  1. Drew Ramsay will miss this weekend’s SFA South Region Challenge Cup match at Mid Annandale after suffering a broken wrist in Saturday’s 3-0 Lowland League victory over BSC Glasgow.

The Shire full-back played on despite the injury and completed the full 90 minutes at Ochilview. But after seeking medical attention during the week the break was confirmed.

He will not be risked for the game at Lockerbie against the South of Scotland League club but the length of his absence will only be established after further advice from the medical experts.

It’s a blow for coach John Sludden’s plans; he had picked out Drew as one of the key elements in Shire’s recent improved form at the back which has seen the team concede just two goals in their last four outings.

Everyone at the club is hoping for a speedy recovery and we hope to see him back in action before too long.

  2. Cheers for answering a question I was just about to ask!

He did come on as the no. 16 (very talll chap) didn't he ? Read the shire match report on the official site which said it was Murray who came on. Think I must be losing it.

Re yesterday's game though BSC Glasgow really competed well against us and their no. 8 was running the show for spells in the 1st half. As the game went on Shire did get more in control but BSC to their credit remained very competitive.

He didn't come on Murray, peddie and mcguigan were the subs used I was also told his first name was Liam
  3. How's the lowland league, chaps?

When we were relegated I must admit I feared the worst, but now a couple of months in I must say I find the lowland league quite refreshing. All the grounds I've visited have been very welcoming, £5 to get in £1 a pie and most grounds you can even catch a pint at halftime I think the big league should look and learn.
  4. Old saying,  depends what Gretna turn up.

We have a bunch of young players who are learning with each game.

Was a good win away in the Cup last weekend.

After Selkirk I don't think any Shire fan can go into any game with complete confidence of a win. Jamie Glasgow is a big player for us so hopefully he makes it.
  5. Yeah it should have been a draw but they shaded it in the second half, was just biting at the players that spend time checking this rather than looking at their own performances

I don't think any of the players have to worry too much about their performance today. My biggest concern would be the fact that spartans were clearly taking control in the second half and no attempt was made to change the game from the bench.
  6. Hope they're proud of themselves when they read this xx

Think this is a little harsh, today we were beaten by what looked like a bad decision and a team that probably played slightly better than us in the second half.
Spartans have a great setup pity they have no supporters.
  7. I've just watched the highlights, no idea how we didn't score 20.

I think the way yesterday went if we had scored 20 they would have scored 21.
The penalty summed up yesterday perfectly after Jamie made the save there was at least three Selkirk players who could have put the rebound in and not a shire player in sight!
Ricky Miller always gave 100% as a shire player so It was a bit disappointing that he became the target of some shire fans frustration especially when half our team didn't turn up.
