  1. Moff was having a great game. In hindsight it was the wrong move taking him off for Houston after the red card - should have been Anderson
  2. Just seems frustrating that we play some great stuff, doesnt always come off but still score goals from a couple of lovely moves and could have a few more then finally the opposition realise that all they have to do to score a few back is send a couple of big tae-bashes up the park and chase it. Andy Ritchie on their commentary even called it haha
  3. I'm similar. Although I thought Chalmers absolutely strolled it for the majority of the game. The big worry for me is that we have played cannon fodder QoS and got a lucky win. Led against Inverness missing 7 players and bottled it late on. And finally turned in a pretty good performance today against a pretty toothless Morton side and still collapsed. Next 2 games Dunfermline and Dundee - doesnt matter how well we play going forward, both of those sides will get the ball in and around our box plenty of times meaning we are needing 3 or 4 goals to win it seems. Even Albion Rovers managed to score twice against us and look where they are! I had a horrible feeling before today that we could end up in a scrap down the bottom and after 80 mins was relieved to see I was wrong....the feeling is back big time now.
  4. Remember it well. I was sat outside a pub in Portpatrick and after 90 mins at 1-0 had a 'get it up ye' message typed out to my Morton supporting father in law. Went for a pish before sending and checked result when I got back up in case we had somehow conceded an equaliser and was just stunned. Deleted it and briefly considered launching my phone into the harbour.
  5. Trying to find a positive - Cammy Smith was absolutely superb. First I've seen him and he looks different class and fits the style of play perfectly.
  6. Baird should be doing that job since he's captain. With Muirhead suspended now it's not like we can even change things up for next week. That's what worries me the most - really dont want to sound like it's sour grapes but Morton offered absolutely nothing going forward today and yet helped themselves to 3 goals in 5 mins when they stuck a few men forward. Dread to think what might happen next week against a Dunfermline team scoring for fun. Could easily be sitting on 4 points from 5 games going into the international break - which seems bizarre as we actually looked a pretty good side for the vast majority of the game today!
  7. I'm more angry at that last 8 mins tonight than I have been in years. An absolute disgrace and if that's the level of mental toughness / standard or defensive collapse that we are going to see as soon as someone shells a couple of harmless long balls forward near the end of the game then that win v QoS might prove to be absolutely massive in a relegation battle. Played really well for 80 odd minutes and still pulled out one of the most spectacular and pathetic collapses imaginable. An absolute disgrace. Yes I'm furious haha.
  8. Pars will hammer us unfortunately. We have absolutely bottled it today and shipped 3 laughable goals to a team who had barely threatened in 80 odd minutes. Going to be hanging around the bottom end of the table if we need to be 3 or 4 goals up late on to win. Defence is an absolute joke.
  9. Almost 3 games running as Sinisalo saved us a couple of times in injury time v Queens. Absolutely pathetic - that's as embarrassing a 5 mins as anything I've ever seen from Ayr. Absolutely cruising. Muirhead a fucking idiot but we still had a full back 4 and midfield on the park. Absolutely pressure on Kerr as you can certainly see us struggle to take anything from the next couple of games as well. Have to say though, brilliant package from Morton - easy sign up (although wouldn't play on my TV but tablet was fine) and a perfect stream with good commentary.
  10. 30mph winds with gusts up to 45mph forecast along with heavy rain. Lovely.
  11. Big game this - for Ayr I think it's fair to say that the results so far suggest that we have played a lot better than we actually have done so it's vital the performances improve before the results stop coming. Hopefully having a couple of bodies back and the newer lads s week of training will help.
  12. Sounds like our usual performance at Inverness then? All that's missing is the opener with a header around 65 mins.
  13. From memory we seemed to get two very different Danny McKay's.....can't think of any others.
  14. That Scottish Cup one was a brilliant day out. 16 years old, carry out on the bus, got served pints in the Social Club and 3 up at HT. The day crumbled the moment Bobby Mann started his run up for the free kick. Just seemed an absolute inevitability that it was going to go in and once it did then it was all over. In the end a bad defeat with a shitty view of all 7 goals down the other end. I'd bloody love a day out like that again tomorrow though !
  15. I know - the players you lost in summer/ injuries etc suggest it's a game we should be winning. However it's still Inverness v Ayr so forgive me for not being particularly confident haha.
  16. A new low indeed (although one that we have already done before). So maybe it's a same as before low.
  17. A pretty positive week I'd say. Next challenge is to go up to Inverness and actually give them a game rather than sit back and wait for the inevitable 1 or 2 -0 defeat that we seem to love against them. If we can do that then maybe I'll start believing haha.
  18. I do get that. But for me it's whether you want to first and foremost 'hate the Killie one team in Ayrshire' or accept that the manager will sign the best players he thinks he can get to somehow get us up to the level Killie currently play at, regardless of who they play for. Kerr obviously feels we need an option up front who is 6 foot 3 or whatever and that Cameron is the best available - so personally I'm all for it. I know there's also the argument about "why are we developing their (Killie, Dundee Utd, Aberdeen etc) youngsters rather than our own". Again I do get that but the reality is that it's a 27 game season so thinking short term he needs to get the best team as he possibly can on the park. Seems fairly risk free to me especially as no fans in the ground to get on his back. If he isn't good enough then I'm sure he will go back in January and we will look elsewhere. If he is, then we should in theory be doing well enough in the league for the majority to not be that fussed.
  19. Doesnt matter - its Inverness away so we arent gonna win whoever we sign haha. And I'd be disappointed if we lost with the current squad....
  20. Absolutely abysmal record considering how many times weve played there, and how many times Inverness have won at Somerset. Score draw this weekend I reckon.
  21. The one voice I remember from the Enclosure from when I first started going (1991 or so) was someone who always used to shout "COME ON UNI-TED" with what seemed like quite a gap where the dash is. Must have been some voice as it's one of the main things that stands out in my memory as a wee guy aged 6 or 7 on the North Terracing haha. That and going down a gravel hill where the Hospitality suite is now to pee in a big concrete trough
  22. I worked last year with a guy who is pals with Neil Watt - apparently he 100% blames the Ayr fans. I was told a story that after about 10 mins of Watt's first friendly in charge at Somerset someone shouted at him from behind the dugout something along the lines of "we don't f*****g want you here Watt and we will see you don't last". Seems a tad far fetched to me even for the regulars in the enclosure back then haha
