Despite their difficulties in recent years the club have never waned in their ambition to return to the SPFL amid constant speculation that the club wouldn’t survive the challenging financial constraints relegation brought with it.
It is hoped that the funding will also buck a worrying trend for Shire that has saw them finish second and fourth having struggled to adapt to the demands of the Lowland League. This season hasn’t faired any better for Shire. Nine losses in the league, more than the past two seasons combined, have left them 30 points adrift of leaders East Kilbride in sixth place-stats that are hardly indicative of a side with title ambitions. However, Shire’s recent purple patch, which has saw them go seven unbeaten, has demonstrated not only the current underachievement of the team but also the potential of a club still yearning to be amongst the 42 elite clubs in the SPFL.

Shire’s return to their ‘spiritual home’ in Falkirk, made possible by partnering with Falkirk FC, may not have translated to instant success on the pitch but it has provided a vital platform for the club to reassess and plan for the future.

While Ure and Rodgers continue to assess the current squad and its capabilities they have also been active in targeting and securing players for next season, although the club is yet to reveal any details as to who they have been watching.

Shire have also announced plans to run a reserve team for next season in an effort to increase the squad size and intensify competition for places.

Shire’s announcement is sure to renew optimism among fans as they prepare to embark on a fourth season watching their side play in the Lowland League.

  6. Wee team out on a cup jolly. Average attendances for the season would tend to show otherwise. [emoji4] Kelty have left the wee rose far behind in recent years, attendances are dwindling and if they don't get into Lowland league next season that will continue.

Somehow I don’t think many of them will be Jolly tonight.
  7. Yeah we played to his strengths yesterday. After watching the highlights I forgot just how many good chances we had to go one up or bring it back to a draw.

Disappointed that the Brisbane penalty claim isn’t in the highlights just so people could stop with the narrative that the ref cost us the game. I don’t think I’ve seen as blatant a dive and I can’t believe the ref even had to consult his linesman to give it as a dive.

The ref who was closer to the action and at a better angle gave the penalty then changed his mind probably after consulting with his linesman , I was too far away to say either way but one thing for sure Brisbane got to it first and was the only one who touched the ball.
