Hearts V Ayr United Football Club

We went on a bus which was a joint one between Valspar and I think maybe Ayr Boswell or Caley - it's just popped into my head it broke down afterwards and we sat there for ages- 246 replies

Hearts V Ayr United Football Club

Same as me. Was the round after we had beat Killie 2-0 in 1998 - I was only 14 but remember thinking the stadium seemed cracking - also gutted that we can't go to this - day oot to Edinburgh on the train on Boxing Day would have been magnificent (probable defeat aside). Just need to hope we can frustrate them - hard to see anything other than a fairly routine defeat though. Our defensive record is of course good but the big worry for me is that when we do concede we seem to then concede one or two more in quite quick succession (Morton, Livi, Arbroath all spring to mind where there have been 2 or 3 in a 10 minute max spell). Definitely got the fear that this could be a Livi esque one where we are out of it after 20 mins or so.- 246 replies

The Relegation Dogfight
Hursty replied to vikingTON's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
If you continue with this inability to beat us at Palmerston this year then the next time we share a league we should automatically be given 6 points and the games not played. If you don't do it this season then I'm confident you never will. I'm honestly intrigued to see how it goes. I mean, no offence, but you guys seem absolute shite this season and yet we still needed 2 early goals from corners then a tremendous goalkeeping performance to win the first meeting. Add that to the fact that we always save our absolute worst for Palmerston. The biggest question is probably whether it's Muirhead or McCowan that gets sent off while we are chasing the game. And yet we will still then definitely beat Alloa the week after, even though they are a pretty good side. -

Chill. Once you get the absolutely nailed on 3 points against Ayr at New Year and we then go and beat Alloa as we tend to do the week after then it will look a bit better. -
I think when Chalmers stepped up and curled a free kick miles over the bar in the first half when it was 100% a right footer position it set the tone for the day. Hopeless.

The Ultimate Super Ayr Thread
Hursty replied to D'Jaffo's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
Important run at new year. Dont expect anything from Tynecastle (and I'd have felt the same even if we had won easily today) but after that it's a triple header of Morton H, QoS A and Alloa H. We tend to have the beating of Alloa, Queens look awful the now and for 83 mins earlier in the season we outplayed Morton. Any performances and results like today and its definitely time for questions to be asked. Agree with a lot of the comments above - I'd be punting Anderson back and trying something else. Waste of a Jersey the now and isnt a long term signing option so not worth persisting from what I've seen. -

I think Stewart would have been a disaster to be honest. -
For all my moaning about Ayr today, credit due to Abroath. Looked better than us in every area and far more up for the game. Hard to see why you have been doing so poorly based on that. Results today certainly showing that the likes of Ayr are still definitely involved in a relegation battle.

Got the goal back with the wind so what almost always happens in these situations is the team who is chasing the game piles on the pressure. We immediately shell it out the park then hardly touch it for 3 or 4 mins, should concede another goal from a penalty and then when we finally get the ball, get caught offside. It's actually laughable!
-
The 5 mins after we scored have possibly been the most pathetic of the lot.
-
Well...83 mins. Morton came back to beat us from a similar situation when we looked as in control as Arbroath do so you never know.... Yeah you actually do - we have chucked it
-
"Ayr going through a decent spell here" says the co-commentator No we absolutely are not haha
-
You absolutely KNEW that we weren't getting a shot away from that counter attack there. Easiest game Gaston will ever have this.
-
It's actually laughable how much better than us Arbroath have been in each half. Theyve actually been even better against the wind- this is a pumping
-
Exactly. Same as I said last night - the whole "oh its windy so we cant get a result in Arbroath" excuse is bollocks. We play in Scotland and its windy in winter. They are still out playing us in to the wind this half
-
Smith off and Anderson stays on? Hmmmmm
-
It's a good point - why change a defence that was keeping clean sheets
-
That smoke could get a game in our midfield haha
-
fortunately being the terrible fan that I am I saw it coming so at least the stream is free. Need to put a couple of quid on the comeback now to even it out even though I really cant see it!
-
Commentators right - we completely chucked that. 2-0 flatters Ayr completely. Just needs a Muirhead red card now.
-
Shambles again. This could be any number at the moment - offering absolutely nothing here.
-
That's been coming - we have been awful.
-
Just thinking as that corner nearly went in there - would this have been the 3rd game in a row between the sides when a corner was scored directly?
-
Aye I'm loving the commentary but dreading the noise of the lads if they go ahead haha
-
Yup - comfortably the best stream I've personally seen this season. Easy to sign up, good picture and perfect stream so far
