No issue at all with results as they don't matter. It's all about personnel and we are short of a few players at the minute.

Midfield is the one causing me the most consternation. Hendry hasn't been replaced and I am concerned with Matthews' injury at the moment as it looks like he might be spending some time out as well, with some concerning messaging about us not really knowing how to treat him. Neither of these players are ones you want to be replacing with some 19 year old from a Premiership reserve side.

Regan was from one of these premiership teams remember and was only around 20-21. You don't know the quality of the individuals and what our manager can get out of them!

I'm disappointed we didnt keep MacDonald. Other things being equal a player who shows loyalty is much better than risking signing a journeyman.

I think this came down to money. Think about it, he has a well paid job I believe and is on a part time contract, this means he gets a full wage from work and a part time wage from the club. Now to make him a full time player he would theoretically expect his full time job wage covered plus what he was making on his part time football contract. Now on those terms I don't think the club could realistically afford that.

    Dear lord.

First of all, I’m not complaining about you DMing a footballer- I’m pointing out that it’s strange behaviour for an adult. If you want to do it, that’s your prerogative. Likewise, if I want to point out that you come across and a bit weird, that’s up to me.

Secondly, on your point about curling under a rock- you’ve twice told me to stop posting about this subject as it’s boring you. Do you even see the irony in this?

I see another trick you’re trying’s deflection. I know Morton were shite on Saturday and this season isn’t going to be pretty, I’m comfortable with it. A bit like slagging Dunfermline for racking up debt when the debate is about your behaviour. None of these things actually change anything about you.

I eagerly await your 17th post on a subject that you yourself has said has ran it’s course.

    Not a bad post 🤣

This is now my fourth post on the matter, and since you posted a screenshot of your wee chat with Mendy, I make it 14 times you’ve posted about it.

I’m also very interested in your point that I’ve compared your messages to anyone else’s. That’s just not true, is it? You’re making things up and running around in circles now. Contrary to what you believe, there’s one guy making a fool of himself here, and it ain’t me or “that Dunfermline tool”.

The best course of action now would be for you to just say nothing and hope that this drops down the forum and is forgotten about, but don’t come telling me about a lack of decency when you’re stamping your feet and making up lies in the hope that it’ll shut folk up. You’ve had about as much of a nightmare on here as my team had on the park on Saturday.

Seriously mate you've lost the plot.

I imagine the kids have a nightmare outside your house kicking a ball about. You really hit me as one of those Karen types that complain about anything that they just don't agree with.

I imagine you had hoped I would curl under a rock by now but sorry I dont work like that.

You keep posting away on a football forum about something that has past its time now. If anything it will take your mind off what you had to endure on the pitch this past Saturday but what it won't help with is that you will have to endure that every week.

Thats the Unfortunate situation you are in whereas I can have a couple of trolls/keyboard warriors/Karen's or whatever you would like to call yourselves constantly posting nonsense while Raith still sit top of the league and believe me that more than softens the blow.

In fairness, if I'd dm'd a football player, and then showed everyone, I'd want everyone to quickly move on too.

At least you didn't call Toby a "c**t shark" or a "fruit bat" or any other animal based insults, can only be classified as progress really.

Yeh well he only followed your suit tbh so well there we go.

10 pages later i wouldn't really call quickly moving on.

You have made your point and I will appreciate that even if I disagree but that is you right and my right.

I posted twice on the subject- once asking the circumstances and once stating how appropriate I thought his messaging of the guy was, and stating what I think an appropriate course of action to take is to commend someone on a job well done is in another industry and in football. I know that doesn’t suit your argument here, but let’s keep things in perspective.

Rather than boring you, I’d suggest that you’re not enjoying people pointing out your odd behaviour.

I’ll give the Raith fans their dues though- their staunch defence of you is an eye opener. If a Morton fan did likewise, I’d expect us all to be hammering him for it, such is the division in our support. I can’t decide if that’s a sign of great unity in your support or completely blinkered. I’ll go with the latter.

Maybe its point blank that you have blown such a minor subject into a full blown discussion which has taken it way off skew. To compare a congratulations to a football player to the shit being messaged is absolutely disgraceful. If you disagree with a post or dm to a player then fair enough but to go to such an extreme is just pathetic.

The only people making any fool of themselves now are you and that Dunfermline tool!

Why don't you now just get back to the football talk as I think I speak for the majority that they are sick o hearing it now.

Expect that won't happen but let's see if you have any sense or at least decency to move on!

I didn’t ask if he followed you on Instagram- I asked if he was a friend, if you knew each other or if he was a friend of a friend.

If someone gives me excellent service in their workplace, I go through their employer’s website and either e-mail them or complete a customer feedback form stating who the employee was and what they did to exceed my expectations. That would be the appropriate channels to commend someone on a job well done, imo.

In this instance, the appropriate channels would be to comment on Raith Rovers’ social media platforms about how well he played and leave it at that.

This isn’t about society’s tendency to be too quick to criticise and abuse, it’s about you over familiarising yourself with a guy who’s entitled to his privacy.

He does not have to respond to any message but he chose to!

Think its time to put this to rest now. Your boring me and everyone else.

  8. Just to make it clear. It was a friendly well done to a foreign player who has had some stick and a hard time. Sometimes little things like that go along way to people's confidence.  If I had exceptional service from an employee in a specific business I would happily send an email in to compliment the service from that employee which in turn will give them confidence. We as a society are quick enough to attack employees via social media and or emails etc but you can't commend them?? I hope that a well done from a loyal supporter will give him that extra bit of confidence and if not so be it!

Without wanting to go back through all the posts, is there any context to this? Does the guy know the player? Are they mates? Friends of friends? Or just complete strangers whose only link is that one happens to be employed by the football club the other supports?

No major problem really if it’s one of the first two or maybe the third, but if it’s the latter and the fan is over the age of about 13 I’d definitely think it’s a bit weird.

Would say the same for adults getting the name of a player who’s younger than him on the back of their jersey. We’re heading into Jay Beatty’s da’ territory, here.

Nando is a follower on my Instagram page.

It was a nice wee chance to land a jab against a rival fan but to then double down with the ‘guy at his workplace’ chat and then triple down on comparing a message of support to a local sportsperson with a creepy old guy telling a stranger she is pretty has a real whiff of ‘the lady doth protest too much’ to it.

    I think we call them Karen's in 2020 🤣

Top of the league after only 4 games, fourteen goals scored for only three conceded. Talk about a dream start, the only down side being our inability to witness events first hand. And on that note neither can poor John McGlynn, he must be happy but pulling his hair out all the same (what hair?). It all shows how good the team and the coaching staff are, had we been in Arbroath or QotS position we’d be raging and wanting to know when McGlynn would be back, instead nobody has even asked.

On the fan/player interaction debate is it not just a modern twist on what’s always happened? Alex Taylor had a particular stinker of a game in a Raith shirt 25 Years ago, he looked miserable as he trudged off to a largely booing south Stand. Not having the benefit of modern technology I wrote to him to say it was an uncharacteristic game and to basically keep the head up. He wrote back saying that he really appreciated me taking time to write. I suppose that act or interaction made me a weirdo in some eyes. On another level, in his pomp at Liverpool Kenny Dalgliesh got thousands of letter a week from fans of all ages, were they all weirdos too?
Many celebs boast about how many followers they have on social media, if they didn’t want attention they wouldn’t be on it. It’s all the same thing as far as I can see.

    Well said mate!
