  1. Fair play to both teams today, that was horrible weather and the hail storm in the 2nd half looked sore.

That said, I thought we were better throughout.

Jinkys goal was lovely, but his effort from the kick off or Tonys boot from halfway would have been incredible.

Quite boring to hear our own fans complain about our young goalie trying to kick long in the first half.  His defence might have 750 games between them, if they werent content to play that way then theyd have dropped short.

  2. John Gemmell said something similar last year, but I got the impression that insurance would come off the players pay and it was up to them if they wanted it or not.

I do think there's a responsibility on the club to provide insurance, but these decisions about wages/premiums are on the player and club.

That's 61 seconds more than than him and MacKay combined have given the fans.

Colin's very approachable and friendly.  I dont know Neil MacKay, but I think Colin would chat with anyone at a game.  You'll see him floating about on matchdays.

Thought your numbers are about the same as I counted, but players were given 20 tickets each. (480) assuming we have a pool of 24. Haven't taken into account Farrell and his staff.

This cant be right surely.  24 players x 20 each @ £22 is around ten grand.  I would be amazed if our club would do without that.

I had heard 6 comps each, that should be more than enough for them.

  5. Shame to lose Brett, as others have said he has kept us in games this season.

Having looked around in the summer, I think Harry will expect a chance to play now.  So any other goalie would be 2nd choice to him,  unless a very decent goalie became available.

Eric Phillips will be registered as a trialist for Saturday Im sure.  Maybe even just for the bantz

  6. Money talks.

The extended deal last season  protected us if he continued to develop and gave him security going forward.

No one let's a good young prospect leave for nothing, if QOTS want him, it should be expected by all that they pay to get him out his contract.

Talking about records, if you take a graph of the UK mortgage rate in the last nine months and flip it upside down it almost exactly matches our league form.

I looked at that the other day; 40 points from 57, contract extension, 22 points from 51.

The other interesting article I found on the website had Fazz talking about supporting the players with the psychological pressure of being at the top of the league.  I guess that didn't work out.

We started with some weird 3-5-2 sort of thing at Annan in the 3-1 game the other month to be fair. It was only in the second-half that we went back to a 4-1-4-1 and brought on guys like Orsi and Div Wilson.

Not arguing with you Jan, the 1st half was a riot in the previous match.  It seemed to me that we were trying to play the usual 4-1-4-1 with Love and Wallace in the middle.  It then looked like we came out in the 2nd half with a 5-4-1 with Wylde and Lynas at wing back, with Kalvin, Div, RB and Fin in midfield.

Either way, it was far too easy in the 1st game for Annan to rip our shape up, and they definitely managed to do that again on Tuesday.

One of the memories from the April game was an Annan fan asking Greg Fleming if he expected it to be so easy, he replied to say that there was huge gaps in the middle of the park.

Far too easy in April, far too easy again this week.

I am only going on an article I read about premier league managers so assuming it’s the same, I might be wrong.

It said that if a club sacked a manager they only had to pay his remain contract unless he signs for another club. At that point they stop paying.

@Skyline Drifter seems to have a good grip on all things football from an admin board level generally so he might know common practice.

This happens a lot, managers get removed from post but not paid off.  So the ex sits in his garden, or goes to other games while his employers have to pay for another manager to take the job on.

The ex can use the time for personal development, visiting other teams or whatever.

Edit to add; you've used "unless", swap that out for "until they get another job or their contract expires."

Any idea what Long was saying to the fans behind the goal after the 6th? Felt sorry for him with that one, he made a great save from McCartney's header only to see Luissint smash in the rebound unopposed.

He was asking if any of us wanted a game.

At one point the ball had gone out for a goal kick and a fan had it in his hands, Brett told him to keep it and went for a walkabout.

Fair play to him, it was a complete shit storm in front of him.

Are we again powerless to force Farrell out?

Aye and no.  It's up to the club and manager to some extent.

But withholding your cash and telling them why, might work if done in sufficient numbers.

Personally, I've bought my season ticket and would still go if it was bad.

Good luck to anyone trying to park remotely close to Borough Briggs, music festival with upwards of 7k of people attending happening probably about a quarter of a mile away

The festival has a lot of event parking, but I guess not everyone would use that.

I've seen the council and the leisure centre parking, Tesco's too.  Anywhere else?

Big Rusty hitting form ahead of the play offs. Guys like him will be the difference in the play offs. We started really strong, credit to the players for putting a shift running up and down hills all day. Ice baths required for Tuesday.

Peter Grant was switched on from the moment he ran on to warm up. Really professional and really impressed by his attitude to our situation. How he never got kept on at Clyde I'll never know.

Agreed about Rusty, I think he's improved every game.  He took his chance today very well.

Hopefully we can bring our strongest squad back and kick on for the play offs

I haven't seen many games since Grant joined but whilst many have applauded his performances there is no denying that our defence has been worse since he arrived. He might well be doing individual things well but it doesn't appear he has the partnership with Buchanan that Carswell had formed earlier in the season. I think we've kept one clean sheet with Grant in the side.

I think that's more to do with injuries than Grant's arrival, we've had to rely on guys starting in midfield who shouldn't be near the starting 11.
