Question from Infowire thread - does anyone know when East Stirlingshire first got floodlights at Firs Park, and who they were opened against? 1965 / earlier as went to Kilbowie that year.
Can't answer that but the floodlights that were at firs park are now at Falkirk rugby club although they are obviously not the originals0 -
Sitting yesterday I heard a boy shout that the shire only had a history where EK had a future! Yesterday it was £6 and £3 the crowd was under 400 for probably there most important game so far this season so what is this great future that lies ahead for the new giants of south Lanarkshire??
Bankruptcy!!!!!!!0 -
Disappointing result but more disappointing is players going on holiday in the middle of the season WTF kind of a way is that to run a club?
Only plus is EK are not as good as their results suggest and I can only hope that rangers or Celtic are playing the next time we play them then we won't have to listen to the three Fanny's that were at the end of the stand.0 -
Jonny court any good? Montrose have just signed him on loan till january
Jonny started well but our manager at the time seemed to take a dislike to him and he seemed to spend most of his time with us on the bench.0 -
I'd hope that he drops Sludden CM and puts in Comrie just as someone who will track back to help! McGregor was good for tracking back but he'll play at RB for the season now.
100% agree I would prefer we got a new full back and moved McGregor back into the midfield as at present the team is unbalanced with too many midfielders who don't want to track back.0 -
While I have enjoyed the LL so far it is pretty clear that the standard of most of the teams we have played so far is really poor which has allowed us to play gung hoe football. However Saturday will be different and we will need more than Just Del chasing every ball.

Losing the old Byrson end killed the ground a bit. God Charlie Kelly in the Shire goals he was there for donkey's years!
Kenny Ashwood on the wing[emoji445][emoji445] my first ever shire hero.0 -
All I know is the official attendance was 166 and there was certainly more than that

166
I thought it looked more like 2200 -
Wouldn't be so sure wi that one, quite a few well known faces posted missing yesterday in what has probably been the best away trip over the years ?
whats the date for the return Shire ww fixture ?
18th Feb0 -
Don't worry, The Welfare will bring a decent rabble. Do you open that wee bar under the stand?
Unfortunately no but the ochilview bar is right next to the park0 -
I was at Stirling Uni v Spartans and there were around 20-30 Spartans fans there at a guess.
Yesterday we had a bigger support than our first lowland league game which surprised me a little.0 -
Shire are starting to understand what this league is all about. Do any teams bring supporters to away games?

How long has andy rodgers signed for you boys?
One month he's just back from an operation but I did hear that after this month Peterhead will free him but I do think he would fancy a club higher than us.0 -
Sludden needs to move fast and sort out some defenders as we were already looking very short at the back without this.

Our season ticket includes free entry to the title party
After Saturday's performance I think we should just concentrate on winning a game never mind a title.0 -
Was just about to ask the crowd anyone know?
Looked under 2000 -
Just watched back the highlights which looks as if it's amazing that we held on for the 2-2 draw. Andy Grant should also not be played at left back and Gavin McMillan should be nowhere near the starting 11.
I think we are a bit short in defence just wish we could have tempted Lloyd to come back as for Gavin I thought it was between him and Del yesterday for our best performer.0 -
Too many players not working hard enough. On today's performance I think it could be a long season ahead.

Scott Buist free to play on Saturday, bit of a surprise I expected an additional ban.

Montrose are hardly great shakes but it's tough to produce a shock, especially for us.
It'll be a tough ask to get a win so I reckon we use it as pre-season and focus on the Vale game. The LL is more to our level atm so let's focus on doing as well as poss in the bread and butter.
Montrose like shire have been kicking about the bottom of league 2 for years, I don't think it would be much of a shock if we beat them.0 -
What's the prices for the game on Tuesday with Montrose?
Probably the same as Saturday's game against Annan £10 / £50 -
Former shire keeper Calum Antell signs for Edinburgh city if he's anywhere as good as he was when he played with us that is a fantastic piece of business

Heard Tadek the secretary is away is that true?
Tad is still involved but no longer a director or secretary.0
