  1. Rodgers doesn't want to chase the ball and just gives up. When Tapping got sent off would have probably been better taking Rodgers off and putting Brisbane on because their was 3 of them up their not getting back.  Grantys a big miss. Be Lowland League next season for Shire.

Rodgers never chased the ball last season but still scored 35 goals, as for the Lowland league on tonight's performance maybe start having a look at the East of Scotland.
  2. I'm not defending him. Just said he was a quality player. the poster was trying to pick fault with him as a player. IT was his attitude not his problem as a player

David Grant has chosen social media to continually take a pop at the shire all I'm doing is giving the other side of the story.

  3. Wow a "world tour"? Really?

So you would have liked the club to rip his contract up then, but now you would rather the club held onto a players registration who is going to be half way round the world? Aren't football fans just the best [emoji85]

I think you are going to be very very disappointed and probably an angry wee man spitting feathers when the club announces they are doing the right thing.

Good luck to the Shire today down at Innerleithen [emoji1360]

What do Rangers, Motherwell, Stranraer, Annan x3, Montrose, Spartans and East Kilbride real team not the reserves they brought on the last day have in common???
They are all the so called bigger teams that we played last season and He failed to hit the net once!!!!! Stats don't lie Granty only scored against the wee teams!!!!

  4. Nothing to do with Canada Granty as you want to call him chose to go on a world tour before our season had ended rather than respect his contract, personally I would have ripped his contract up after the Selkirk fiasco but I can understand Sluddens decision for a bit of payback.

  5. Last season? How so?

Also "it's the least he deserves"?? Wow what kind of statement is that to make??

He deserves to be forced out of the game in another country because someone at the club is refusing to fulfil an earlier agreement they had in place?!

Whether Granty knew about there was a chance he could go to Canada when he signed the contract halfway through last season only he will really know.

Regardless, it's part time football Vs making the most of your life and grabbing an amazing opportunity in the job that pays his bills, is his career and passion.

Going and doing that. THAT is the least he deserves!!

  6. I thought our shape was better today although apart from one great header we never really looked like scoring. Today's Ref was dreadful sent off Kelbie for what looked like swearing and booked their player for diving when it appeared to be a stonewall pen.
    Draw probably a fair result.

  7. Is that not because falkirk council wouldn't grant planning permission for houses due to the way he conducted his business.

I hope shire go back to a firs park but not under his ownership as the man can not be trusted. Any word from the board if they are considering it an option?

I think the fact that he was refused entry on Saturday tells you what the board think about it
  8. Any particular reason Mackin is lurking around? I'm sure I read before he was at a game last season. He's the last man you want anywhere near the club.

He wants to redevelop the old firs park that he demolished then he wants us to rent it from him. Sounds like a great plan not!!!
  9. First game of the season and our new striker is posted missing at a stag doo, next week our new center half is heading to Ibiza although on today's performance that might be a good thing. My expectations were low for this season after today's performance they are non existent.

  10. I may have missed this earlier in the thread but have Shire fans enjoyed their first lowland league season? New grounds, new league, new rival fans etc etc or has it been shite?

Lowland league has been very refreshing, for me Saturday's have became enjoyable again, looking forward to next season which if we had been promoted wouldn't have been the case.
  11. Scraped through yesterday with a comeback from 2-0 down. Credit to the boys for that.

On the other hand we only had 12 available players and if that was down to injuries and suspensions that's fine, but I don't agree to players booking holidays during the season. Imagine that was Buckie we were playing yesterday!

One of the said 2 was also away with his burd for our first game against EK, I questioned his commitment then and he sent me a PM on here telling me how it was booked before he joined the shire Bla Bla Bla and there was no one more committed than him! Aye cheers for that Andy!
  12. Thinking about it as I've never been to Dalbeattie and interestingly it's the home town of the Titanic's First Officer who went down with the ship I believe. The league's over and we're guaranteed 2nd so the result's a wee bit academic but a Shire win's obviously nice.
However, as long as there's an entetaining game and more nice weather then that'll be splendid.

I wouldn't think about it too long supporters bus is pretty full

  13. Get real and be respectful. We are in this league for a reason and its much more enjoyable than meeting the same teams at least 4 times a season. Great wee grounds and fantastic hospitality. It's been a blast.

Although disappointed that we couldn't win the league can't say I'm disappointed to be spending another season in the LL. This season in the LL has made football enjoyable again.
  14. As an outsider who never got the chance to visit either of the old grounds in Falkirk town centre, what is the history re East Stirlingshire?
Why the ground share with Stenny rather than sharing with Falkirk at the new stadium?

The simple answer is at the time we left firs Falkirk stadium wanted a Fortune form us to play there so Stenny was the cheapest option although that might not be the case for next season.
