  1. Missing Hilfenhaus as well this summer hasn't helped them, be a massive blow if they were to lose Harris, even for just 1 test.
  2. As 10CC sang "Don't you cramp me style, Don't you pee on me pitch." Or something....
  3. They were knocking the idea around on Sky earlier, but I'm with you that there's too many variables that affect the over rate. One thing that does get on my tits nowadays are the amount of subs that come and go during play. You get players now disappearing 10 minutes before lunch or tea, there's no need for it tbh.
  4. Teams bowling tactically slow over rates has been going on for years, is it time for the ICC to actually introduce rules that punish slow play?
  5. 2005 Ashes in England had 10.30 am starts, don't know why they changed tbh.
  6. Yep, they could have just have kept batting and made the draw a cert. at least they've had a go at trying to win it. Looks like it may backfire though.
  7. I'm sure Broad really contributed to the fight by sitting on his arse in the dressing room all day. Disappointed England didn't at least try and up the run rate a bit, with the weather forecast a draw looked fairly certain anyway.
  8. Cook goes for 25, 68-1. Another low score for the captain.
  9. Your daughter is banged up in a Peruvian prison and you fly to the other side of the world to see her. What do you take for her? Her Ugg boots and a onesie. Fucking genius.
  10. He was sorely missed by the Aussies in the second innings when England's scoring got out of control, his economy rate is superb. Only criticism could be that he doesn't take enough wickets, he has 64 wickets in 68 innings bowled, but with an economy rate of less than 2.76 per over. There are very few more economic than that.
  11. And Lyon gets Anderson. 330 all out, Aussies need 299 to win. 7 wickets for Harris, he had a great spell this morning but leaked a few runs later on.
  12. Swann dropped by Smith, a real howler. He's now doing what better batsmen couldn't do earlier and is whacking Harris around the ground. 294 lead, barring a miracle it looks an almost certain England win now.
  13. Sky are showing the final live, 5.30 pm on SS4.
  14. Must have, or they would surely have called for one then?
  15. Harris hits 3 fours off Broad then has a wild swing at the last ball of the over, lead now 32 and every run vital at this stage.
  16. And now Rogers goes too, still 2 behind and Harris and Siddle at the crease with the new ball due in 3 balls time.
  17. Great start for England getting Haddin out before the new ball, which is due in a couple of overs. Australia 6 behind.
  18. Will listen to it tomorrow. I got the impression that England started off with the mindset that they were quite happy to bat for as long as possible even if they weren't scoring many runs.
  19. Certainly seemed to be a bit of a general malaise about England's batting, the Aussies did bowl well but it took until 15 minutes before lunch for England to hit their first boundary. KP went chasing the first bowl he faced and was lucky it went into open space, Bell then chipped a simple shot to mid off just after lunch. Watson had a terrific spell this morning. Jackson Bird has Scottish ancestry, I'm reliably informed by his second cousin.
  20. Can't help but think that with the Ashes already retained some of the English batsmen weren't really at it today. Aussie bowlers certainly made it hard for them to score but there were some very lazy shots that cost wickets.
  21. The Aussies wasted a lot of reviews earlier in the series, but they've done a great job with them today. I'd have put my house on that ball that dismissed Prior missing the stumps.
  22. And Bell holes out cheaply to mid off just after tea, now 155-5. 3 wickets for Lyon.
  23. England go from 149-2 to 153-4 with KP and Cook out in quick succession. Typical wobble from England tbh.
