  1. I have to disagree with this, I don’t think I have seen very few games this season where I have thought the ref did not have any impact on the outcome of a game. It’s not the aspects of the game which you have mentioned handball and offside it’s sending offs that are not sending offs and vice versa players getting booked when it’s a red card, it’s giving a throw in to the wrong team and then that team scoring from the throw in. The standard is getting worse as the SFA fast track refs up the levels and they are not ready, I mean 4 years ago I was watching Kevin Clancy, Andrew Dallas and and Don Robertson refereeing junior games now they are doing rangers and Celtic games and they are not good enough.

  10. Do the teams coming down have a choice of where they go? for example if Dalbeattie star stay at the bottom of the lowland league and are relegated can they choose to go to west region rather than back to south league where they came from? with a couple of teams already defected to the west (Threave, Bonnyton) they might see the west region as a more prosperous league bigger crowds etc.
  11. Can some one explain why there could be 5 teams possibly going down? my understanding was it was 3 automatic and possibly 4 if the champions don't win the play off and the bottom team from the lowland league comes to the west ( i get it might only be two down if our champions win the play off and the bottom lowland league team goes to east/north/south)

  13. This has already happened twice this season in the premier league cup and both offending teams were docked of any points gained and the opposition awarded a 3-0 win. As we are now all under the same SPFL banner the same rules should apply. (if he was actually supposed to be suspended, he was sent off in Clyde's last game of the season so he had not served any suspension when our league started on Saturday as that was the first competitive fixture)
  14. Cambuslang only had one tactic all day which was high ball to Anson to try and get some knockdowns which for the first half worked ok, second half Beith coped much better with him and he kinda fell out the game. I think cambuslang will need to do more than that if they are to survive in the league. Good to see that up and coming striker McLean getting a couple of goals, his second especially was a great goal.

  16. All clubs should be charging the same, probably around £8, to let clubs set their own prices could stop fans travelling to away grounds under the current cost of living crisis that is going on.
  17. That does not seem a very sustainable model to work on every year, the uncertainty for clubs will have a detrimental affect on clubs planning for the following season, as most clubs start their planning for the following season before their season ends, a club who finishes 12th in the league and thinks their safe then events outside the league mean they get relegated. Does not sit right with me. I could understand last seasons relegation scenario as we were re-constructing the leagues. But we should not have a situation every season where it will be possible for a third of the league to be relegated.
  18. Be interesting to see what they do with the withdrawal of Darvel from this cup. The WOSFL want all their competitions with a sponsor. Do they hammer them or will they be scared to in case their chairman pulls the sponsorship of the cup.
  19. While we all know the circumstances of what happened, by awarding the tie to Glenafton does not seem to punish Blantyre every much, they are already relegated in fact you could argue that the teams getting punished in this situation are Glencaorn and Benburb. There must have been another way to sanction Blantyre but still play the game.
  20. My point exactly it is affects the Glens and Benburb. If I am Benburb I want to know what is happening before Saturday as I don’t want to be relying on Darvel needing to win to stay up and it would be a horrible way to go down when Glenafton might be awarded the three points and they could be relegated without a ball being kicked. I know the circumstances of the abandoned game and I would expect Glenafton to win the game (if it was to be replayed) but there is the chance that Blantyre could get a draw which would be enough to save Benburb. There are going to be some very unhappy people what ever the decision is.
  21. So is there going to be decision on the abandoned game between Glenafton and Blantyre before Saturday's play off match for the lowland league? there are a few clubs future on where they will be playing riding on the decision the blazers make on this game especially if Darvel were to lose the play off.
  22. So who goes up if it is a draw on Saturday, I assume it would be Tranent as they beat St. Cuthberts 7-0. So would go up on goal difference?
