  1. I must say I too am suprised with the football played under Gus. Much more pleasing on the eye than I expected. I wonder how many games without a win before the fans are longing for the less pleasant but more effective style of KB. I very much doubt we'll be signing anyone else. I don't think we need to either to be honest as we are well covered in every position, and already have a larger squad than I expected. Whether what we have is good enough is to be seen!
  2. Anyone able to answer a query I have on the subject of season tickets and the new entry requirements? The company I work for have a season ticket from entering the shirt draw and offer this out to employees on a game by game basis. It's first-come, first-served or names out of a hat if more than one person wants it. Last season whoever was chosen was given the voucher for that particular game. Firstly, should they technically be allowed to do this or is the shirt draw season ticket intended for one person only? Secondly if/when I use it this season should I bring the entire season book as the new requirements state? As the season book will have the company name on the front not my own unless I bring a wage slip it's going to be pretty hard to prove how and why I've got that particular season book.
  3. Come on Skyline give me a break, why would you leave Livi for anyone, let alone those no-marks.
  4. Well that depends on a number of factors. If the expected boost to the Scottish economy from Livi winning the Champions League materialises we should be okay.
  5. McLaren managed to squeeze a hell of a lot of goals and assists into five games.
  6. Pacy, but lacking in an end product and a football brain. Has a tendency to take the huff, and struggles to complete 90 mins.
  7. Nice work embedding the podcasts Mr X, much better.
  8. Now we've lost Robert/Bob/Boab/Rob Harris we've got a new conundrum, is it Thomas, Tom or Tam Brighton? Surely folk aren't falling for the Fleck rumour? He's been linked with a loan move to us since he was just a nipper playing for Sperm United! Also the day he was supposedly in Dumfries he was on the bench for Rangers down in Blackpool. (A game that Harris played in as well).
  9. Yup my facebook has already informed me. Good signing I think.
  10. I'll wait until it's on the OS before getting his name printed on my shirt just in case! I actually thought he would've been signed up earlier tbh, as soon as he started training with us, and then continued to do so I never thought it was in doubt that he would join. Proving his fitness I suppose.
  11. It goes a long way to disproving KB's "anti-Weatherston" agenda though surely? Or did he only form the agenda after joining Queens and picking it up from Chisholm who must've had the same dislike for poor wee middle class Davie, because he also chose to not play him regularly? Or could it in fact just be the case that Weatherston although excellent on the very odd occasion is overall an average player in this league, whose cons outweigh the pros and is therefore hard to justify paying a wage to in financially tight times? The fact that after three seasons no-one is terribly sure where his best position tells a story about the impact he has made. Pleased to get Brighton on board, assuming it is true. St Mirren fans appear to rate him after his short spell their, and after getting a full (and fairly successful) pre-season under his belt I expect he will be more like the player they saw, than the unfit, injury-ravaged dud that appeared for Dundee and Stirling last season.
  12. Erm... still a big impact. Referring to McLaren as huffy is undermining your own argument as well because Weatherston almost as frequently could be found throwing his arms about and sporting a petted lip when things weren't going his way. Here's the cold hard facts for you anyway: Willie McLaren - very quickly snapped up by Hamilton, a team likely to be pushing for promotion from this league, and managed by the highly experienced, and respected Billy Reid. David "Pele" Weatherston - A bit-part player under two different managers at Queens, not offered a new deal by a third.
  13. We have the best manager in the league which is far more important than keeping hold of dross like Weatherston. Queens fans really require a reality check sometimes I think.
  14. Really don't fancy Johnston out on the left wing.
  15. All I can remember Brannigan saying about him was that he was a good player but lacked a heart. A statement I would say is 100% true. What else was said that people are taking issue with?
  16. This. Also when exactly did this "public undermining" take place?
  17. Simmons was an unpopular signing, and I too am now wondering where he fits in. Even if we factor in that McKenna will miss at least ten games next season due to suspension, and Johnston won't last a full season playing 90 minutes we do still seem a bit top-heavy in the centre of midfield. Ryan McCann training with us makes it even more baffling as I'm pretty sure he was back to his familiar midfield role with both Airdrie and Ayr since leaving us as a right-back. We surely don't need him in midfield as well, and I'd certainly rather McGuffie at right-back. Am I right in saying I read somewhere that Gus is looking to build the squad one position at a time? Presumably he is now happy enough with the defence, and this signing is surely the last of the centre mids. What does this leave us needing filled? A couple of wingers, a striker and a goalkeeper? I can see us signing Brighton, which I would have no complaints about, and maybe Weatherston will get a deal (better the devil you know and all that).
  18. Now confirmed on the OS. Can't say I know anything about him, but he is another defender/defensive midfielder. Do we need him? I assume that means McGuffie won't be re-signing which is a shame.
  19. Why listen to the informed views of successive managers though? "GIT THE YOUNG BOYS OAN!"
