  1. Aye okay...maybe underwhelmed is unfair but the point stands Kerr has been better than we thought as agreed has Miller ....knocked back by Ferranti thistle who thought white was a better option...a decision that will in all probability relegate them... I am as nostalgic as you for brockville & we will never replicate that atmosphere

  2. Taiwo in Kerr position id think no?[/quote

Tommy Taiwo was playing well before his injury..he went from a player I couldn't see it in to a guy I really rated if he can rediscover his form which isn't easy of course after a long term injury he could be a big player for us in the run in...Kerr has been a master stroke by houstie...most of us were underwhelmed when he came back....but he's a different more rounded player than the player that left he's a really intelligent footballer knows his limitations now & is generally excellent ....my fear is will vaulks I think he is far better in midfield than defence & I think it's time to go with muirhead in the middle of defence & bring in either McCann or someone from the youth team at right back..is Gallagher left or right sided?....anyway with mcgrandles out we are one midfielder short ...must be someone available on a free for cover

  3. We have had plenty of centre halves in recent times that have looked decent and switched off for that one or in some cases many moments in a game, I still think Vaulks could be one of the best in Scotland at centre half, he has a superb spring in him to make up for not being the tallest and we miss his long range of passing when he is in midfield, swings and roundabouts tho as we benefit from his long range shooting.

Watson can be faulted for a few of our goals this season in not picking up for that instance, loose in possession or simply not being being forceful towards the ball, he has improved tho but I still get the heart in mouth sometimes when he is on the ball in tight areas

Aafjes is one of the best we couldnt keep in recent years, I think down to family illness tho.

liked him a lot...also thought cedric uras was an excellent centre half

  4. I bet I could rattle off more than 20 who for me would be ahead of Loy.

He worked hard I don't doubt that. He was decent but the best since Stainrod? Come on

    Better than

    Latapy

    McAlistair

    Farid

    Taylor

    Moss

    Stokes

    Higginbotham

    Flynn

    McGrandles

    Sibbald

    Keith

    Crabbe

    Barr

    Miller

    Coyle

    Samuel

    Hughes

    Kerr

    McQueen

    McGovern

To name a few - no danger

I said my favourite player since stainrod it is of course a matter of opinion...you have guys in there that imo don't deserve to be above loy...Colin Samuel ? Scott crabbe? Never in a million years

  5. Loy always gave 100% but was he a predator in the penalty box? No he was not. I think both Baird and big Lee have more of a killer instinct and our goals for column this season shows that

Listen as much as I am very happy with Baird & the second coming of lee Miller (who don't forget Livingston didn't fancy)..Rory loy is a fantastic player as a number 10 ...he is not an out & out goal scorer but he will run all day & maybe lacks a finish at times but he is a very clever player who rarely wastes an ounce...ie he knows where to run & where to create space others can't see ...a fantastic player the likes of we will be lucky to see again...I would compare him to a lex grant or Ken eadie in a bairns jersey....maybe even a Kirkie Lawson

  6. Loy has gone. Was decent for us but not nearly as influential as either Farid or Taylor were.

I don't get the rose tinted view of him from some.

Who cares now. He went for money (I don't blame him). I certainly won't kiss his arse.

Totally disagree loy was far more influential in build up play than either...my favourite player since stainrod
  7. Able to play more often than not. So not finished?

As I've already said, if he was able to play week in, week out he'd be playing in the EPL or English Championship.

He would comfortably be the best player in the Scottish Championship. It really is that simple.

So hibs bounded him out the door but he would be the best player in the championship ...they kept Scott Robertson instead who raith fans would happily burn at the stake ...your going to say terry butcher aren't you?

  8. Signing Kevin Thomson would be a kick in the baws for some of our players IMO. Kerr and Vaulks have been outstanding, plus the addition of McGrandles only makes us stronger. If there was ever a injury crisis, put faith in young Blair

I'll admit I thought Kerr was done when he signed for queens till I saw him control the game at tfs...I was still doubtful about signing him but anyone that doesn't think mark Kerr is a vital cog in this team knows f**k all about fitba...he has an excellent first touch & is especially good at killing a high ball..then he keeps it simple ..short sharp passes..I would even say this mark Kerr is more influential than the original ..so anyway we don't need that fat w**k Thomson

  9. Don't think slagging Cooper is justified. He is a decent player but just not as good as our current first team attacking players. His form in development games show his worth at that level

I wasn't slagging cooper my post was clearly directed at smiths typical modus operandi ...just pointing out we would be as well getting rid cause for whatever reason he's not getting a sniff...fwiw I think he would be a good impact player
